Generic facts:
-18 year old college student living in Japan.
-Originally was attracted to anime/manga as a result of a Japanese history obsession in 7th grade.
-Generally outspoken and overly prolific. Also a bit of a literary snob (and occasionally a condescending jerk who uses parentheses excessively, writes run-on sentences, and likes to talk about himself in the third person).
Favorite Genres: Psychological, slice of life, supernatural, anything with a lot of moral gray to analyze (which isn't a genre, but who cares).
Likes: Grandiose schemes, folklore, philosophy.
Dislikes: Boredom, complaining, ignorance (both that of others and my own), people with drastically skewed perceptions of their own abilities.

A note about ratings and favoritism: When it comes to critiquing, I may seem harsher than most. The reason for the severely low ratings is just that I see "5" as the absolute average (although I'm around 5.1 at the moment). The ratings are periodically adjusted accordingly.

The ratings themselves are based on what I believe to be a slightly less biased interpretation of a series' worth. My enjoyment is largely unrelated to it (for example, I thought Azumanga Daioh! was hilarious, but a lot of the jokes were somewhat stale and formulaic, hence the lower rating). My favorites are based upon my personal enjoyment, which changes over time. Although naturally there is some influence (it's impossible to be completely unbiased about anything), I do the best I can to maintain a certain fairness in my ratings.

That's just a general explanation. I hope it wasn't too rambling, but I doubt many people are going to bother to read this anyway.
