Well just another precap episode with no new content which is nothing new in anime but really annoying.
It's a shame really since i was really looking forward to the next arc but i guess we have to wait till next week.
So for now what did everyone think of the events till now.

Weird indeed, it's not like each episode was released after a month delay. I don't think anybody who appreciates the show managed to forget what happened in episode 1 (hell no, that's probably the most popular episode since everybody mentioned it everywhere) or in the first episodes.

Considering they added a page dedicated to this recap (https://myanimelist.net/anime/38807/Goblin_Slayer__Bouken_Kiroku_Youshi), it shouldn't figure in the 12 episodes. Fortunately !

These motherfuckers... They shortened battles, skipped details, screwed up the story order, added filler side story, shoved unnecessary CG in and now released a recap? Yup, this anime is dead to me. I'll just go read the manga again, it's much more enjoyable.

I pretty much enjoyed the recap episode. Sure, I wanted to see meat shields this week, but it didn’t happen. I am looking forward to the battle next week.

The story order for the anime is actually the correct order, it was the manga that deviated from the original light novels.
Farm defence is in volume 1, Water Town in volume 2.

a recap after 10 episodes, in an anime with basically no plot. Sure
I think I don't know wtf I'm doing. Maybe. Probably.

Except...CG has only been used for Goblin Slayer when he is standing still or walking, not when he is running, battling, etc. If there has been any cg moments besides that they're so insignificant that I don't remember. So why are you whining about CG? They use it as minimally as possible, you should be appreciative. Something called "budget" exists.

Also, no filler side story...

And finally if you can't wait 1 extra week for an episode that's pretty sad. They may have needed more time. Would you rather have a badly animated episode? Exactly, you wouldn't. If you wanna stop watching, go ahead. No one cares. I just think what your saying has nothing to support it and comes off as whining.

In case people wondering why now a recap episode:

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RecapEpisode

A type of Clip Show. An episode that sums up a season or storyline by showing clips of significant events - essentially, a Previously On that lasts for a whole episode. Often used to help new viewers get acquainted with the storyline. This is important in Japan, where reruns of a series are a rarity. It can also be used to emphasize a Story Arc as setup to the next arc.

Recap episodes can also be used to fill out episode orders if the show's creators don't have quite enough material—a common occurrence if shows prove popular enough after their first few episodes that additional episodes are ordered beyond the series's original plan (as with Super Dimension Fortress Macross). Sometimes recap episodes are created by licensees when a show is localized from one market to another; material cut for being too risqué for local audiences (or, more rarely, too risqué for broadcast in its original market after production, as with the infamous Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Hot Springs Episode) has to be replaced by something, and all the footage from previous episodes is readily available to edit in. And sometimes the two cases are combined, as when Harmony Gold created a Recap Episode of out of thin air so Robotech would reach 85 episodes.

Longer-running anime shows will sometimes have a recap episode, usually about halfway through the series, often combined with or immediately followed by a Beach Episode in order to use Fanservice to keep the viewers coming back. However, in one- or two-cour showsnote , a Recap Episode is much less likely to happen, since there's less time available to spend to catch up the audience, and they're far less likely to forget something they saw just a few episodes ago anyways.

Sometimes, combined with a Framing Device that justifies the episode in-character.

In today's age of Digital Distribution, recap episodes are becoming somewhat less tolerated, since the internet ensures that, even if one cannot immediately access the older episodes as needed (whether legally or not), they can easily find online discussions to catch themselves up. This is doubly so since virtually all shows will eventually come out on DVD or Blu-ray, with all the episodes right there for the audience to recap themselves (if it's even needed, as they could also just watch the whole thing in one sitting). If a single-season show has a recap episode, it may be a sign that things are not going smoothly behind the scenes.

Maybe production isseus? I'm not that suprised tbh.

I love recaps where the majority of it is just what happened last week. Honestly though I really don't understand why a 12-episode really needs a recap...

Lol quite a bit of complaining going on in this thread....I guess no one got the memo that there would be a recap this week. Maybe this should have been reported in MAL's news section, that way people would have been prepared for this and we wouldn't have all this incessant whining.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

Question: Why does a twelve episode anime needs a recap episode?

Answer: There are 13 weeks in the winter cour, they need something to broadcast for that extra week.

I will never understand why people are mad about a recap episode if that episode is not even part of the "12 episodes count".

Sometimes I feel that a "there will be no episode this week" would have angered less people than doing a recap, although in both cases it is the same, you just need to wait a week.

Is just like:

>There is not episode this week: Oh that's bad, but shit happens.
>There is a recap episode This will not affect the number of episodes: This is bullshit, this anime is shit, are you kidding me?

At least this isn't a recap that count as normal episode (Hi Yugioh), so they are not fooling anyone. Just making us wait an extra week.

Your argument about CG is something along the lines of "he only kicked my in balls while he could stab me with a knife, what a nice bloke"... If you can't remember these jarring CG inserts then maybe dementia is kicking in, that would explain the rest of your post as well.

Except...no, because the combat is great in the anime. CG is never or VERY RARELY at most used. If you can't handle a very small amount of CG, don't watch anime. Studios use it for budget. It isn't their fault. At least they choose to use it at good times. Would you rather them use it during combat portions? Exactly, so stop complaining. Also, your example made 0 sense...

oh and forgot to mention. I'm assuming the dementia thing was based off my username. Really don't care as I have heard someone say that dozens of times over the years, but wanted to point out that making fun of a username is what 5 year olds do. That's like someone being called Richard and you being like "lol dick ha loser". It's quite immature and pathetic.

i was first like "so they will show this scene like it was, then change it in the end of it by having him come to her and report the foot prints". then i realized it was a recap when the flashbacks happened XD
