| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I enjoyed this episodes since we finally see the main guy acting more like a normal human instead indifferent silent style. Finally he shows feelings of many sorts. I wonder what he was crying more in the end. The lost engine or the girl. |

The girl was the reason he got frustrated in the first place, but after the engine broke, it was the only thing on his mind and I doubt he was even recalling anything about the girl. Oh, and I really think he should talk to Mogi first before making any hasty and possibly wrong conclusions. He'll be mega-retarted if he won't. | Damn, I teared up when Takumi cried. The final scene with him crying and his dad patting him was very heartfelt. His dad is super awesome, I love the dynamic between him and Takumi. |

| I like the way Takumi lost, it wasn't because he was distracted or not driving as usual or something, he just reached his car's limits, giving his best until the engine blew up. This scene was only ruined because of the condescending speech of that emperor guy, he went back there just to "share his views" when no one even asked as if he were superior or something. I hope Ryousuke won't be reduced to a loser like Nakazato, and defeats him on their upcoming race. The scene in which Takumi was alone with his broken car was pretty forlorn too, I was glad from the bottom of my heart when his father appeared, and this may be the first time I felt such a positive emotion watching this. Nice to know that Takumi is rich too, with his own savings and the another one his father made on his name. lol But the poor guy was taking the death of that engine to his heart, he really loved the car, his father was kind of mean too, not saying that he was planning to change it soon anyways. At least he said it wasn't his fault. |

| Nooo! :( Poor AE86. Takumi received another punch from life, ouch. It was cool to see Bunta acting normally, like a father, not that awkward guy from tofu store. I'm glad Takumi finally lost. Not that him winning all the time would be boring, though it would be. It's that him being defeated is more realistic. He still has much to learn and his car has exceeded its limits for multiple times already. |

Bunta really couldn't have shown at a better moment It seems that talks how Takumi needs to feel whats its like to lose came true and the car just didn't feel like capable against stronger opponents that are gonna continue getting more fierce and faster every race |

| Finally I didn't know why I felt satisfied by this episode but by the time the engine broke I felt relieved as Takumi was reaching it's limits and breaks down while at that point he realizes he messed it up real time After the Evo came back and gave him a hard trashing not really but just making him realize it's surely a loss I felt relieved that Takumi even the god amongst racers can lose technically he can't run anymore but he knows it can lose and it gives me hope after this he'll come back better and stronger The feels It hit me when Takumi was frustrated over this race it makes him more humane to give off his thoughts and frustrations around the course, and after his chad dad knowing the "feeling" that it's gonna blow sooner or later crying beside him thinking its his fault for blowing the engine made me tear a bit that was some real tough shit, Doesn't matter new engine new Takumi. |

| WOW... I thought Takumi would lose, but I did not expect the 86 to blow 😓 It was nice of Sudo to come check on Takumi... Regardless of if he is / was an asshole still... Bunta is a really good dad. It's good to see a normal happy positive influence in an anime. Very wholesome moment when he came to help Takumi. |
