an older man having to look after a young girl, for different reasons. The two have very similar stories, but perhaps a different mood to how they tell them. My Girl seems a lot more like it has many morals to share with the viewers, while usagi drop seems to be more realistic in terms of drama, and comedic. Both are good reads.

Both of these manga star a single guy who is in charge of taking care of a little girl. While Aishiteruze Baby is aimed towards a younger audience and Usagi Drop, being a josei, is aimed towards an older audience, if you enjoyed one of these stories, chances are good that you'll enjoy the other. The situations that both Kippei and Daikichi go through are oddly similar. Both Yuzuyu and Rin are equally adorable.

Both are stories about a single dad raising an adorable little girl. Both have elements of innocence and wonder, and both are sweet and funny. I think Yotsuba&! is more funny than Usagi Drop, but Usagi Drop is better at portraying the realities of daily life with a young child.

both are about an older boy taking care of a younger kid and learning the responsibility of looking after others

These two mangas are similar in the fact that there are older guys who take care of a younger girl.

The protagonist suddenly encounters a very young girl that is in need of home, and decides to adopt her. Part of these works are then dedicated do portrayal of parenting, after which there is a time skip as both the series have a similar conclusion.

The theme of 'Young girl plus older guardian' is there. With BA there's a noticeable romantic undertone; Usagi Drop has little to none.

In both of these titles, the male protagonist suddenly finds himself taking care of a young girl. Both titles explore not only the difficulties involved in being a single parent, but also the happiness it can bring to one's life.

These both are sweet stories. They share a similar story line dealing with children who live with a relative who does not really know how to take care of them. Also, each one is sure to make you cry and laugh.

Shirogane no Nina is quite similar to pre-timeskip Usagi Drop. Although the former is a little lighter in tone, they both have the central theme of a man raising a child that's not his own.

Dealing with a baby can actually make one's life be much better after all

These two manga have a very similar premise: a bachelor is forced by circumstances to raise an illegitimate child of his dead relative. The manga chronicle their daily lives raising said children from childhood to adulthood, with plenty of heart-warming and hilarious moments. Both manga also consist of 10 volumes.

A character decides to create a child that is not his obligation, is experiencing difficulties, both financial and psychological, but without some drama he overcomes adversity. he both bring a sense of responsibility on the part of its protagonists, and begins to sense of accomplishment to make a child happy. Teaching so much about fatherhood. (this text was translated by Google Translator)

Both of these feature stories where a close relative, of a now-gone father; adopts and become the caretaker of a young girl. Subsequently, the caretakers starts becoming more attached and acting like new fathers to them. Both feature very polite and cheery daughters.

The first half of Usagi Drop is very similar to Sweetness and Lightning: Cute stories about preschool aged child being raised by a single man, who is desperately trying to connect with his daughter.

Similar setup, both manga have orphaned children/child who get taken in by a relative they don't know because no one else will have them. Slow-paced and sweet slice of life showing the challenges of taking on a child.

Chichi to Hige-Gorilla to Watashi is what Usagi Drop was for the first 1/3 of its story. It shows what Usagi Drop could and should have been. Lighthearted, warm, funny. You have a widowed father that takes care of his daughter, together with his brother. We follow their lifes in a slice of live-ish manner, the three of them at home, the dad at work and the daughter at kindergarten and their interactions with friends and coworkers. There are even appropriate loveinterests for each of them and the story actually does something with them. Something that Usagi Drop failed to do.

It's truly an inspirational way to bonding over with our own parents.. As we've seen to this one.. Both are in charge of taking care a single child... as soothening as it is.. Highly inducing heartwarming manga could change your life for the better T_T

Usagi Drop and Isshuukan Friends brings strong relationship dynamics as part of its storytelling. The main male and female protagonist shares a relationship that develops over a course of time. There is a familiar feel especially with the slow pacing story and slice of life tone. Each chapter depicts their life as they face new obstacles together.

You finished reading Usagi Drop? and now you are hoping to see another series that bears the same feeling of betrayal to the readers with similar yet different premise? Then this ones for you! The feeling of betrayal, hoping it would be wholesome, but instead became something else. The disappointment and disgust that came after it is similar to this series.

Both mangas are about an unusual family which is trying to take care of a child. And both are aimed towards an older audience. If you enjoyed one of these stories, probably you'll enjoy the other.

Both have a mature male taking care of a young girl...both are very similar but also different in the end you’ll know why I recommend both. If you enjoy one you might like the other. Usage Drop the girl is super young while Hige wo Soru the girl is a teenager

It has the same feel to it. Plus the whole single father raising somebody else's child as their own.
reportRecommended by PartiaL
There are complex parent-child relationships with underage girls in both works. Though in Kodomo no Jikan it's more about child's life than father's as in Usagi Drop.
reportRecommended by ErgoSis
Both manga deal with unusual relationship between a young man and a child that became father and daughter out of certain circumstances. While Usagi Drop starts when Usagi is very young, Yajirobee shows the realtionship when Haru is graduating into high school. They both have this warm feeling and not very dramatic way of telling the story.
reportRecommended by Nanamishi
They are both cute slice of life stories that deal with interactions between the male lead and a small girl. In Barakamon the little girl is one of the neighbors' kid with which he spends a lot of time and in Usagi Drop she's a girl he ends up taking care of.
reportRecommended by chibix
Both revolve around male protagonists who become caregivers to a relative's child.

Since no one else has bothered to mention it, I figured I might as well through this out there. Similar slice-of-life, father cares for daughter premise. Hotman has a much more extensive cast (partially due to its length), and a bit more of a serious edge, but fans of either series should enjoy the other.

Both Tsubaki Biyori and Usagi Drop are tender, innocent, slice-of-life stories about an adult man and a little girl, in Usagi Drop's case, taking one in, for Tsubaki Biyori, befriending one.

Again two cute stories, both are finished. Usagi was great and yonin is really good so far aw well.
reportRecommended by Ardnaed
They are both stories about two people (Yukino and Arima; Rin and Daikichi) growing up, learning about life and each other, and coming to love each other as well(Yukino and Arima as a couple; Rin and Daikichi as a family).
reportRecommended by DreamerofDreams1
Almost nothing is similar between these two except for the fact that both pairs of characters live in two different worlds and don't know each other that well, but as they face many trials and learn more about each other along the way, they come to grow close and develop a strong and happy relationship( Family wise in Usagi Drop)
reportRecommended by DreamerofDreams1
Both Manga have a unmarried single adult taking care of a young girl when their parents died and that where the similarities ends (well their is one more but its a spoiler)
reportRecommended by AkatsukiUlquiora
A slice of life drama series, Usagi Drop follows a young bachelor as he takes on the role of fatherhood and learns many life lessons along the way.
reportRecommended by TaiyakiOni
Usage drop is very different from master and child and goes in a completely different direction later in the manga. But monster and child is another sweet manga that deals with a child showing up and someone taking care of it. Monster and child is short and sweet and sad.it'll take less than 5 minutes to read, unlike usage drop. But if you don't mind blood and enjoyed usagi drop I think you'll like monster and child.
reportRecommended by Ardnaed
Although Nocturne has a darker atmosfere, both are about a little girl who lost one of her parents and ends up living with a man she had never met before.
