man they finally get a family dinner and it was the most depressing thing ever. At least it ended in a kinda good note for Damian. I still don't get Desmond at all though. Like what's going on with him? his eyes too like wtf. The older brother just seemed like he didn't care at all while the mom seemed nervous as hell the whole time.  Also noticed how in one of the images the family is split where there's the mom and Damian with similar features and then the big eyes side with the older brother and the dad. That spread of them all apart in darkness was wow.  Also I just noticed the stitches? Is he kenjaku? or something? Honestly makes that theory of him being able to read minds too more plausible |

| Finally the things are moving again, my expectations have risen again since the past arc of Martha and Henry. Donovan's squinting is very suspicious. Not to mention the stitches on his head. I believe Endo has improved his writing skills since the Martha and Henry's past arc. I hope he can make things a little more serious and balance it with lighter chapters. I also have a theory about Donovan. I think experiments have been done on him for a long time, and the stitches on his head can be considered as an argument for this. If you ask what his special power is, I think it's related to people's minds, like Anya's. However, differently, he may has the power to access the memories and information stored in their brains. When he first encountered Loid, maybe his powers weren't good yet. Donovan may have been trying to develop his special powers all this time, unlike Anya, who did not know how to control and develop her powers. |

Another GOATED chapter! Hardly any dialogue and yet it created such an intense and awkward atmosphere! Gorgeously refined and shiny art/character designs, very creative panel layouts throughout, that dog was hella scary, Damian shoveling food in his mouth was wholesome, and Desmond's looking like a drug cartel leader here. Incredible chapter, and all that being said his bro looked the most at ease here ngl.  |

I like to think that Desmond's dad is just an awkward dude, but his demeanor at the end makes it seem like he wasn't being completely truthful with his feelings regarding dinner with his family. But even as a child though he was kinda stilted and awkward to tho so I dunno. |

The Forgers have a false marriage and a foster child and dog whom all deeply care about one another, whereas the Desmonds (to our limited knowledge) have a “real” marriage and two children of their own flesh and blood yet they are only brought together by their fear, or at least detachment, from the head of the house. It’s no wonder Damian can’t help but like Anya. She has a loving family and is comfortable/brave enough to always say what’s really on her mind—something the Desmonds are clearly incapable of in that striking dark two-page spread. |

| My guess is Desmond can read minds too. That's why when Anya came close to him, there was a plot armor and she was falling sleep for they didn't come too close and notice each other has a mind reading ability too. |

| That double-paged spread with pure awkward silence where no one is talking is terrifying and speaks about the detachment among family members! Endo perfectly captured the distant vibe when a get-together occurs in a Desmond family dinner. Get Damian out of this house and back to the arms of Anya!! The Desmond family is a terrible contrast to the Forger family when it comes to "family dinner". 😖 Anya has striking features and a lovely attitude that caotured Damian's attention. |

| @Rexnihilo I never noticed the stitches before, nice catch. What I did notice is how weirdly Melinda sits, is it supposed to show how she "tippy-toe" around her husband? Also Damian is sitting similar to his mum there too, but that is because he is too young and short. |
