Slip and slides and but chugs away to the finish line.
**This review contains Spoilers for the previous Series (Tokyo Ghoul). Also Includes Spoilers for upto volume 5. I have to spoil one of the major Reveal to kinda talk about the series.**
TG ended with Kaneki losing to Arima losing his memories and becoming a Ghoul Investigator. He now goes by Haise. Becomes the very thing that were trying to destroy him in the past. Now he's gotta work for CCG and Fight what he originally considered Family. So you have Kaneki playing the role what Amon played in the original series. More or
...
less. There is something new here which is the Quinxes. An artificially created half ghouls by the CCG to be utilized against Ghouls. However as the story unfolds more and more we see a lot of subplots, character interactions where the series becomes far more than just a simple extermination program.
Tokyo Ghoul: RE starts out strong. The beginning is very reminiscent of the quiet nature that TG had at times paced well with Jaw dropping moments with carnage that drown out the dialogue on screen. TG:RE at the start is what it does best. But sadly this is just gone far too quick. As I read more and more of the series it drops off in pacing, character, subplots and overall quality. It's very depressing to see a series you love be somewhat of a shell of its former self.
I don't hate this series. I very much like it. But the quality difference between TG and TG:RE is very noticeable not just in regards to the story but art as well. There is a lot of drag style art. Where it looks like a sketchy mess especially for one of the support characters Urie. I get that Urie is one of the more self centered characters and talks to himself a lot. The author tries to show this kind of unhinged behavior through a sketchy art but it just becomes a jumbled mess. Especially since Ishida's art is spectacular. It just looks like a mess next to it.
Reading TG:RE I get why people say the fight scenes are hard to follow. I mentioned its because of the Drag that the author decides to add during the fights scenes. This was not a problem in the original series. The art quality overall has improved but the way certain things are drawn has been more of a downscale.
I don't mean to constantly compare the series to the original. I say the series is worse in most regards... in comparison to the original series. I still very much enjoy the series. The story and characters and action are great. Just not as good as the original.
Besides the art I don't think I can name something I liked about this series more than the original. The characters aren't more memorable, the story is much of a jumbled mess. There are several twists and character revivals that I simply did not care about. In fact there were times I had completely forgotten that this character had died. While on the opposite end too many characters survive. You lose that monstrosity in the original that named characters died. Like a lot of them. It was ballsy and constantly kept you on your toes. There was some of that in the beginning but sadly it wanes later on.
There is a comparison with Descending Stories to be made here. You could argue there are many things that are done subtly in both of these series yet in Descending stories, It's "missing the point" but in Tokyo Ghoul its poor writing. What I'm trying to say is that Descending Stories fanbase can go fuck themselves.
There are also plenty of subplots that were just not resolved. The Garden isn't properly explained or shown. We never get the full scope of V. There were some characters that the author forgot and there were some characters that I forgot. Shachi was a very strong character and I was thinking his character never gets resolved but it does... I just forgot...
1 fight scene we don't get to see and I am very disappointed in that. After everything we didn't get to see THIS fight. WHYYYYY. I feel like some characters were wildly wasted as well. They were introduced but had no real value either.
I did lie a little bit in this review. I said there isn't anything more memorable in this series in comparison to the original besides the art. This is incorrect. There is a godlike chapter that completely Justifies this entire manga. A chapter that makes me thing God is real. It defies all logic. Betrays all expectations and breathes life in the most beautiful way possible. You know what I'm talking about.
Overall. I Liked this manga. Its copy pasting the original, It is moving forward the story but It is still a weaker version of the original. It loses the Dichotomy between Ghouls and Humans except till the end. The action scenes are messier. Too many Characters Introduced. But I still the enjoyed the hell out of this series. And I think you would to. 7/10

Edgy, ridiculous and hella fun. Tokyo Ghoul hits most of the right notes. Even if it fumbles on other aspects.
It feels kind of weird to review a manga that I've already read. Especially since there is a lot more smaller details that you pick up. This review contains some spoilers till vol. 6. Since there is a shift in story after the Aogiri arc (which ends in volume 8). I will try to remain somewhat spoiler free but be warned.
Ghouls are creatures that look like human, Breathe like humans, Reproduce like ones but are not humans. They have overall physical superiority factor on top of
...
having crazy abilities depending on what they are. However the reason they are exterminated in this society is because they need to eat human meat to survive. Our Protagonist, Kaneki gets wooed by Rize, a ghoul pretending to be human. However before he can get eaten, steel beams fall on her and she dies. Now her organs have been transplanted into Kaneki and Kaneki has become a half ghoul half human.
Kaneki has to get used to what it means to be a ghoul. Since Ghouls can't eat normal food they all taste like hot garbage. He realizes that he is gaining a massive hunger for Human meat, a rabbit hole he doesn't want to fall into. Throughout the series we see Kaneki get stronger by utilizing his Ghoul powers as well as he's demeanor changing due to his Ghoul's desires. He meets new friends, allies and realizing that his organ transplant may not have been a coincidence after all.
I really like this manga. The major aspect of the series that I like is the Dichotomy between Ghouls and the CCG. The CCG are basically an Anti-Ghoul, but they aren't monsters or typical villains. If anything they are the typical good guys. The Ghouls are the ones eating humans, They are trying to do anything to stop him. The person that shows this best is Amon who is Kaneki of the Doves (Specific Name for the Ghoul Exterminators). He represents The good of the Doves. He is what is humanizing the Doves whiles Kaneki is humanizing the Ghouls. They have a rivalry throughout the series. With Amon questioning the disposition of the Ghouls due to him. They have such a good relationship I really hope to see more of something like that in the sequel.
The action scenes of the series is fantastic, bloody, violent every 14 year olds dream. Edgy as hell but in an enjoyable way. The art just strengthens the OMPF moments and does such a good job of it. I've seen people mention that the action scenes are a little hard to follow. I wouldn't really say so. At least not on the level I would say "a little difficult".
The biggest bad of the series relatively is Arima. Which is the No. 1 Dove in the entire CCG. Top dog as it were. And Holy shit does it show. There is just chapters of the author just drawing this guy's dick and swinging it around. When this guy shows up The Ghouls run. That's how fucking intense it is.
The story however and how its revealed to me is the reason why you should read Tokyo Ghoul. It is one of a kind not because it has an original concept, but rather because it utilizes so well. Kaneki's transformation to a ghoul, his choice to what to do next, His mental capacity declining all these things are such a joy to watch. You feel his pain every chapter and its exhausting as it is incredible.
I'm a bit upset on some of the fights and some of the side characters ended up being sidelined. The series obviously also ends with a bunch of questions unanswered with a full intention to making a sequel, But its a relatively small thing considering the series as a whole. Kaneki becoming the Monster he was destined to become is what makes this series.
Tokyo ghoul is fantastic. I've noticed so many little details re reading the manga but even if you didn't you'd still enjoy the hell out of this manga. Addicting, crazy and full of twists and turns to keep you engaged. 8/10 Tokyo Ghoul is one of a kind.

An enjoyable premise with interesting characters. Even if the ending was lackluster.
The series is about a mangaka that drew a series with the intention of killing one of the main characters by the end of it. Now working a deadline and finally reaching the final page that will give the climax of the series. The author gets sucked in his own manga and the main character who was supposed to die by the end of it is having none of it. Now the author needs to find his way back to the real world as well as realizing that the backstories he created may have
...
been too cruel. Not to mention what happens when the villains realize that they are toys made for others amusement.
The premise of the series is fantastic. The characters are likable especially the main heroine. But sadly this all feels short lived. I get that nothing could be done especially if you read the ending but its still distraught to learn that this doesn't actually have a proper ending. I get why. I do. But that doesn't make it all better. Like I know Act age could've been something really special but that doesn't change the fact that it will never get an ending. Pretending what could have been and reality are 2 different things.
You can read this manga in 30 minutes but that's because there is no filler, It's pure quality except the underage nudity/murder part which sucks ass and feels completely fucking unnecessary. The reason this series is such a standout is due to the unique ideas and META it keeps bringing. But not in a comedic way but a clever way something that also falls naturally in the plot as the story is unfolding.
This isn't a magical perfect series. But the villain the conflict and overall tone of the series is very enjoyable to read. Like I said the ending is kinda shit but its not a big deal and honestly I'd still recommend the series.
I thought the villain was actually pretty good. But I found the 2nd antagonist to not be as entertaining. But what can you do when you only have 350 pages.
To conclude I think Satoshi-kun has created something special here. I don't believe that if this manga was longer it would be better but I don't disbelieve it either. A lot of times people get caught up in the what-ifs especially when talking about short lived series. This particularly comes up with jump series but If the series was good from the beginning it wouldn't have been axed just like all the other popular series behind it. The reason behind this series cancellation is a bit more special but It is useless to talk about what If's rather than just enjoy what we can enjoy.
There really is nothing else I can say about the series. Except you know go read it. It's pretty good.
Overall enjoyable series. Not a masterpiece but still good. 7/10

An excellently crafted series that keeps you entertained. Also Incest. Like a lot.
Suicides, Rape, Incest, Cooking, Love triangle, More Rape, More Incest, Sex, Nudity, Violence, Socially acceptable incest, Socially unacceptable incest and Murder but enough about me. Let's talk about the manga.
The series set early in 1605 when the red pox disease that takes the lives of many men reducing the male population to 1/5th. Women outnumbering men from 5 to 1. In a patriarchal society this results in a massive shift of workforce and social behavior somewhat. The political figures become women. The breadwinners become women, the workforce in itself becomes a massive shift.
...
This story specifically however is about the shogun. Political leaders and merchants that were originally led by men have now been replaced by women. The shogun which now have become woman. As a king or a leader of course you have an absurd of women to impregnate but with the roles reversed, the shogun now has an abundant of men to be used as stallions. These men live in the Chambers Known as Ooku. This what the manga pretty revolves around more or less.
A good aspect of the series is that you only need to read volume 1 or not to realize whether or not this manga is worth reading. Though the manga does get better it really is more of what you see in volume 1 with more characters and bigger twists and higher stakes. Its fantastic and exceptional. Genuinely I have not enjoyed a manga as much as I have in quite a long time.
The series revolves around the shogun and there love interests essentially. The main shogun (FMC depending on which year) and either the consort or Main concubine (The MMC). Now the reason I mention depending on the year is because the series does not actually have a main character. It spans an era of 300 years in 19 volumes. We go through so many characters it can become a mess but its so continuously engaging as well.
The 3 big issues I have is that, There is no Main character, No 1 person journey to follow, The dialogue is incredibly dense. If you have read western comic books you know what I'm talking. Each volume that takes me 20 minutes to read would take me 1 hour or more to read. Not to mention each volume is 220+ pages. It can get literally exhausting read that much. I recommend a bottle of water next to you and of course the reason you might have heard before. The archaic use of the Language. Old english does not bode well. But personally this is not a big deal. You can understand the words via the context given. I do believe there is very little usage of the Old English as well especially in the later volumes. Perhaps this is a show of the fact that the world in the manga has changed. So pretty clever but irrelevant as well.
There is a lot to unpack about this series. The male characters suffer from the red pox disease so we have less men and more women that need to step up. I'm a bit disappointed in the role reversal though tbh. Maybe it was the author's point that power and money is what changes the world not the gender but regardless there is a little change. Since men did most of the heavy lifting type work they have set a precedent on how much work needs to be done. To make up this gap there has been slight technological advances to gain the same rewards as men but that was it.
The characters are by far the most enjoyable aspect. Each character has a finesse or is followed by character development that makes them have finesse. It is such a joy reading each story about every character. Like I mentioned before there is no main character but there is tons of individual arcs to follow. Some of the stories you read are insane filled with incest, rape and just a whole bunch of addictive nonsense. It is an excellent that takes its time (perhaps too much sometimes) to develop and showcase each character's individual personalities and characteristics and this is exactly despite not having a main character, each character went through that I wanted to see fully.
There is a character that is no nonsense business. Dealing with political rifts while giving birth to a baby. A women in love with her mother's lover, A women molested by her father and it just goes on. Either with events that occur to them, or be the events that occur due to them shift them into the character they become and we see that change and its glorious.
When we get a stereotypically unattractive character that is meant to be the focus the series focuses on other things such as cooking with a more sexually enticing cast instead. The political battles are just as entertaining but it is more hard to keep track due to the confusing names and similar character designs that some characters end up being plagued by.
I also love the costume designs in this series. the costume designs are *chefs Kiss*. Fantastico in every way. So many call backs when you least expect it. The series hooks you in far deeper than i anticipated.
Also Threesomes. Not tell me this series isn't a masterpiece.
I love this series I really do. This is why I read manga. Yeah it has its problems but these are nitpicks in regards to overall quality. I truly believe this is one of the better manga I have read to this day. Do yourself a favour and read this manga.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team Review. Somewhat underwhelming considering the popularity of Gundam.
This series contains some spoilers till Episode 6 (Roughly). Because thats how long it takes for the main plot to start back up again.
MS Team is about a group of soldiers and there commander Shiro (The MMC) and the enemy's commander's younger sister Aina (The FMC). They originally meet in the first episode and are nice to each other despite being on the opposite ends and trying to kill each other just moments earlier. Surprised at the humanity from each other they promise to meet again and stuff. Now with that
...
interesting start out of the way we are now going to sharp left turn and develop characters no one is going to give a shit about. This series starts decently enough but we get this development on characters I don't like for like 4 episodes and this is a very downwards in quality. The rest of the series is quite good. but the 4 episodes bring it down a notch.
The romance is passable. I'm honestly pretty disappointed you have the main characters confessing there love for each other. But they met once. They didn't even like fall in love at first sight. They Just met and boom they wanna start a family. What the fuck, even shoujo romance isn't this lazy come on. I did like some of there intimacy but you would expect more. This does not pass the bar for minimum romance. Regardless I accept it.
The action in this series is a hit or miss. I don't like how slow the characters move sometimes. They use guns and its not as enjoyable to watch just these big mecha army just shooting machine guns. What is fun is when they are punching each other. Steel smashing Steel. This is why you watch a mecha series. Some of the gun fights were also good. There are some inconsistencies as well but thats not really an issue as long as it looks cool. Sometimes the can move fast but if that is the case why don't they do it all the time.
The series also starts in space so why does the rest of the anime set on earth. Really got upset over that. Feel like I got blue balled.
But the strongest part of this series is still the Music. The Music always hypes me up. Every time I'm like, I wanna do something else BABABABA. It just grabs me back in. The music just kills and its so entertaining when the music perfectly aligns up with the action on screen Emotional or otherwise.
Post episode 6 we also say the effects of war, death and Obessession and again this is the part where the series became enjoyable It just kinda sucks that it takes so long to get there. In a series that only has 12 episodes 3 episodes of bullshit is a lot.
Character wise, It has a red head tomboy because other type of Tomboy's don't exist in Japan. It has this pervert who is unlikable as many series do. It has a Naive dude who i'm not actually sure did anything in the series. Also I completely forget there was like an attempt of a love triangle that didn't go anywhere. Guess when that happened. The Boring episodes that when.
I do hope this isn't the best that Gundam has to offer. But I have seen many people refer to this as one of there favourite Gundam series which is more than a tad disappointing. In the end I like the series. The characters were actually the weakest part of a series I liked which is rare.
Overall Its nothing special but it is an enjoyable time Killer nonetheless. 6/10

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu | Descending Stories Season 2 Review. Spoilers for Season 1 + S2EP1-2
https://anilist.co/review/15670 Review for Season 1
With the flashback finally over we can get back to the main story. Our MMC is continuing to rise up in the ranks of Rakugo. His shows being more and more popular. Him becoming more and more successful. The MMC2 (Yakumo) is having his old age catch up to him. The FMC gives birth and the story moves on. We learn a little bit more about the MMC's backstory and his Yakuza related people. His relationship with the FMC also becomes more romantic but in a
...
subtle way.
Before I start talking about this series, I do wanna talk about my previous review as well. When I wrote my original review, Something happened that hadn't happened in a long time. Something I forget happens when I write my reviews. I pissed some people off. I had gotten too comfortable. However there is a distinction in comparison to my previous reviews that I my previous review was positive. It ends with me saying that you should watch the series. So why are people are riled up?
Well from what I can tell the problem is the fact that I did not analyze the series enough. There is a lot of nuances and subtlety in play in here that is going way over my head. Unlike most people that are just spouting shit there was someone that explained what they meant instead of copy pasting words they found in the dictionary. Honestly, I don't particularly about that stuff either. Which I feel is a fair assumption to make. You can write 70 pages on why the main character is wearing a blue shirt but that doesn't make it more interesting or more enjoyable to watch. That is the difference. I do like understanding the nuances and the little details but these are still little details and I don't think they are enough to justify it being a masterpiece.
I do appreciate the show a bit more now but not enough to change my overall score of the series. For example The impact of the war are not bashed into you like other media. The effects are simply shown. Japan fought a good fight and lost. Shouwa Rokugo's silence in scenes speaks volumes though. No one ever says "I'm sorry". They know. Its still a solid 7.5. Still something you should watch at least once. But Its also dragged down by stuff that I frankly just didn't give enough of a shit about.
This series however is... mildly worse than Season 1. I really liked the character dynamics of Yakumo and his best friend but the MMC doesn't have that kind of relationship with anyone. He has a closer relationship with his master (Yakumo) but that didn't really scream a strong dynamic. Its good, great even, but nothing on the level of Yakumo and his shounen rivalry.
There really isn't anything major that happens in the series that I can't really say without spoilers. I mean I liked the characters. I enjoyed the story, The relationship between the characters in a nice way without it feeling like they needed a major catalyst to change there relationship. I also especially got bored around episode 8. Which is why I considered the series mildly worse. To me this where the series kinda ended and we are just in this incredibly long epilogue. There is also the issues of Shin's father that gets kind of addressed and I really hate what the author has done with this question. Fuck the author.
Like I said I felt bored after episode 8 and the reason for that is just I stopped enjoying the SOL moments of the series. I liked them in the first season yeah. But here it just didn't do enough to keep me entertained. I kept waiting for the main story to hit.
Writing this review I feel confused. I did like most of the series. There is some random garbage here and there but a lot of what other people told me also feels I'm missing something about the series. But I also feel like that's bullshit. Not that I missed anything but the fact that me missing something would completely change my enjoyment of the show. Again I want to state I quite liked the series. It falls somewhat in episode 8 but its not a big deal. I still think the series is great. Even after finding out what I missed about the series I'm indifferent. I feel like people are putting too much strain on the fine details like how I'm focusing on the technicalities of the show sometimes.
In the end I don't know. I don't believe I watched the show wrong. The author does not decide how his audience perceives and views his show. Otherwise everyone would have the same fucking opinion on everything and that's just not how it works. Look at like this. I don't care about the small details and the relative bullshit that people seem to be making up about the series. But lets also add that I'm completely wrong for having these thoughts. I still think the series is good and something worth watching. You can just enjoy the surface value of what the show has offer. What I'm trying to say is...
Watch the series. Its good. 7/10

The First Episode (Director's Cut) is Spoiled. And Some Light Spoilers for the purpose of this review.
Rakugo is a series about an ex-Yakuza that tries to become a famous Rakugo's student (I'mma call this guy MMC2). So MMC Tries super hard to become MMC2's apprentice. And surprisingly he's like "Fo shizzle. Get in the limo my man". And now he has an apprentice. He meets his adopted daughter (?) and basically its these 3 living in this house practicing Rakugo. Well that's I presumed what it was going to be but that changed very fast when the daughter screams in agony that MMC2 killed her
...
father and she wants revenge. Because an alive parent is an alien concept to the Japanese. With this revelation they now do a flashback revealing the past for the entire fucking season.
Season 1 is basically an extended flashback. You don't get back to the MMC and FMC till like the end of the last episode. Which results in 2 problems. First of all we did not need to know that the father died. Though I quite liked the start the idea to give a flashback instead kinda just threw off all the momentum and had to start from scratch again. Though the series was able to pick up momentum again I don't understand why we had to suddenly shift to watching a prequel. There were also times where there was a flashback inside another flashback....
Non-Chronological story telling feels utterly unnecessary because you reveal these character deaths or these twists that would've been amazing instead you show it to us first and then you give us the character development needed to actually be invested in these characters. When they finally revealed why she blamed MMC2 for her father's death and causes around it. I could not help but laugh. It's a very dramatic moment that is bogged down by the utter ridiculousness of the situation.
With that being said... This is a good series. One that I would wholeheartedly recommend.
The Characters are enjoyable to watch. There is comedy that doesn't feel like its shoved in at the most inopportune times possible. And we actually get to see the entire shows of Rakugo. I'm not exactly sure what is the difference between a Rakugo or a play is. It seems pretty much the same thing except there are less set pieces. The Entertainment is much more on a smaller scale and can be performed with just 1 person. The focus is on the sound and Facial reactions to the story.
Like I said before the Flashback is the main arc which explains the story of the MMC2, the father of the FMC and the Girl trapped in between. The MMC2 and the father of the FMC (Let's call him MMC3) are actually rivals, because this is a Shonen anime now, apprenticing under the same Rakugo Teacher. As the story more and more unravels we see more of there relationship together, how they view their own lives and how they treat the people around them. I think there relationship is definitely the highlight of most of the series. It feels like 2 brothers rather than 2 friends. So very good job on the author for showcasing that.
The Girl in between character (FMC2)... was quite poor. Her role was literally to get in between the 2 characters. She didn't have her own goals, she didn't really do anything. Even in one scene she admits she likes assholes (the Personality not the body part). Which MMC2 very much was. As the story progresses you can sort of guess more and more easily as where as this going but like I mentioned before when the Climax hits, its just very underwhelming. It feels stupid rather than anti-climatic. Its no unimpressive just ridiculous.
Overall I did enjoy the series. The main theme of the show was engaging and didn't feel like an after thought. I felt like the director was actually a fan of Rakugo rather than someone who just animated it for money. The characters relationships were good and the romance was lackluster but also acceptable. I guess the main story that was progressing was something I didn't like Partially because we weren't watching the story progress, we were watching a prequel. In the end we do go back to actual main character but that part of the story is reserved for Season 2. Which I'm pretty excited to watch.
7/10 - Worth watching at least once. Even if it isn't some profound masterpiece.

A series that forget what the main plotline was.
Some light spoilers in this review upto vol. 12. Nothing super major, because the main story actually takes a small break before getting back into it.
The series is about Delivering Letters... Mostly. They're 3 main concepts to the series. The artificial Sun, Being the best bee & delivering letter and killing Gaichuu's which is the main enemy of the series.... I think. It's not entirely clear. The idea here is that the chads, the Main characters are people who deliver letters known as the Letter Bee's. However letters here are more than just simple words on
...
a piece of paper but rather contain their heart or piece of their soul. Letter Bee's have a weapon called a shindan which uses the user's own heart/soul to shoot. They use there dingo's (sidekicks) find the weak points of Gaichu's and the Bee's shoot them dead with there Shindan. That's basically the story for the first 15 volumes until the author realized that the actual main story about the main character's mother was also a thing and very abruptly came back to it.
The main character is a very uncharismatic character for like 18 volumes of the series. A constant crybaby that really destroys the emotional weight this story could've had. When a scene does require him to cry it just falls flat due to how much you cannot take the main character seriously anymore. Its disappointing but what can you do. You can choose to not read the manga. That's a bright idea.
The action and the story was actually very underwhelming. Though I was initially interested in the story, the way it was unraveled was one of most boring and poorly paced ways ever. The story is 2 fold. 1 is finding the truth about the MMC"s mother and what happened to her. Why she was taken to the capital. However we talk a long break from this main story to fuck around. For about 10 volumes there is this big fucking gaichu that attacks peoples hearts. Huge problem but this guy is fucking annoying. Its literally a giant monster with no absolute personality. He's not vicious either. The *taking heart* basically borrows the people's soul so when the MC can inevitably defeat it they can return back. This completely destroys any sort of tension the you may get when the characters themselves are in no real danger.
The things I enjoyed about the series was the characters and world building which also fucks right off. However the actual solid moments of character interactions are just constantly bogged down with information about shit I don't care about. Imagine you are playing a video game and you pick a codex that's underneath a bed that tells you the minute details about shit you can't even connect to. That is the main dialogue of tegami bachi between characters. It sucks too because they are some great characters they are just severly underutilized. Jiggy Pepper and the Bearded Dingo were probably the best characters in the series.
The MMC"s Dingo Niche was a problem as well. I quite liked her as well. She was funny and had some decent action scenes. There is a running joke where she doesn't wear underwear which would be fine when its done once.... Not the amount the author decided to shove in to the point that it became very uncomfortable.
I was under the impression this was a good series but not a single person has told me this was a good manga so far as I was Live reacting on discord. Everyone told me that it was boring and I can see why. There are many characters that get sidelines, many plotlines that get dropped out of knowhere. It is incredibly disappointing.
If there is 1 refuge I can say about the quality of the series, its the quality of the ending. The ending is ballsy. Yes everything leading up to the ending was an asspull and the way the actual ending occurred was also an asspull. But the consequence that occurred did make me think, ok yeah, this is a decent ending to the series. Its not a well written series but the ending did take some balls. Either that or the author realized that he should just throw some action on the screen.
Overall. I'm disappointed. Gonna go back to playing Hades. At least that was entertaining. Due to the ending I did consider giving the series a 5/10 because I'm not made of stone damn it. However... Considering I've typed all of this out, they were moments where I did enjoy the series it was just far too few in between and if push comes to a shove I would not recommend this series.

Tegami Bachi Season 1 Review: Pretty Middling tbh. Nothing really that stood out.
The Series is set in steampunk world where the Chads are Mailmans. In this world they are called Letter Bee, or Tegami Bachi. They go around delivering Letters which carry people's hearts. Each Letter Bee has 2 main components. Their Gun which is capable of shooting there *metaphorical* heart and there Dingo which is like a sidekick. The story follows our main character who wants to find his hero who saved 7 years before we begin our story. So alongside his trusty Dingo who is an underage girl who refuses to wear underwear
...
because this is Japan and we have no choice in the matter.
So When I say I found the series Middling I did lie a little bit. The setting of this series is very interesting. The desert is unironically kind of peaceful too look at. Until the Gaichu show up. Which are basically sand monsters. But Victorian style buildings and locations. As well as the outfits really add an immersion to the series you don't really see. If you guys think I'm praising something small and trying to make it much bigger than I should. That's because I am. Nonetheless good setting.
Now the action is pretty hit or miss. Mostly due to how it was handled. The action is a one hit finisher type thing. Where the Letter Bee's charge up there attack to hit the single weak point of the Gaichu. Some are fun, most are ok, some are shit. Its not really anything tbh. The Dingo here is meant to be capable of revealing the Gaichu's weak point so the Letter Bee's can attack. This is basically all of the fight scenes in the series.
Now the main character is... quite annoying. His hero that helped him 7 years ago was more charismatic then him. The main reason for that is because this guy cries so fucking much. Every Episode its the same shit. He just crying over and over and over again. Now I get it, he's 12, he's not supposed to be strong or whatever. But realism doesn't mean its enjoyable. If i wanted to watch a bunch of kids whine like little shits I'd go to the park or look in the mirror or hang around r/anime.
I actually quite like the Dingo character. She is honestly adorable however. The, I'm not wearing underwear joke, was funny the first time. But Not subsequently.... I do hope this isn't a major problem continuing the series.
Really the only episode that actually felt fresh was the last episode. Where not only the story moved forward but we got to see something different or something unique. I didn't hate the previous episodes either. But they just felt mundane. I don't mean to use the word boring but maybe redundant would be better.
The series also has quite some filler. Do Note you don't have to watch the OVA that came before the series. As a remake of that OVA is made into Episode 17. So don't make the same mistake I did. The filler episodes themselves were actually fine. They kept in tone with the theme, the main characters. In the end the fillers weren't the problem. I honestly wouldn't be able to discern the quality of the filler episodes from the canon episodes.
As far as Season 1 goes. I'm disappointed. Not angry, just disappointed. Considering how the series ended though I am interested in watching Season 2. I was told that it actually shifts from the manga entirely so lets see how the anime handles the ending.
Overall. 5/10. Its fine. No strong opinions on this one so far.

There are some Spoilers in this Review. About 4 volumes or so.
Hey Hey People, Shell Here.
Deadman Wonderland starts with a massacre of our Protagonist's class and with him being the main culprit's and Japan's incredibly questionable police force he gets the death Penalty. However in 2013 there was a big earthquake which caused 70% of Tokyo to be submerged in Water. Now to restore Japan's to its former Glory a Prison Named Deadman Wonderland which is a for profit prison. And now 10 years since the earth quake, Ganta (MC) is sent here to suffer the wrath of his consequences. He soon realizes that this

prison is more than what it seems and Just how much of a circus a for Profit Prison can be.
Deadman Wonderland is pretty by the book series. MC is a nice guy. Follows girls around/vice versa. Realizes what he knows wasn't the truth. Deals with the situation where everyone wins. Rinse and repeat for some subplots and bam you got a 13 volumes series. Now don't get me wrong, Despite me stating this I didn't actually think the series was repeating itself. It always felt like the story was moving forward. Stopping to give proper breathing room. The problem are a few things but First I'd like to talk about what I liked the series.
The Art and setting of this series is fantastic. It felt like I was being sucked in another world. A lot of this can be attested to the fantastic art the series has. It really does a fantastic job. I honestly have nothing but praise for the art. Never did it feel like the author was cutting corners.
This is also one of the battle shounen series where the ecchi actually is separate from the action and the author isn't trying to shove panties and breasts into my face every 5 seconds. Characters do get occasionally sexual but more during exposition to keep me interested. And you know what? It works because I'm a red hot blooded male damn it!
The main issue I have with this series basically boils to character Depth or more importantly, the lack of it. Sure the action and art is great to look at but after a while what's the point of If I don't care about the characters. That is the main problem with Deadman wonderland. Both Shiro (FMC) and Ganta were fine as the main characters but neither of them can really carry the series. Them together was basically made in interesting enough since you partially knew where the story was going. Them alone... It just doesn't work.
This becomes a much bigger problem when you get into the last arc where the last fight is meant to be emotional rather than something bloody, violent or action heavy. Honestly the final fight scene was probably the more boring fight scene in the entire series.
Should You read this manga? Well depends. The side characters, action and story is interesting enough. But at the same time its predictable and lacks the character depth a series like Kingdom or One piece would produce.
Overall the series is enjoyable enough. I don't really have anything super bad to say about this series. But if you skip it you aren't missing much either. It just basically falls into enjoyable but forgettable zone of entertainment. 6/10.
