In both series, the protagonist is a powerful person of demonic origin, dressed in red, who is nearly invincible, has superhuman abilities and two big handguns of different colors. He is employed by humans to fight other demons in exceptionally gory and stylish ways on a daily basis. The animation style is also somewhat similar.

Both have badass main characters who are loners and are very cruel in enjoying their massacres. That's about the whole story right?

Also in the same genre of animation and feel, only a longer adaptation that is fateful to the concept of the source material

Both are about a guy who is kind of a loner. They both use guns to do their work.

Making it simple: - Both have demons predating humans and a macho protagonist who save humans from the demons and is deep involved with Makai/Hell. - Both protagonists have fight partners who don't necessary fight togheter and share a strange friendship. - Both have almost all characters as adults. - Both have the little girl enigma (relating to Makai/Hell). - Both have awesome openings (seriously). - Anyway there's a lot of similarities. If you watched one, you might watch the other. That's it.

Well they both have a lot of action scenes , they both have similar main characters (who are extremely badass) and there awesome nuff said go watch'em

Both main characters own buisnesses. Every episode is a different mission, basically. They both hunt for bounties. In that respect they are very similar

Blood, violence, action and a main protagonist who is serious and has a cold attitude.

Dante and Blade are hybrid of two different races, rather it would be demon and human or vampire and human. Their job? To hunt down and kill the demon/ vampire race that preys on human. There will be violence and lots of it, along with action.

both have great action and animation styile that madhouse is known for. though it is arguable that there is more substance in last order than DMC.......

They are both by Madhouse and have a similar artstyle and feel. Neither one has much of a story and rely heavily on action as well.

Both Devil May Cry and Ogre Slayer follows a main character that hunts and kills demons with an incredibly powerful sword. The main character (Dante and Onikirimaru) in both anime lose someone very important to them at a young age and must protect the humans that they encounter. They are also action-packed anime with a dark and gritty atmosphere. They also contain similar levels of violence, blood and gore. The main difference between them is that Ogre Slayer is short to watch and is way older while Devil May Cry has more episodes and is more recent. If you like one, you may like the  read more

Both main characters are half-demon and half-human. Clare saves and starts living with a boy while Dante saves a little girl who starts living with him. They are contracted to fight against yomas/demons.

Both are about destroying demons, but the main plot is different. Both are full of action and are interesting to watch

The stories are really different (e.g.: storyline [DMC is just a little slice of Dantes life, there isn't much is known about his past, Trigun is a full story, including his past, reasons, etc.]), but the protagonists shows resemblance to each other. Dante and Vash have several similarities, including but not limited to: -like the lone wolf role, but both have fellows -long red coat -marksmanship skills -custom handgun(s) -personal sense of justice that prevents them from killing humans -non-human aura with a human appearance -an evil, identical twin brother (ps.: Interestingly Vash english voice actor is Johnny Yong Bosch who did Nero's voice in the game, DevilMayCry4.)

Although the plot and setting differ greatly, there are a few subtle similarities: 1. Gin and Dante are alike. They're both slackers and like sweets - they're also in debt. 2. Devil May Cry and the Yorozuya both do jobs for people. 3. Both have good action.
report Recommended by Mirorin
Both are about getting missions from people to put them out of their misery. Both main characters have interesting tragic pasts and have some people help them complete their missions. Dante and Ai Enma are so alike, from the way they complete their missions, to their miserable past, and to the way they seek revenge.

The main protagonist in both anime are white hair demon hunters that fights against powerful demons. Both anime have character designs designed by Hisashi Abe and are also animated by Madhouse. They also share a similar dark and gritty atmosphere filled with action, violence, blood and gore. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.

WELL...there are hot characters in both! There's ALOT of action and they both have awesome music during the fighting scenes. The storylines and plots are just amazing because you don't know what to expect. There's a good twist in the end of every DMC episode. ^-^

The good guys defeat the bad ones and there's your typical happy end. But in these stories it's not so typical. Dante from Devil May Cry is a demon hunter who on top of that is a son of the demon Sparda. Abel from Trinity Blood is an absend-minded priest who in reality is Crusnik - a vampire that hunts other vampires and feeds on them. Well, they're not your everyday fellows, don't you think? Despite these facts, both are the caring type and both have problems with money. Another critical for the story-line fact is that the world depends on them, otherwise it won't  read more

After watching some episodes in 5ds, they remind me of DMC in some way in which it involves a mature cast whose role is to save the day in an episodic style. Unaware that evil looms to plot a bigger scheme than ever……..

Another high quality anime with the exception that Ufotable has a more visual and aesthetic look that transcends beyond animation quality. Fate/Zero is as dark as Devil May Cry and it too deals with supernatural elements, monsters, fantasy, weaponry, and action. Both show's pacing are at a similar rate until they reach to the conclusion where everything gets climatic until the very end.

Both shows star an OP MC who meets challenges in everyday life giving it an easy but not so simple victory. They also share a bond with a female lead as the series progresses. What those shows have in common is that both are produced by none other than Madhouse whose caliber skills rocks when it comes to animation, art, and visuals. However both shows receive criticism for their lack of development, plot, cliche elements, and annoying moments.

Another excellent Madhouse anime to watch. HXH's Story is a lot better but what has common are: -OST -Both are gritty, gore, and nudity -Awesome characters -badass action -Monsters -Bonds that could change the tide of the story (No Spoilers) -Thrillers -Surprises which include tactics -People are paid to do missions -Fight to save the world I recommend HxH cuz if you love Madhouse and are into shows that are loyal to the manga, it is an awesome addition.

When I watch OP Man, I thought of Saitama being the shonen version of Dante due to the various reasons: Both being OP and having countless victories, mysterious past, partnership with another powerful beings, They are isolated and will always be no matter what, and They are involved in various missions involving various people. Both anime have an episodic story line and fast paced action. I find DMC to be starkly contrasting to OP Man due to the dark tone and goriness. OP Man beats DMC in terms of popularity, story, character development, and media Nuff Said

-Main character fights demons -Uses a huge awesome sword - Action packed and full of blood and violence

Both anime are immersed in the supernatural and a male protagonist with wicked fighting skills. The protagonist also shows similarities to the things he fights against. With a team including a young girl and a middle-aged man who assigns jobs, the protagonist works as a mercenary.

L-Elf and Dante look alike plus both shows deal with similar beings (Vampires and Demons) as well as suspense, dark tone, funny moments but not alot, and huge scale battles.

This anime is surprisingly similar to Ao no Exorcist. The protagonist is half-human and half-devil, his parents are devils (and his father is a very important devil), he is killing the devils, he has companions with him... I mean, they are very similar...

The main leads are hardcore in their own right and they both go on different missions with their allies to either make a profit, or have some sort of main bad guy their after.

Both anime focus on a main character who is half-human, half-monster, who also hunts monsters of the same kind. Devil May Cry has demons, while Vampire Hunter D has vampires. Both anime contain elements of gothic horror and are quite action-packed. The characters are somewhat similar too, especially Dante and D.

- Both shows are produced by Madhouse. - Both have an episodic nature. - Both have badass main characters who work as guns for hire. - Both have a lot of crazy action and gunslingers. - Similar vibe. The main different between the two is that Black Lagoon is realistic, while DMC has supernatural elements.

Both stories deal with mission basis as well as demons and mercenaries. There are slight similarities in some character comparisons (not all of them) as well as techniques but you'll just have to find that out yourself. Some points of the story gets low until the story gets highly exciting. Both show's fights are epic made and blood is involved.

Both focus around demon hybrids who hunt down demons and have alot of ultra violence in it as well too.

Both anime focus on a protagonist who is half-human, half-demon and goes around killing other demons. So, at their core, they're quite similar, plus both are violent and action-packed, although the way the violence is depicted is different. Devilman is darker, and also deals with the psyche and morality of its characters, while DMC is more straightforward.

Both anime have a main protagonist who uses a giant sword to fight all sorts or creatures, both humans and monsters. They contain a lot of action and violence, as well as protagonists with anti-hero qualities. The only difference is that the events of DMC happen in modern times, while the events of Berserk happen in medieval times.

Both are action-packed anime about supernatural forces, such as demons or vampires. They both have similar themes, and follow a nonhuman protagonist, who blends in with the society, but also uses his powers to defeat other monsters.

Both series are based on very popular video game franchises and both share religious themes and a shared running time as well too.

Casshern and Dante are powerful warriors who cannot be defeated easily. The little girl in both shows have a similar relationship. The tone in both shows are gritty and dark fashioned. Not to mention people have been comparing Casshern and Dio's rivalry to Dante and Vergil. Personally I thought of Casshern Sins as Megaman mixed with the elements of Devil May Cry since Casshern was the one that influenced the birth of Megaman.

The fighting scenes are almost the same with each other. The character's animation is great and somehow the same, and the attitude of the protagonist is also the same! I want to give Zombie Loan a 10, but the ending isn't nice, I'm asking for more. As for Devil May Cry, I got hooked to it from the very beginning so I gave it a 10. These animes are great fighting animes! With the zombies/devils, it's an action-packed anime!

In both animes the main charater is a gloomy guy with a kind heart who gets accompanied by a girl trying to lighten the mood around him. Feature big swords and lots of fights (with monsters in Devil May Cry and mecha in Gun x Sword).

In both animes the main character is a rather laid-back guy who has to fight monsters as a part of his work. In both animes the main character is accompanied by a girl he has to take care about and a female who comes to help from time to time. In Nightwalker, though, the characters are vampires.

Devil Hunter, Dante is the son of sparda, then the ARMs and gunslinger Sheyenne Rainstorm had many tricks on guns. But Dante is quite good than Sheyenne. Well never mind.

Dante and Amano Jyaku in Devil May Cry and Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend are both half demons that fight demons and must stop an evil force that is trying to destroy humanity. Urotsukidoji and Devil May Cry are also both filled with strange looking demonic monsters, lots of action, blood and gore. However, Urotsukidoji has sex and rape while Devil May Cry does not. If you don't mind the sex and rape scenes, if you like one then you may enjoy the other.

Found these two anime similar coz of some main characteristics . Both have two world parents story, although DMC is less emotional.Basics of those two stories are very much the same, you have Yakumo whos mother is human and father is some being form the other side, and you have the same thing for Dante. Also the way customers come to Dante, Yakumo has his place where people who need help come.

Both have characters who are down on their luck (largely because of their personal preferances in lifestyle) and who are really bad with money. Also the premise of having an agency where people come to you for help is the same, though the details around the main characters are quite a bit different.

Both main characters take odd jobs if the pay is right. Both shows offer plenty of gun slinging; though DMC is quite gory, keep that in mind.

Both have plots about a man who fights against demons (or in the case of Black Blood Brothers, evil vampires). Both are very heavy on the action and gore, yet still contain some tender-like moments as well. Both are highly recomended!

Both Devil May Cry & Cowboy Bebop have characters that are very similar. The heros of the stories, Dante - Spike. The older level headed gentleman, Morrison - Jet. The tough-as-nail female character Lady - Faye. And the precocious little girl Patty - Edward. And just like Cowboy Bebop where the characters of Spike & Faye are sometimes partners and sometimes they are also in competition against each other. The same is true with the characters of Dante & Lady

Another Madhouse over-acclaimed show that, imho, only deserves a watch for its awesome technical side: top notch OST, uncanny lighting, very fluid and detailed animation, outstanding directing and much more. Of course and still imho, if you are looking for a rock hard story with thing like coherency and a well developed character psychology, I wish you good luck searching elsewhere...
