This series is downright hilarious and definitely not cliche. The main female lead is a professional roaster, and the main male lead is just so nosy and his facial expressions are hilarious! I found myself cracking up every single page. It also breaks the cliche shoujo image of a "couple" and gives a little bit more real perspective to how couples truly act. The storyline is great and the age gap can be odd, but you get used to it and actually find yourself rooting for the main female lead. I'll give it a 10, to show how serious I recommend you read this.

In all honesty, I did not expect Takane to Hana to be this good. I expected it to be a pretty decent shoujo among the rest but I was very wrong.
From the synopsis, it is understood that Hana went to her older sister's Miai/omiai with Takane (wedding arrangement) in place of her older sister. Everyone is in the arrangement meeting is unaware that Hana is the wrong person for this arrangement. The story is unique, to say the least. Before reading I assumed that Hana would just be a typical shojo MC where she fawns over the guy and its cliche but that couldn't be farther ... Dec 15, 2021
Takane to Hana review
A story about a Teenage girl who replaces her sister (Flaked due to having a boyfriend) with an arranged meeting with a high profile CEO of the largest corporation in Japan. You've read shoujo manga you know the type. However immediately he's rude to her so she also is rude to him and leaves in a huff. However with his pride being hurt and horrified how a women hasn't fallen for him cuz of his existence being existing, he will now try to woo her constantly through the weirdest way possible. She annoyed with him though finding him funny due to extravagance ... Jan 4, 2020
This manga was fun with really cool retorts and many different facial expressions of Takane and Hana. It was just until the first half of the manga.
After that it felt like the story is being dragged with pointless twists. There’s nothing called ‘seriousness’ in this story which is fine. But there are some times where I expected something that’s not funny and the characters take some moments seriously. It’s a gag manga but does not exactly look like one. Hana’s character was the best in the beginning and now it’s the most annoying character. Especially with the pointless plot. Takane’s character has been so ... Sep 17, 2016
This manga took me by surprise. I was expecting a typical shoujo romance manga but instead was pleasantly surprised by the plot, art style and COMEDY. Believe me, this manga will not disappoint in the comedy department, you will find yourself cracking up at various parts.
From the beginning it had a funny set up. A 16 yo high school girl fills in for her older sister in meeting a 26 year old for a "MIAI" which is like two people meeting up for a possible marriage match. From the beginning the two main characters have an interesting meeting and from that very first incident up ... Jan 19, 2016
I am writing a review for this manga because I recently began reading it and realised that there were no reviews prior to this. This is an enjoyable manga in which a 16 year old high school student is forced to attend a miai instead off her older sister. At the miai she meets an arrogant, narcisistic business man who is 26 years old and is going to be the next head of the company. The meeting occurs in a funny way from the start and their relationship is a humorous love hate relationship. The 2 of them are always teasing each other and share

Takane and Hana is easily the best manga I have ever read. That is a BOLD statement. To give you an idea, my favorite manga include Parasyte, The Promised Neverland, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Attack on Titan. I have tried to read several slice of life or shoujo manga, and they are all, either
1) painful to trudge through, as nothing eventful ever happens, and half the time they never even express their feelings. I’m always expecting some great redemption at the end, to reward me for the garbage 12+ volumes I just endured, and they fade out even more pathetically, which has caused me to ... Mar 31, 2023
Plot
A highschool girl (female MC 15 years) had to pretend to be her elder sister in an arranged marriage setting with the heir (male MC 26 years) of a conglomerate. our MC is arrogant and insults her (using too much makeup, only here for his money etc..), which leads her to get angry at him. MC loves her "fiesty" attitude and starts courting her to make her fall for him. she wants to do the opposite. and this is a journey to a scandalous relationship between an adult business man and a high school girl. Age Gap Romance lets get to the point. ... Feb 6, 2018
Surprisingly not a dumb story and is one of my favorite manga's i'v read in recent time.
I came in expecting dumb plot and 1 note cliched characters. But the two Main Characters in this are really awesome together. The designs is nice and the comedic timing is also pretty great. ~~SPOILERS~~ The only complaint i have happened at the current chapter ( 31-32) The grandfather taking away all the money is stupid and even the money that the guy earned himself. Also him having to live in a run down apartment and even working much lower place in his work. ~~SPOILERS~~ ... Aug 23, 2023
This is a simple story of a highschool girl and a rich guy heir to a fortune, rather it's not that simple.
This managa is surprisingly good and is a treasure trove of true rom-com, because it has no chapter that is not wholesome and also makes you laugh. This simple story that starts with some arrangement marriage meeting, is both wholesome and comedic. The bonus stories and the 4-koma stories at the end of chapters are just cherry on top of this amazing reading experience this manga provides. The art is very appealing and at times it's only the art that makes one giggle. Both ... May 30, 2020
Everytime i reading this manga it have made me either laughing like a madman or suppressed the laughter using pillow. it was so damn funny especially the early part of manga between Takane and Hana. Takane the typical rich conglomerate is narcissistic usually but also an attention seeker ,always to show his best side to Hana to make her forfeit by admitting her feeling to him ,in meantime Hana the miai partner is the normal schoolgirl who using blunt remark and takane weakness as her weapon to make him fall in love with her. So the problem is? Both are thick headed and tsunderes And...

This manga is so good that I am in a major manga-reading slump now. I can’t find anything that is this hilarious, entertaining, or surprising. Takane to Hana is an absolute masterpiece. The banter between Takane and Hana is hilarious and every chapter is shocking, new twists and turns keep popping up and it makes you really want to know what happens next. The comedy makes me laugh every chapter, and it’s not your typical romance. Takane is a rich businessman and Hana is a high school student. She’s not interested in him at all at first but as they get to know each other

Put aside the ridiculous background story of a 30 year old gal hanging out with a high schooler, I would say the story overall is decent. It is light-hearted, easy to understand, maybe lacks a little bit of drama and cuddling scenes and is hilarious here and there. The jokes are not that funny but just enough to make me laugh once in a while, I personally do not like the jokes about "commoners", just feel it way too disrespectful sometimes.
Art is not impressive, pretty decent, I wish it were more memorable. Characters are not developed well either. Except for the footballer boy the ... |
