Both animes have similar plot structures and main characters who are poignant in their personality and seem rather cautious of others. SNAFU is a bit more down to earth with hints of romance. While Grisaisa seems ordinary, but really hints at dark humor. What these two shows possess in common is nuanced character interactions and dialogue, whilst Grisaia being a tad darker than SNAFU.

If you read the synopsis of both anime you might think how are they similiar? Well its because they are both unique to to their genre. Grisia is not the typical harem as you learn by the end of the first episode that it has dark elements in it. Yahari isn't one of those rom-coms where all the characters are happy and optimistic. Both have dark elements to them that aren't expected for their genre. In addition, the main cast for both anime have completely different personalities from each other so no two characters feel the same.
