Holo really does behave like a wolf, reacting to weather and shaking her tail when cold. Kinda cute.

A very tense episode again. As this weather got worse, Nora also had to play her role really well. Holo's wolf instincts were on full display. It's crazy Nora put herself into risk like that. Kinda wish Lawrence cleaned himself better cause his face looked distracting this episode.

It's revenge time.

Holy fuck, that transformation scene looked godly. Even a decade later, Holo still has so much aura. From what I remember in the OG, the screen just went black and white, but I think the way they did it this time, with the purple lighting, was 10 times better. The Lemerio Company is so annoying. And I mean, I don't blame Nora for protecting that prick; money is money. Even still, Nora ain't no gold digger, and she thankfully let Holo do her thing.

That Lemerio Trading guy had it coming. Stupid prick, that punch from Lawrence felt good as hell. He really tried to bring Lawrence down to his level. Glad to see that fraud finally done for and got away with not a slap on the wrist per se, but not much. Lawrence is too nice for his own good. That final part where Holo tried to make Lawrence call out her name... lol, this dude really waited for the perfect time for the bell to ring so she "couldn't hear" lmaoooo.

That's it for the first season of the OG. I do hope they adapt that one OVA where Holo gets sick after this, and don't jump straight into the next arc.

It’s really baffling how those supposed-to-be bad guys just left Lawrence as is. I mean he literally managed to escape the ropes and meet Holo just a few minutes later lol. Stupid fucks who don’t think twice before betraying people. They may have their reasons but it was very satisfying to see Holo messing the life out of them.

Now purple lightning thundering in the background here kind of helped in representing the situation more dire, so fine.. also, I’m liking how acquainted Lawrence had become to see Holo naked( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). All in all, glad the betrayers were put in their place, and in turn, Lawrence made a HUGE profit too. Great payoff after all that tense drama. And hey, nice conclusion with the name thing.. we too couldn't hear xD

Just one more cour, and then we’ll have the new content.. hopefully.

Lawrence is too much of a kind guy. Graceful too for only complementing the tail.

Everyone should be grateful that he's there to keep Holo in check. If it wasn't for him things would get seriously nasty. Makes you want to see much Holo would snap if someone seriously hurt or even killed him.

Good episode and although like the original, a hair fast for me, it was still plenty of fun and I did like the purple lightning in a couple of those shots that looked cooler admittedly than the original version. Lawrence still was a bit nice considering what the folks from Lemerio did to him with the betrayal but hey, at least he can get a long-term deal out of them with 500 gold coins over 10 years to make up for that. His good nature with protecting the cloak at the expense of himself was at full show here but he clearly had no regrets about that. The ending was a bit corny admittedly with Lawrence calling out to Holo's name as the bell rang loudly but it was a fun moment there to wrap up the 2nd volume. Holo and Lawrence continue to bond further in their travels and with Lawrence out of the red for the time being, he can look forward into taking the next step into making money again after disaster nearly cost him permanently over the last few episodes.

Volume 3's adaptation is up next I assume, wasn't too keen on the content admittedly compared to the first two volumes when I watched it so I'm not sure how to feel about it in this version probably. I'll see if this adaptation can make it better somehow; or if the arc has aged better with time.

Arc was as much fun as the original, they nailed it. I even became more of a fan of Nora than before. Holo in her wolf form was epic too and it was kinda sweet to see her getting angry for what they did to Lawrence. Her tail wagging is also just too cute :P

Painful way to free oneself. The scene where Holo leaped over their heads really was majestic. Given the profits involved here being backstabbed was kinda expected. In the end im glad that Holo was safe but that Lawrence was also able to get some payback as well. Amusing that the striking of the clock spoiled Holo's attempt to get her name called.

Great episode. The animation was fantastic. The scenes I was looking forward to the most were done pretty well.

One unfortunate thing tho is that some small scenes got cut completely and some scenes got shortened compared to the original. And there was less action and the Holo fanservice was tamer in comparison. That's one thing I dislike in any remake: subtraction instead of addition. I think it's cos the OG version didn't play the ED and thus had more time while this version didn't. Wish they did the same thing tho. But I guess it didn't feel necessary since it's a 25-episode season unlike the original.

I did like the addition of the thunderstorm a lot tho. Albeit the purple lightning was a bit weird.

Anyway, I liked how Lawrence resolved this situation. It was cool to see Holo's transformation again and know that Nora is finally free.

The way Lawrence teased Holo was fun as well. But I really think he called out her name at that moment. No way Lawrence called Nora's name instead of Holo's. I love these two so much.

I suppose that's the end of that. The next episode will be the start of a new arc that I think was skipped in the original anime. Can't wait.

I mean they left him in a wolf-infested forest alone and tied up. Not even in their wildest dreams could they imagine Lawrence having a freaking wolf-goddess on his side. By all means Lawrence would've died there. Henchmen are still human so they wanted to avoid murder at least now. Also I found it refreshing to see that "supposed-to-be bad guys" aren't just your average edgy/psychopath/rapist freaks. They act like actual flawed humans who don't find pleasure in murder, even when it comes to killing Nora. Doesn't change the fact they're awful, but I disagree on them being stupid, that's all :D.

In this week's episode, the tension reaches its highest point yet in that 'fight', if we can call it that, as Holo is just mopping the floor with the bad guys haha.
I loved the really cute moment of Holo understanding Lawrence kept her cloak safe for her.
Really liked the entire dialogue before the fight actually, it is cute and fun, and shows how close they've grown to each other.

I think they did a god job with capturing the tense atmosphere of the fight and adapting the dialogues this episode.
My only real grief would be the last scene, which is a bit cuter and a bit better in the novel imo.
Still, overall, I think they adapted this second book really well.

Next comes the third book's adaptation. Not gonna lie, probably my least favorite book of the entire series, but oh well, it still has some good moments.
On the other hand, the fourth book is absolutely amazing imo (I cannot wait to see Elsa animated), so the season should conclude with a bang at least!

Another week not being married to Holo 😢 and another awesome episode. Only thing I would’ve liked to have seen was Holo’s fight vs the younger wolf, she obviously won but who was he and are there more big wolves like her out there?

The reunions between Holo and Lawrence are always so cute after these near death experiences, sucks that Lawrence is constantly being taken advantage of and left to feel powerless, but he’s getting smarter for sure. He came up with the perfect plan to get back at the Remerio trading company. They’re worth more money in business than letting them go bankrupt.

Don’t feel bad for those dweebs at all because first of all, don’t agree to pay someone if you can’t. No need to rob and kill Holo and Lawrence, budget your business properly 🤦🏽‍♂️ But 500 gold coins for 10 years ain’t half bad. Makes up for it quite a bit lol.

Lawrence having to remind Holo that he’ll get her honey pickled peaches if she didn’t kill the one merchant dude was hilarious. He didn’t say anything about breaking a leg or two tho 😂

Holo making a big deal about whose name Lawrence called first during the Nora confrontation was so cute. The early 2000s anime vibes were so strong at the end in that scene when the clock tower bell masked the name he said. For all her strength and wisdom, Holo is a big baby and I love it ❤️. Don’t worry if Lawrence won’t, I’ll praise your tail 😂

The tension was high, and the debt was finally paid…

What a nice ending to this tense arc that concluded Volume 2’s adaptation. After the betrayal of the Remerio Trading Company, things looked bleak, but Lawrence and Holo worked wel together along with Nora to get out of the sticky situation. Lawrence also showed off his kind nature as they let Remerio off without tearing them apart, while showing off his shrewd negotiation skills to mutually benefit both sides. In the end, the debt is repaid, and Lawrence and Holo can continue their adventures.

I must say, even if Studio Passione isn’t the best studio out there, they did good work here when it mattered the most. As the first cour comes to an end, I find this a pretty decent series so far. Sure, it isn’t the most interesting sometimes and can get a little slow, but it has its share of tense, and even sometimes educational moments about economics that are nice to watch. Hoping the second cour is just as good, if not better.

I liked how they have shown Holo transformation, but I dislike why she just bowed to that wolf.. maybe that was good decision, but now it looks like it was bigger wolf (if comparing wolf form Holo to Lawrence) and a male. Then again did she only had to bow :P I mean she is female wolf.. he is male wolf.. you know what I mean :D

That part with only 100 worth gold not 600 worth and stones inside is very big mistake from author. If that gold was meant to be smuggled inside sheep bellies or under them what was the point of putting rocks in bag? also by riding all this way on horse it would already be mixed upside down when bag was opened... there are more reasons why this is all badly done.. same the last deal with that strange loan thing..

and they were riding on Holo wolf form so close to the city? they would've been seen by guards or while transforming later on that empty plains.. that makes zero zero zero sense.. this it not the first time this anime fails with logic.. with a remake they could do better

then he goes alone and ties up Romerio alone? a wuss like him?!

as much as I like this anime, this episode is just plain stupid same as some ideas in previous ones....

next episodes should have new OP and ED
(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ ちゅっ ちゅっ キス (´。✪ω✪。`)

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

Lawrence is a master at turning a horrible situation into an advantageous one. Left tied up in the pouring rain by those traitors. Very painful seeing Lawrence have to basically put his wrists into those flames to burn the ropes. The burn marks on his wrists are gonna leave brutal scars, on top of how messed up his face got. Running through the muddy woods with Holo cloak doing his best to keep it dry for her. Bumping into the wolf herself fresh off her meeting with that young giant wolf deep in the forest. Holo admonishing Lawrence for how good natured he is always makes me smile, it shows how much she cares for him trying to get him to stop being so vulnerable with his niceties. Holo calmed down the wolf in the forest not through fighting but simply by asking them to not attack. Bowing her head and acting with humility worked and stopped her from having to fight many other wolves. Expect when it comes to hurting Lawrence she doesn't hold back. Immediately rushing off with Lawrence on her back to catch up to these traitorous merchants. Holo in her giant wolf form is obviously too much for these wimps. Knocking them away so Lawrence can question the man whom betrayed them. Seeing how Lawrence discovers their treachery and comes up with a way for everyone to come out on top do there's no hard feelings for revenge later is very interesting. Lawrence is a masterful merchant already at his young age. Since the trading company tried bluffing how much gold they actually gave them Lawrence and Holo could only break even but at least that massive debt he had is gone and once the trading company are back on their feet he will get more gold over time.

Holo, as always, was exquisite. Every scene kept you excited, and Lawrence's betrayal and helplessness felt personal. It would have been even more spectacular if Holo's anger upon finding Lawrence mistreated had been more apparent.

It's those little details, like Lawrence taking care of his cloak as something precious, that captivate Holo. The best scene was Holo vs. Nora, with all those lightning bolts; it was amazing.

But seriously, Lawrence, stop acting tough and cold with Holo.

Quite the exciting finale for this arc, I think I can definitely say I liked this one more than the first, not by a whole lot but still. I wasn’t expecting Holo to simply get on her knees to that other massive wolf but I’m sure it was the best way to deal with that situation, the important thing is we got our Holo back and then it was time to strike back at the betrayers and save Norah, I have not seen the original to compare but Passione did pretty nicely with the following scenes of Holo transforming and then taking on the merchants, the rain and lightning made it feel quite epic, especially during the standoff with Norah and her dog.

And thankfully Norah ended up being saved and Lawrence set up a deal the trading company can’t refuse, I will admit I was a bit confused about how Lawrence did it, but I’m glad he’s finally out of debt and can work towards making profits once again, as well as get back on the road with Holo. And the scene right after this is probably one of my favorites of the series so far, the whole back and forth between Lawrence and Holo about what name was shouted was great, and then the clock ringing over Lawrence’s 2nd attempt was a perfect end to that bit, Lawrence won this time lol. Also Holo shaking her tail there, too cute.

And with 12 episodes down and the summer season approaching, I’m definitely looking forward to the 2nd cour of this show, not sure if we’ll get a new OP and ED until we enter the summer anime season tho, maybe episode 14 or 15.

Really well done though.

Get Holo those honeyed peaches.
Good girl deserves treats.

I've never quite understood why Holo was so angry at Nora in the showdown scene.
Is it just because Nora is a shepherd and she squared up to "fight" Holo with Enek?

Do we know what name(s) Lawrence calls for the showdown and the clock scenes?

Looking forward to a relaxed episode next week.

I'm happy with how this arc was wrapped up in this episode. Both Lawrence and Holo were able to reunite and, with the big pack of wolves leaving them alone thanks to Holo's intervention, they were able to rescue Nora and put a stop to Remerio Trading Company's plot.

Passione did a great job with Holo's transformation scene, combined with the purple lightning, looked very impressive, and the rest of the animation for this episode was still good, too.

He might be overly kind at times, but Lawrence being able to settle his debt as well as making sure Remerio wasn't screwed over, he and Holo can go off adventuring again without any worries. I'm glad that Nora is safe after everything that happened. I did love how Lawrence teased Holo about whether he called out her name or Nora's name when the church bells rang. =)

I think Lawrence called for Nora... I haven't read the light novel and lip sync in animes is generally far from accurate, but if you compare the way he starts moving his lips to speak during the bells ringing, with the moment Holo jumps above Nora, there is a noticeable difference. Other than that, the time rewind was Lawrence wondering what was about to happen if Nora faced Holo, as Holo had warned him that she would have to kill all those who opposed her. Lawrence called for Nora not to attack, fearing for her life.

Finally, the answer he gave Holo was very forced, I doubt she believed it but I think she has fun seeing that he is too good to be able to lie well... Pay your debt to the wolf girl, Lawrence! She saved your ass again this time and can't wait any longer for those delicious peaches with honey! Pay the wise deity soon or the next time she transforms it will be to sit on you lol!

Out of options and all resources stolen, Holo knew this would happen, though her facing the bigger wolves in and of iteelf may have been a tragedy to bow down to greater beings. Still, while Nora is definitely in danger, asking Holo to save her in her wolf state is not going to cut it, as much as Lawrence is persistent in her wanting to save said shepherd, and with that said, it's time to dash back to Ruvinheigen and thwart the Remerio Trading Company.

Nora being faced with a dilemma, to then be given the full reveal of Lawrence and Holo's gold smuggling plan as an act of revenge against Remerio Trading Company, with the amount of gold barely enough to account for debts accumulated, which is why Lawrence needs to make his negotations count as an IOU, which slowly turns into profit with the merchant association, exept when all costs are counted, they break even. And seriousky Lawrence, calling Holo's name just because her name's shorter, it's quite the easy tongue twister, as compared to Nora's. Ezcept like a smooth man, he takes advantage of the noisy sounds to drown his voice so that Holo cannot hear, smart.

That's it for the 1st half of the modern OG remake, the 2nd half has only just begun.
