This manga had such an unexpected emotional response from me. To put it simply, I cried like a bitch.
In the beginning, the story develops pretty nicely. The relationship that developed between the main characters was organic and it was not forced or unrealistic. From there you get the typical drama that comes with romance manga. Love triangles, false betrayals, misunderstandings, crazy exes blah blah blah.
All of a sudden though, it becomes super dark and unexpected. SPOILER----> the rape scene was so frustrating on so many levels. The story makes it super light, as if its no big deal and all is forgiven just
...
because the crazy ex felt some type of way. WTF lol. Moving along after that, things were just moving way too fast and the drama seemed forced. The main character has some of the worst friends of all time lol.. seriously. They constantly blame her for things she had no kind of control over.
As far as the main characters go, they are annoying too. The female lead is wayyyyy too forgiving in my opinion. She also causes way more drama for herself by just not being upfront about what's going on. The male lead is also annoying because he constantly takes the stance of lying to you or not being honest all in the name of protecting you. Also causes more drama for himself than necessary.
After all that you get to the biggest part of the story, and that's when the crying like a bitch commences. Even though the story as a whole was not that great, I couldn't help but get super emotional towards the end. Primarily because of the subject matter, i think most people would feel emotional when something so uncontrollable occurs. Because it made me so emotional, I bumped it up to a 7. Other than that, I would've probably gave it a 5 or 6.
All in all, if you need a good cry. Just stick with it, because it will get you there.

I gave this manga a rating of "good" only because the concept was interesting. Other than that, I would say its just "fine." Something to read when you're bored and feel like reading something for the sake of just reading something.
The concept of the whole story is pretty interesting. A young girl is manipulated into making a deal with the devil to get her crush to notice her...that is how it all begins. Now I would like to say where the rest of the story goes, but I think there was an element of surprise in how things progressed so I will refrain. However,
...
I like how layers and layers were added to the original plot. That is what made the story interesting. It has quite a few biblical references and creates conflict between the concept of evil and good in a romantic way.
With that being said, this story lacks a lot. Firstly, there is not much depth at all. The dialogue between the characters is quite cheesy and as some others said, comical. The characters lack the complexity that a story like this would require to make it epic. It is all pretty basic and bland, so don't expect much. It sucks to say that because again, I really think the concept was the best part, but it lost the potential to be awesome because of how basic and quick everything was.
The art style really is not bad, I don't think there was much issue with this. It was easy to follow along, and the panel was done properly.
The characters, you have one bad guy, one good guy, one naive girl and a crow. There is not much else to say, nothing too major with these characters because they do follow their typical roles.
Like I said, this story had major potential but it wasn't executed that well, with that being said, it was not horrible.

This manga took me by surprise. I was expecting a typical shoujo romance manga but instead was pleasantly surprised by the plot, art style and COMEDY. Believe me, this manga will not disappoint in the comedy department, you will find yourself cracking up at various parts.
From the beginning it had a funny set up. A 16 yo high school girl fills in for her older sister in meeting a 26 year old for a "MIAI" which is like two people meeting up for a possible marriage match. From the beginning the two main characters have an interesting meeting and from that very first incident up
...
until the current volume, the banter between these two has continued and has actually remained funny.
The female lead is pretty awesome, she does not fit into the typical female shoujo character of being shy , timid and being dominated by the man. This girl will go tit for tat with this guy and her witty remarks are at times so unmatched in the funniest ways! lol (I am laughing just thinking about some of the scenes). The guy is also pretty unique, he comes off to be really full of himself but as the story progresses you can see that he has more to him than what is initially shown, plus no matter how cocky or arrogant he tries to be, it won't work because he has finally met his match!
I also like how they have progressed the relationship between these two in a more realistic manner than most mangas in this genre. They don't just jump into falling in love. The author takes time to really layer and nurture their connection throughout the chapters, which I think will make for a pretty satisfying connection in the end.
The art took some getting used to for me, at first there was just so much going on, but after a few chapters you can adapt pretty well and it becomes easier to follow along. The facial expressions were some of my favorite, they are so funny and I loved it!
I am not sure where the story will go as of yet because it is still ongoing, but if I had to pick one thing I would like to see in the coming chapters, It would be to dive into the major dilemma between these to which is the age difference. The last chapter explores that a bit; however, since this is primarily a comedic shoujo manga, most of it tends to be pretty light and fun, so I think it will be a good balance to explore those elements in a more serious and conflicted manner to really draw the reader in.
I was not expecting to give it such a high score, but I think it deserves it. I would definitely recommend reading this one. I look forward to seeing where the story goes and get ready for some laughs! :)

This is a pretty cute story. It is simple and fun. I think the overall concept of a Virgin High school student writing popular erotica novels in secret makes for a pretty interesting story.
The characters are pretty typical for the most part. The most unique aspect is what the girl does in secret but overall she follows a pretty typical female shouja character of being the shy , virgin high school girl that meets the handsome and popular standoff male lead. The guy is also pretty typical in being the misunderstood hot "bad boy" who gradually falls for the female but even though they
...
do follow traditional characters, the story is still a fun read.
Overall i think this manga is for peple who want a pretty simple and fun romance story. It is not boring so if you are looking for something easy going and kawaii, this will do it.

This manga is all about fashion, love, failure, success, loss and gains. I think it is unique because it takes some interesting twists and turns that are a bit unexpected. For one thing, the story itself is darker than you would expect in terms of exploring the characters pasts and present. I think that is what makes it a bit unique in comparison to all other fashion and love only type of romance mangas.
The characters develop pretty well throughout the story, there are layers added with each chapter and I like how the relationships develop. It does not start with two people just falling
...
in love. In fact, they have time to develop their relationship. There are moments in the story where they are even separated for long periods of time but instead of taking the cliche route where all they do is think about each other in agony, it actually takes a more natural route where it starts small and grows overtime.
At first the ending seems a bit predictable but it also has elements that take you by surprise. I will say though although it wasn't bad, it did seem a bit rushed on some parts. However, it is not to the point where it destroys the overall story.

This was a pretty decent manga with a pretty decent story line. It has enough drama to keep you interested and will make you want to finish it. With that being said most of it was pretty predictable.
If you are interested in reading a manga about two people who are determined to be together through various obstacles caused by pretty much the same character repeatedly, this will be for you. This story has to do a lot with starting from the bottom, making it to the top, losing it all and trying to get it back. Along with characters finding who they are and
...
building strength throughout the story within themselves and their love partners.
Overall, it's not bad. Don't expect any wow factors though.

This was a pretty cool manga. It's like a version of the ugly duckling, except this time the duckling wants revenge. If you are looking for a story on revenge, this is the one for you.
I think the story develops pretty well, there is enough of the backstory to put perspective onto everything which helps with the build up. I know some people don't like when things are drawn out, but I think when its a story about revenge, you want there to be a bit of build up and anticipation for the revenge plot to sweeten. You don't want it just served immediately
...
so they did a pretty good job pacing it all.
The female character on this one is pretty awesome, they do a good job of displaying various aspects of her character ranging from innocent, sweet, kind, loving to lustful, seductive and vengeful.
I also have to say I very much enjoyed the romance and love scenes in this one, they were steamy! It differs from the typical overpowering male forces the female type of scenes that are common in smut mangas, although there is a bit of that, this one adds a few more elements and reverses the roles a bit; which ended up being one of the best scenes in the manga.
Overall, this one is worth a read. The art is good, pacing is good, and the story development is also done well.

This was such a beautiful story. The tale of two people falling in love and displaying their deep love as they dance the tango with such passion. There are many elements about this story that draws you in from the Latin dances, the romance, fighting for survival, separation, politics, loss. They did a good job of including many elements of a good story without being overbearing.
The story itself was pretty good, it develops really well and you can't stop turning the page to find out what happens next.
The characters I think were developed pretty well, The female wasn't always helpless. She is head
...
strong and is willing to do whatever it takes to find her love, there is one scene where she becomes such a bad ass and I loved it. They also make her out to be quite enchanting when it comes to men, her dance moves draw them in and they often fall in love. The male lead also draws you in because of how passionate and artistic he is on top of being a bad ass which always rocks.
I enjoyed the art also, the author knows how to illustrate those beautiful dance moves which can be quite difficult, I can only imagine how beautiful an anime would be.
Overall, what I loved most are the artistic elements woven into the story. The passion displayed through intimate dances like the tango, along with the poetry as they speak about dancing, making love etc.
I enjoyed reading this and would recommend it.

This manga is so frustratingly confusing. The only reason I finished it is because I was hoping it was going to get better but before I knew it I was already in too deep and felt obligated to just finish it.
The story jumps around SO much, so much so that half way through you can't even understand what the direction or purpose of it all was. Seriously, it kind of sucked.
It seemed like the author was trying their best to give you all of these plot twists to enhance drama but it was all crap! Simply because there were just too many, and
...
it doesn't allow you to really process it before moving on to the next plot twist. Plus there was hardly any depth to it. It seemed like they just could not make up their mind about what direction they wanted to go with the story. Was so frustrating.
The art is good, but I do take issues with panels that are a bit difficult to follow and I think this manga had that issue. It was difficult to tell who was speaking.
Overall, I just can't recommend this one.

I literally just finished this manga about a half hr ago. I knew I was going to write a review on it, but I needed time to process it all because there certainly is a lot to say.
First and foremost, I have read several works by this author, the latest having been love celeb, where I felt there was an exaggerated and slight misrepresentation of how the entertainment industry is. With that said, it was still an enjoyable read. BUT I have to say, the author did a great job of representing what the the mafia world really can be like.
I have read
...
several reviews where people are utterly shocked and repulsed by the events in this manga, leading to very low ratings and quite cynical reviews..... and to some degree I understand. Because you SHOULD be repulsed, disgusted at times, heartbroken and constantly on an emotional roller-coaster. Especially those who have lived a very sheltered life and cannot even begin to comprehend that a mafia world is not a world full of rainbows and daisies. It can be (and often times) is a very cruel and unforgiving world and I think she represented that in this manga all the way until the end. If you read this manga hoping for a typical easy going love story.....sorry bud, but you came to the wrong place! I needed to emphasize that because I think several people have given this manga such a low rating b/c of how realistically cruel and immoral certain situations were. Which makes you feel guilty for even considering giving it a high rating, which is great bc it can affect you that much. However; I don't think it would be an accurate review of the overall story.
As far as the characters go, it isn't unique in the representation of the female heroin being naive and head over heels for the male character. If this story continued, I would've loved to see more complexity in how Kurami's (female lead) character develops and adapts to this harsh world. A part of me wanted her to adapt to the point where she slightly becomes a part of it, but then that would take away from the innocence of her role and I think at times there is strength that can grow from enduring so much pain. Anyone that can go through the stuff she goes through and can still stand, it's difficult to view them as "weak"...But getting a little more street smart would've been cool to see.
Hakuron ( male lead) I think his character is pretty bad ass. I like how the author takes you on a ride with this guy because you feel all kinds of things which can range anywhere from love to utter disgust and hate. I think considering the environment once again, it was good to give this character so much range.
As far as the relationship between these two go, you have to come to your own conclusion b/c it is at moments simple and lovely then before you know it, it becomes complex and dark and vice versa. Trying to understand becomes harder and harder as the story develops. The psychological analysis you run through your mind leaves you at moments wanting to cheer for them but on the flip side makes you feel guilty for even daring to consider such a thought. That's what i think makes it brilliant b/c it will take you on a ride and considering the circumstances, it can be difficult to process. The love they share is disturbing and twisted to say the least, but I think that is what's unique about it. Again, it is not meant to be a lovey dovey feel good manga, this shit is hardcore fucked up in more way than one, but for some reason in this dark and twisted fantasy.....you do still sense the romantic sides of it.
Some situations can get a bit repetitive, thanks to the continued ignorance of the female character.... which can be a bit frustrating, but hey, it does stick to her intended role of being naive to this world so it makes some sense. Plus, although you feel at some points you want her to "man up" I can't help but feel like if her character started to change in that way, then it will divert from the importance of her innocent outlook on life, which is a big factor in the dynamic of her and Hakurons relationship.
I agree with some in that, the panel could have been executed better. It was at times difficult to differentiate who was saying what. Also, the translation to English I wish was better at times ....I mean come on "embrace?" lol....you'll see what i mean if you read it haha.
I won't comment on the ending like other reviews have b/c in my opinion revealing any feelings about it can also spoil it.
Overall, this is most definitely worth a read. But prepare yourself young grasshopper, bc sh*t gets real fast!...if you want rainbows and daisies, take your butt to the PG club friend, or find a Disney movie and live a blissful life. Excluding lion king :( ...ill never let it go. lol jkjk (but not really '_' ) haha. ok tootles!
