 The official website of TV anime Overlord II revealed that the series will be receiving a third season. Two new additional cast members have also been announced. The series is scheduled to premiere in Summer 2018 under the title Overlord III.Cast Gilkunif: Takahiro Sakurai (Osomatsu-san) Fulder: Takaya Hashi (Garo: Vanishing Line) The series is written by Kugane Maruyama with illustrations by so-bin. There are currently 12 volumes publishing with the 13th volume to be shipped on April 27. Yen Press licensed the novel series in North America under the Yen On imprint in hardcover format since May 24, 2016. Both previous seasons were adapted by studio Madhouse and each ran for a total of 13 episodes. It has also received two recap movies as well as various specials and an OVA. The first season was released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in November 2016 by Funimation. | In other words, season 2 was planned to be a split-cour from the beginning, else season 3 wouldn't be able to air so early. But I have to wonder: Will we get the extra vol. 8 or will it be skipped? Because depending on that we may or may not get vol. 10 adapted. Anyway, HYPE! We will get vol. 9 adapted no matter the case! |

That's in vol. 11 - the anime won't reach it, unless the anime producers skipped vol. 8 and only use 3 episodes per volume this time. That would be too rushed. |
