Btw, sorry I took so long to reply. I've been off this site for a while as you see
I thought it was pretty good actually. As an adaptation, it did a pretty good job actually. The story was a little fast-paced of course, and I didn't really get into the characters as much as you would like. It was good though!
Are you planning to watch it?
Most of them were quite good and important in their own way for the second season.
The show itself was just good. I think the elements together such as excitement in the story, animation style, emotionality etc. have made their contribution, so I can like it.
The things that really bothers me, were the comedy and some bornig scenes.

I currently have quite a lot of free time and can not complain...
Higurashi (your suggestion) is quite nice so far. The different stories are really exciting! The Animation style is acceptable but the comedy elements are quite annoying for me.
Gurren Lagann is even worser in my opinion, the comedy is absolutely unacceptable, the characters are quite silly and the animations style is quite childish. But I am
only at episode 1, maybe it gets better later on. But so far it is absolutely nothing for me.
