I'm a pseudo-critic/filthy casual who likes to shove his shit taste down other peoples' throats with rambly reviews nobody reads.

The Five Painful Truths of Anime
1) Your "waifu" is a whore. She's also the waifu of 1,000s of other otakus at the same time. If she actually was real, you'd be NTR'd quicker than you can blink.
2) The vast majority of the ecchi fandom consists of nothing but a bunch of chronic masturbators who get off to the sight of animated girls exposing their tits and their underwear. Don't lie to yourself and say that you watch ecchi shows for the plot.
3) You're perfectly entitled to enjoy garbage, but that doesn't change the fact that shows like Sword Art Online and Tokyo Ghoul are shit. Don't conflate your own enjoyment of the show with actual quality.
4) Barring the shows that they watch, there is no conceivable difference between critics and filthy casuals. Critics are just as prone to overrating/underrating various programmes and ignoring flaws in their favourite shows like the filthy casuals do.
5) Anime isn't a sufficient medium to learn Japanese. If you want to learn Japanese, take a damn class. Websites, Rosetta Stone, anime, and visual novels can only get you so far.
Contrary to what mouth-breathing weeaboos would like to believe, Japan isn't a country where the streets are paved with anime and manga. Japan is one of the most ethnically homogeneous countries in the entire world. Even if you learn the language and understand the customs, you won't be welcomed with open arms. Your life sucks and Japan won't make it any better. Get that fact through your skull.

The ratings on my list are arbitrary (for the most part). I can't be fucked to 'objectively' score something since numbers aren't a good way to represent complex opinions, so the ratings on my list are based around how likely I am to recommend something. The only thing a higher number means is that I enjoyed watching it more than something with a lower number. So basically, my ratings can be summed up like so:
7 or higher = I heartily recommend watching/reading it.
5/6 = I liked it to a certain degree, but I'm not likely to recommend it.
4 or lower = It was a waste of time, would not recommend.
I try to use the full 10 point scale as much as I can, so I do put a little bit of thought into my ratings but it really just boils down to what "feels" right for me. I mean, I adore School Rumble but I didn't enjoy it so much to the point where I'd give it a 10/10. Ya feel me?
