Chichi to Hige-Gorilla to Watashi is what Usagi Drop was for the first 1/3 of its story.
It shows what Usagi Drop could and should have been.
Lighthearted, warm, funny.
You have a widowed father that takes care of his daughter, together with his brother.
We follow their lifes in a slice of live-ish manner, the three of them at home, the dad at work and the daughter at kindergarten and their interactions with friends and coworkers. There are even appropriate loveinterests for each of them and the story actually does something with them. Something that Usagi Drop failed to do.
