marquin2: avid manga reader and anime enthusiast
[Oshi no Ko] fired up my ardent love to read the manga first before the anime. Horimiya: The Missing Pieces is making me reread the manga again. Demon Slayer teaches me to love family and friends. The Promised Neverland rekindled my desire to read manga and watch anime, as well as maintain the hope for a better tomorrow. Fruits Basket provides me happy thoughts and a happy heart. Attack on Titan reminds me to keep up the fight. My Hero Academia reignites my hope to be a superhero even in small ways. Chainsaw Man shows me how broken people can still be repaired with love even after they fall into the abyss. And Fullmetal Alchemist teaches me how one can acquire a "Fullmetal Heart".
Manga and anime taught me life lessons I wouldn't find anywhere else.

Thank you for your kind words on my About-Me! I just kept it brief, nothing too fancy at the moment.
It's okay that your use for those social media platforms has evolved; life changes, and priorities shift accordingly.
Oshi no Ko wasn't really my thing, but I understand how certain series can deeply resonate and stick with us for a long time. MAL is great for tracking, but real life comes first. Responding to messages after a hiatus is fine—we all have our own pace. Yeah, it can get overwhelming at times once you start engaging in those communities.
Well, thanks for sharing your perspective on staying connected online. Take care, and you have a wonderful day/evening too!
Haha! I appreciate the compliment! Thanks for that!
While MAL forums are great, have you considered joining a Discord server for your favorite show? there's active and friendly communities there as well. It might be worth checking them out. Those are pretty good favorites you have there and speaking of favorites, it's noticeable of how much you're a fan of Oshi no Ko.
You're definitely right. 'Safe' online is a relative term. It's always good to be careful. Yeah, the rapid changes in technology can be overwhelming so it's totally normal to feel a bit out of the loop sometimes. Thankfully, for the most part, you don't have to chase every trend.
It's midnight here too! You as well! It was nice talking to you! Feel free to drop by if you ever wanna chat! :)
I did watch anime too but without ever realizing there was a distinction. xD
It wasn't until my undergrad, through friends, that I started watching more actively. I remember being genuinely interested in animations but when it came to choosing a career, I thought it over and it seemed like a gamble since it could either work, take a while or might not work at all. Accounting sounds like a good choice, I bet you're really good at staying organized and handling numbers with precision. It's nice to have a hobby outside of work, and art sounds wonderful to have. I'm not very good at drawing since I haven't done it in ages T.T but perhaps, I'll consider giving it another try someday.
Glad to hear how much anime has influenced your life. I enjoy both Shonen and Seinen as well, though I tend to lean a bit more toward Seinen.
These days I take it slow and tend to prioritize whichever catches my eye through perusing forums on MAL, and Reddit. I find this to be for the best since I don't really wish to make something I genuinely enjoy a chore.
Your About-Me section with life lessons imparted by each anime is really interesting!
I use my Samsung tablet to read manga. That probably the only thing I use my tablet beside scrolling on TikTok.
I don't actually pay attention to the artwork or covers. I'm just used to reading quickly because I read a lot of books and since they don't have any pictures and just words, it just a habit. Since I also read manga on my tablet, I just have a habit of scrolling right onto the next page even before I finish reading the text bubble. While I am a fast reader I still take long to catch up or finish a manga because once I put it down and take a break from reading it I sometime end up not picking it back up until like maybe a month a later.
