The final episode and D finally gets his showdown with his first dragon keeper, but he doesn’t get the final blow unfortunately and the boss monster is the one who shot him through the neck though I’m sure the stab through the chest finished the job we are going into the second season with the boss monster still alive and 4 dragon keepers instead of 5 now. Looking forward to the second season. See you all there 👍😛

Damn, Blue really died.

Nice to see D's backstory. Looks like he had already interacted with XX even before he transformed into Hibiki huh.

XX nooooooooo what are you doing... I gotta say, Hina Youmiya did a great job voicing XX, I didn't recognize her at all.

Man, Suzukiri is such a wild card. She got busted but not really. Until the previous episode, I thought she just wanted chaos and a change but from what Peltrola said and the image of those people in robes and a dragon behind, it seems there is more behind her. Also, it seems that there are others? That guy mentioned Peltrola but is he working with Suzukiri? What the hell is going on behind the scenes?

Whatever it is, Suzukiri is best girl. She is so alluring, her seiyuu did such a great job.

Is that you, Hibiki? I had to read the comments to realize haha, I had completely forgotten about the acid.

Well, for something that didn't catch my attention when Negi Haruba's new series was announced, it turned out to be one of the surprises of the season for me. It hooked me from the first episode and was one of the series I looked forward to the most each week. Truly one of my favorites of the season. If there's one thing to criticize it though, it's the weird fast pacing.

Anyway, very happy for that season 2 announcement. Can't wait for it!

This entire series was disappointing.

Not only were the fights poorly animated but they also cut off most of the comedic bits from the manga. Pacing was quite inconsistent as well.

I didn't expect a 1:1 adaptation. But I had atleast hoped we would've gotten something better than whatever this is.

I had high hopes for the director since his previous works were were very well made. Guess he should stick to original works rather than adaptations.

It's criminal how this didn't get any popularity at all, I thought the ED would do it's job and to top it off Disney doesn't even market any of their Anime's. Like do people know there's a new Code Geass anime that released recently?
@Ronninn This was Disney wtf??

D rushing to fight Blue doesn't make sense. How did he even found the confidence to face Blue? He barely defeats a single Petrolta's clone and that took a whole team. I liked the Anime more before Petrolta attacked, kinda going downhill since then.

Good episode, so he simply threw himself to fight because Blue Keeper was weak and without a plan... it seems that we do not learn very well from the mistakes although it is not bad to take advantage of the opportunity to kill him when he is weak but if you do not know how weak he is... it does not serve much hahaha although he did ¨good¨, bah.... they stole the kill at the end hahaha but ¨gano¨ so to speak.

The other members of the patrol seems that they forgot or nobody saw that the weapons that Sakurama (D) gave to the invading leader disintegrated as a certain ability that the enemies have, sorry but this nonsense makes the script questionable and I started to notice this more during this training arc so to speak, the first half I liked it a lot and this 2nd half mmmm is ok.

Suzukiri is slowly getting his hands on the divine weapons and without moving much hahaha I'm still interested to know his motives, if he has any.

PS: As I mentioned before, a leak had said that the 2nd season was announced with the final chapter and it turned out to be true, so I will watch the 2nd season when it comes out

PS2: If the character that we see at the end is the real Sakurama, it is quite a change of look

While this series as a whole was good I thought this episode was great as it showed a surprising twist by having Blue Keeper get killed although it was not satisfying to D. On the other hand, Suzukiri seems pretty satisfied with what happened to the point that Tokita is suspicious of her.

Overall I liked this season and I'm looking forward to the next one. 7/10

An underrated anime in my opinion, it deserved more viewers. The characters, the plot, the opening, and the ending are all excellent; the only downside is the pacing in which it developed, and that makes it lose quite a bit.

The good news is that there will be a second season. I can't wait to see how D deals with the remaining Dragon Keepers and what will happen to the stories of other interesting characters in this anime.

Pretty good adaptation and to be honest, better than the manga. Especially if we talk about the action scenes. Great job, Yostar Pictures. Now I don't know if I should read from chapter 52 and see how the studio will adapt the next chapters or if I keep my curiosity and wait for the next season.

What I liked about the plot is that sometimes it makes you doubt which side to support.

Red is definitely the one that D should destroy no matter what.

If it just ended on Blue dying in a super lame way, I would say this was kind of a miss, but with the current trend of calling a cour 2 a season 2, I'm more forgiving. 8/10.

Not bad season finale. It was a decent but not great fight with D, I wish he'd come up with some more tactics or strategies because he never stood a chance so it robbed it some of stakes but there was at least some solid emotion behind it. Blue seemed like the only halfway morally decent Ranger so of course he had to die. I've found Peltrola thoroughly boring so far but it's a nice twist that boss monster robbed D of his agency by interfering in the fight; win or lose the boss monster took that defining moment away from D and still treated him like just a minion.

Overall I felt like the series got into a bit of a funk when D returned to his undercover antics and we got into these exam eps & didn't really recover until part of this episode and even then just sort of. Maybe it's just misaligned expectations. The last thing I wanted was any camaraderie between D and the trainees most of who were bland anyway. Making the Rangers so rotten adds some nuance (and Red being such a complete and utter bastard is fun) but also feels like having our cake and eating it too because the monster main character isn't actually a bad guy.

Decent enough to check out season 2 and maybe I'll like it more with my expectations realigned. I'm curious what the yellow chick's motives are or if she's even human.

Everyones like talking about the Keeper dying and such

.

Here I am pondering the actual important detail...

Why is "XX" the only female fighter? LOL

We've seen the flashback... everyone was male... only XX... what was her purpose for being the only female fighter?

Is she somehow going to "birth" the boss monsters? since we've seen her "eat" boss monsters while saying the fighters are to serve the boss monsters and that it was the only way for her to "live".

.

And 4 left...

But I still wonder... will D actually go through and kill Hibiki's onee-chan? what does Hibiki think about that? hmm...

Clown ass D think he got a chance against Blue Keeper.
He should be thankful Petrola coming in with a sneak attack and just save his life.
This is how Monster should fight, used any dirty cheap trick.

Nahh Red Keeper is fcking sick.

That ending, is that real Hibiki?

7/10 for me, still so many mystery left to be unfold.
I have so many questions about Suzukiri.

Hopefully next season they could fixed the pacing issues.

Good but it's kind underwhelming how they killed Blue keeper. And how can that guy still alive after getting a donut? Let's see what happens nxt...

Anyway Yostar did a great work. Visual, soundtrack, ost everything was top notch. And tbh, I didn't expect this much they can deliver or the story have that capability, but it was splendid. They proved me wrong. Love it and waiting for s2.

Honestly, I don't like that the Blue Keeper died, compared to red and pink at least, he seems like the most normal one and the one that really wants peace, he even accepted a duel with the MC. I would have loved if the pink guy healed him or something, but killing him? Not the best outcome imo.

@amlg She wasn't the only one though, she is the only one we've seen with hair, but there were other fighters with female voices in the first episodes.

The story was all over the place, the show can't decide if it's an absurd comedy or a serious tone action, but it's unbalanced, it tries to be too many things at the same time.
A ton of new characters appearing at the same time in the middle of the season, all uninteresting and bland, most characters don't make sense in their decisions and dialogues.
The art/animation is meh and can't make up for a poorly writen plot.

Confusing character motivations, confusing stakes, confused main character, confusing world building.
Waste of time. It started fairly well, but was such a drag to watch the second half of this season.

An other proof that an original and intriguing initial concept, is worthless if the writing/storytelling is poor.
Mediocre anime. It's a 4/10

Hmm, was the guy that got caught by the red keeper a human? Does that mean there's another organization that wants to overthrow the Rangers? I'm really curious about Suzukiri's background, the boss monster mentioned she was a survivor. Also who's the woman that the blue keeper mentioned when D asked him about the barrier.

That's Hibiki at the end there right? Wonder what happened to him, his face looks like it got injured from a fight. This season was fun, I'm looking forward to the next one. 8/10

The score for this entire production has been excellent.

It was rushed at the end there. But still an enjoyable ride.

I hope they expand and fully adapt everything in another cour. Or full 2 cour second season.

Since thats probably for the best to go through the last three dragon keepers. With a high degree of value for their entire stories.

If that doesn't happen then at least this was fun. With little complaints in anything with its production. And very memorable performances by the seiyuus.

I'd still recommend this one.

Not at the top of any list alone. (Why I want a fully fleshed out completion)
But worthy as an initial starting point for certain.

It sucks the blue ranger is gone. He was genuinely the most decent among the other dragon rangers. Red is literally the worst of all of them.

Peltrola is also just as bad as the Dragon Rangers. I'm actually mad that he killed Blue.

Although I'm happy to have seen D's development as a person and fighter.

Even in the finale, things won't be so simple as a battle between good and evil Fighter D. It's just not that kind of story! This show had an excellent cast, loved the mcs performance as Fighter D. The battles were captivating, the concept was unique and I'm happy to have been watching. Can't wait for season 2!

for what initially seemed like a power rangers parody, this was actually pretty decent. i want to see how this goes

the mc is essentially a villain turned anti hero? and the yellow #2 girl seems almost to be more of a villain. but the "dragon keepers" and "boss monsters" are also monsters/villains. just an interesting concept

not quite an 8/10, but definitely a solid 7/10 or maybe even 7.5/10

Solid ending and a solid show. The initial and final moments of the show were the best parts. The middle episodes were alright, I wish they didn't cut a lot of the character backstories from the manga though. Blue's fight with D was also cool. I got a feeling season 2 will make things more interesting.

Well, Negi Haruba can write some good shit whenever he wants! It was cool frankly, the arc about becoming a ranger was maybe a bit too long but overall I really enjoyed it. This reversal of roles, although not total either, was interesting with the 3rd option taken by our Sentouin D.

Some of the drawings were of a crazy quality, the design was damn good and the animation was good. A brilliant OP by Tatsuya Kitani.

Cool that there's a season 2!

can't say the final episode was super great or got me excited for what's to come, guess I would probably watch S2 but I don't have high hopes for it.

overall I think it was a good anime, but not as good as I was hoping it would be.

I'm not sure if it's the adaptation or the story itself but the pacing also seems super weird and the narrative paths just take the most unhinged directions at times (not in a good way), it's kind of in a frustrating way like...why the hell did you decide to this in this way...idunno it just comes across as messy storytelling to me.
