Beyond just the similar character designs, this also has the cute girls doing cute things and slice of life vibe. As expected, background scenery is a highlight in the show especially involving a photography club. All the main cast stands out so far although Satsuki is somewhat of the poster girl. I think there's a lot of personality in this show and the artwork style is simple. They even got a cat into the first episode! Cute stuff. |

7+ years since the debut of Yuru Camp a.k.a Laid-Back Camp in Winter 2018, mangaka Afro is back with yet another one of his Manga Time Kirara CGDCT series, helmed by the brand-new studio of Soigne being its premiere work with (surprise, surprise) Aniplex's backing. The high school sophomore of Satsuki "Saachan" Amamiya being roped into the Photography Club being its lone saviour after the 3rd year Senpais in their schoo have graduated, and is now lead by her and one of the new members of An Kiriyama to go out scouting for places to photograph. And the camera that the Insta 360 camera An brought from an auction, brings them to the candy shop store of fellow manga illustrator Haruno Akiyama, whom her grandmother apologizes for the trouble and treats both girls to okonimiyagi, and even with the group of kids that joins thereafter. And the cat which they call Taisho, with it being applied a helmet and a camera onto it, it sure captures some intriguing shots. But when Akiyama asks them for a favour to model for her manga. and the two girls readily agree to help the mangaka bring out of her NEET rut. And Akiyama wanting to do an action theme with the 360-degree camera, she with her Nadeshiko Kagamihara-esque energy may worry the two Photography Club members, though they need not worry about her antics to go to the observatory to capture the sequence of the sky turning from evening to night. At the very least, Akiyama being able to capture both girls' enthusiasm, as much as both Satsuki and An being able to do their own work as well, it's a win-win for both parties, and that will be their work ethic going forward. The first CGDCT of the weekend (followed by P.A. Works's show thereafter along the same timeslot) is already looking a lot good, even though it's less refined as Yuru Camp...but still good. |

While we wait for Yuru Camp to return, we got author's OTHEER series which is very clearly another one of his works, I mean these CDs just SCREAM author lmao. Though dw, the premises are different, Yuru Camp obviously being about camping, and now this one being about... photography! So yeah, best believe the travelling parts will still be here, I mean that's what makes Yuru Camp, well, Yuru Camp outside of the characters ofc. Immediately met with our resident slob here, Nade, I mean, Amamiya, who's... uh, laying down below desks? Yeah... LOL. And our resident person who pushes our slob to well, not be a slob, Rin, I mean, Kiriyama, who goes to see who exactly scammed our poor girl out of their camera... who turns out, nah she just got sick so she couldn't send the camera over lol. So you know what that means, the only form of apologizing in CGDCT shows... eating! Which gives us the chance to get to know some of the characters, specifically the mangaka who would you guess, wants to make a manga about a camera club... lol. Though, we can't even call her a mangaka anymore, she's just a full on neet now lol. Guess she our new resident slob around here.... So yeah, should NOT be a good idea to let this girl drive because not only did she start driving in the WRONG LANE, but also somehow managed to arrive at someone's house?!?!? Yo, REVOKE THIS GIRL'S LICENSE, NOW They somehow made it safely though, to the sight to take their photos that is, and yeah, straight to eating it is for Akiyama lmaoooo. Though, they eventually make it to the spot of taking their photos, and get them.. and they end up looking great! Successful first photo shoot. So yeah.. time to go home... which they somehow survived with Akiyama's ONCE AGAN reckless driving... girl was swerving around all the corners like this shit is Initial D or something lol. Very, very, VERY fun start, I'm loving it so much already. Haven't even spoken on the visuals, but man, they look amazing. Looking great for this show so far, I'm exicited! |

Taking 30k pics of her senior—that’s either serious admiration or straight-up infatuation, hard to tell. Lol, one layer of a photographer being photographed wasn’t enough, so we got another: photographer being photographed being photographed. If the one driving doesn’t even know what does what, you’re basically cooked riding with them. I’m honestly surprised they didn’t crash even once. |

FINALLY, my MOST anticipated anime of the seasons. I've been waiting for this anime for FAR too long and now I can finally watch it. I already love the cast, An, Satsuki and Haruno are great characters, all have great personalities. Haruno is like Toba-sensei from Yuru Camp which makes her likeable, of course. Animation is so good, Studio Soigne doing work already. Backgrounds look amazing, OST is great for this anime, great artstyle and the comedy is perfect. So far, I'm loving it. Can't wait for next week. :) 5/5 (Taisho is great guys) |

This first episode was super fun, it's been a while since I've seen such an amusing CGDCT series, glad I picked it up. The photography club setting is fairly original in itself, add to the mix a struggling wacky manga artist plus her adventurous cat and you get a really unique show. I laughed and smiled quite a bit, and we already have some pretty nice visuals (the ending with the night sky and the city view). Looking forward to the next episodes already :) |

Joining the already stacked list of lesbian duos we have this season, now we have photographer lesbians and it’s Yuru camp’s author so you know it’s going to be amazing.π As a photographer, this first episode really resonated with me. That’s also two Saturday roles for Koga Aoi, I love her sm While I’m not into portraiture, seeing people get started on their photography journey always warms my heart. It can be frustrating, but it’ll be such a rewarding experience for the girls! There’s nothing quite like capturing the emotion and thoughts you have when seeing an impressive sight for the first time and sharing that with others through a photo. We kinda see the girls start to realize that when they do the nighttime Timelapse of Fuji-San there at the end! Had a massive smile on my face throughout because this was so cute. I love how Satsuki got into photography because of her senpai and then Kiriyama got into it because she has a crush on Satsuki basically πthe power of yuri is amazing. Great premiere. Between this and Zatsu Tabi we basically got another yuru camp season this season |

I don't know where this studio came from, but it's doing the Yuru Camp thing so effortlessly. Great animation. That 360-degree photo was very cool, I wonder if the animators made the whole scene in 3D CG. The comedy was consistently a hit. "I'm a laid-back manga artist," LOL. And this show sure moves along quick. Didn't have any expectations, but surprised by how much I like this. |

Eyebrows... this was great. Glad this studio put together something that seems to have all the same charm as Yuru Camp. Looking at the dates now and this was published in 2017 where Yuru Camp came in 2015. Guess this series got buried under Yuru Camps popularity, but I'm looking forward to it all the same. |

@Mr_Sai Of course - would love to see it. But I feel that for that to happen the stars have to kind of align, because they are a one project a year studio. So I dont't really have hopes. But Mono looks and feels great so far. So there's at least one more studio out there that seems to do afro's work justice. We're definitely eating good this season. |

What kind of Yuri food chain is this lol Introduced the mc and skipped one year to start the show never seen this happen before. 30,000 senpai photo is wild. Honestly never seen this Saachan's type camera before. Good to see they doing technical stuff too. Great visuals are to be expected for photography based show. Both leads are really intresting specially Kiriyama. Looks really interesting. One of the better animes this season. |

This was the show I was looking forward to the most this season, being a huge Yuru Camp and all. But I have to say, this left me with mixed feelings. There are too many creepy relationships so far. Satsuki being obsessed with her senpai for no discernable reason, then implanting that obsession onto Haruno because she looks vaguely similar to her senpai. Then An's even creepier feelings for Satsuki was even more off putting. The ending definitely saved the episode with the great night shots and timelapse. Hopefully this is just a slow start and will get better when more characters are introduced, but so far, this was only OK at best. |

This instantly went to my list of best anime premier of all time, the recent one being Makeine. Animation is peak and definitely a great debut for this new studio, though I can probably see that this studio will probably be specialized in yuri stuff. I don't consume yuri on regular basis but if it has peak animation like this? Count me in. |

Mono was one of my most anticipated shows this season, mainly since this was made by the same author as Yuru Camp, which I love so much. I'm glad to say that this first episode slightly exceeded my expectations. The production quality from the new studio, Soigne, was really impressive with how fluid and smooth the animation was. Satsuki and Haruno are fun and bubbly characters to follow as they get to try out some nice camera equipment, which does result in some stunning shots of the nighttime landscape towards the end of the episode. It helps that the background scenery already looks amazing, which only became more beautiful during the nighttime sequence shots. Hopefully more people will check out this series as time goes on in this busy Spring season. I might be jumping to conclusions too early, but with how entertaining this first episode was, I think Mono will be a bit of a sleeper hit. =) |

My final new anime this spring season, and I’m glad it kinda turned my Saturdays into a comfy trifecta, with Anne Shirley and Slime 300 coming before it lol. Although I do have a confession to make, despite my love for SoLs and CGDCT shows, I have ever watched Yuru Camp at the time of writing this, I plan to fix that one day but for now I decided to check this series out which is by the same author, and so far I’m absolutely loving it, and I didn’t realize this is by a new anime studio, Soigne, and they seem to be killing it so far too, show looks and sounds great! Starting off, I wasn’t expecting to blast through a year of time right at the start, usually in these shows we get to see how the MC falls in love with the series’ subject over the course of it, but here we kinda skipped that part and Satsuki became a good photographer in two minutes lol, but I think that’s okay, I really liked the rest of the episode and where it seems like the show is headed. The cast is also great so far, very cute designs, and I’m loving the moments between Satasuki and An, they’ve already proved to be a hilarious and cute duo, and the mangaka Haruno is a riot too, she’s laid back but also somehow brings the chaos, I’m honestly not sure how she got her driver’s license lol. I also really like the cat, he’s just a chill guy that likes to travel, I’d be worried about my cat going out like he does but I think this one knows how to take care of himself. And man that last scene with the timelapse, that looked so beautiful, and this is just the beginning of the photography goodness to come, it takes me back to “Insomniacs After School”, this show has a different vibe but I’m happy to be chilling with cameras in anime again. And that song at the end, no visuals yet but it’s so nice to hear halca again, last show I heard her in was “The Way of Pon” back in Winter 2024, she’s probably one of my favorite artists to hear in anime, this was another great one by her. |

Episode 5/5 Well, we have cats and photography here, so of course that captivated me. This is already the second premiere that I liked the most this season, the first being Anne Shirley's. All their expressions and relaxed speeches were very pleasant, there is a lot of realism and at the same time such pleasant scenes that I am simply amazed at the expressiveness of it. The animation is excellent, and the theme of "photography" is something new to me but very good to follow in this episode. The girls are also cute and the mangaka is very charismatic too. Even the kitten has a personality lol I loved this, I want more episodes soon |

Wasted no time getting into the photography. At first, I thought it was going to spend a lot of the first episode with school club drama, but no, just right into cute cat pics and weird mangaka. Loving it so far. |

From the creator of Yuru Camp, Mono is finally here! So that's yet another CGDCT show this season, and the creator of Yuru Camp making another CGDCT series. I've been looking forward to this mainly because it's by the creator of Yuru Camp, which is one of my fav shows. Yeah, I'm liking it so far, but I doubt that I'll like it as much as I like Yuru Camp. And of course, this show is more about photography. |

Wow, even though the plot is obviously a fair bit different and was designed to be different, this is something closer to the spirit of what I was hoping to get out of Zatsu Tabi: That's Journey. Mainly as in a little more going into the characters and a touch more personality. There was a little more of that lively spark and when the plot is essentially about "nothing" in either case, you want to be able to enjoy the characters. It's of much lower importance, but I also enjoy the thick art style and return to Yuru Camp-style aesthetics. The characters cause you to have to suppress that desire within to want to mold and sculpt wax into figurines of their likeness. I wish that they'd make 1,000 episodes of a series like this one day. Think this will be the third and probably last new series of the season I add onto my watchlist straight away after the first episode without any tentative "probationary" period, after Kowloon Generic Romance and Apocalypse Hotel. |

Damn, poor childhood friend. Lost right out the gate as Satsuki immediately fell for her senpai. Also I don't know who's idea it was to let Haruno get behind the wheel of a car but they should be promoted, I'd like to see her in a reboot of Speed Racer. |

EP 1 What does mono even mean actually it looks a little different from what i was thinking one minute later speed a bit weird skip time hard to tell although its something where like senpai graduating in the first ep hehe heck its only been a few minutes also i have no idea arent cameras supposed to be like really expensive more skip intensifies imagine big intensifiesi how did things get to be this way guhehe hmmm also camera intensifies welp uhh plot intensifies ception glonk curious actual time haruno sure is knows a lot surprise Soo thats the whole ep Kinda felt like uhh For better or worse no op/ed so its hard to tell what will happen in the remaining eps Like its not the worst ep 1 i have ever seen although its kinda average i think It really has to go with how things happen the character interactions A few moments here and there Like im sure the photo gimmick is/will be good I will give them that its going to take some time though Also considering the way it started I thought they were going to talk about the skool and/or club and basically the whole ep took place outside of it Maybe next ep? Also like...why is the name just mono Thats so confusing |
