Both have badass main characters who are loners and are very cruel in enjoying their massacres. That's about the whole story right?

Both series are dark and have a main character who does what he wants and to heck with everyone else.
In both of these anime series, there is violence, gore, action, drama, and involves a world of monstrosity.
The main male protagonist in both series is in fact very independent, skilled, and is able to handle situations at their own expenses. They kill monsters in a cruel way but at the same time wishes to protect someone close to them.
Both series has a similar setting and a dark atmosphere throughout each episode.
Both are dark action-packed shows which features vampires, demons, and similar beast. Of course this includes the protagonist of each show, which is either a half-demon (DMC) or a full-blown vampire (Hellsing Ultimate). Said protagonists happen to be a tad too overpowered, so expect a lot of one-sided fights.
Another thing in common is how the plot is not precisely deep in both shows, so if you liked one and you're looking for another mindless action show with plenty of asskicking go ahead and check the other. You'll enjoy it.

The similarity is in the MCs. They both exhibit powerful traits and are pretty much OP, deriving this power from the demons within them. The action scenes are comparable given the MCs wield such power and are certainly entertaining and badass.
Similar feel to it,gore, both characters immortal-ish,both use guns.
But Hellsing has way more gore, and is a (way) better anime.

Both have a badass protagonist with guns and a long red coat.
Jokes aside, these series are not that different from each other so if you liked one you will probably enjoy the other. With the exception that to fully enjoy DMC you have to be familiar with the games lore as in the anime itself there isn't much story, while Hellsing has its own story.
