Loved this anime, so wholesome, Tamahiko and Yuzu are sweetness overload. I hope they'll make and OVA or something to adapt the last arc of the manga (and hopefully it's sequel will get an adaptation too someday).

The way the last episode ended, it seems like they are putting a conclusion for the anime. I wonder if they will adapt the rest of the manga. Likely, it's because the story gets a little complicated with the family drama. Furthermore, Tamahiko and Yuzu sleeping together scene may create another twitter controversy.

I loved this show way more than I expected I would. The first half in particular was a masterclass example of fluffy, cute, wholesome anime goodness. But with just enough drama sprinkled in to make it feel meaningful. At that point I thought it was a 9/10, maybe even a 10 if it stays consistent!

Unfortunately the quality started to dip in the second half. beginning when the Shiratori twins showed up and the last two episodes felt very, very rushed. The second half was more like a 7/10.

So I am kind of conflicted what I should actually score this show. 8/10 sounds about right but I'd give it an 8.5 if I could.

Not my kind off anime at all. Though I enjoyed it at the beginning. It turns into something like this is just.. an average 5/10 should suffice.

I'm also wondering if anyone knows the name of the song she sang to the children near the start-I remember it from the planetarian VN.

Yuzu's been singing "Hoshi no Yo" (ๆ˜Ÿใฎ็•Œ) throughout the series. There's a lot of versions on YT, but I like this one. For the Planetarium cover.

Thanks! Was looking for this song for ages :)

Enjoyable watch overall, pretty decent adaptation imo. They didn't adapt the last arc with Tamahiko's family, so I wonder if they'll make an OVA later?

the song is actually an old hymn: "What a friend we have in Jesus". Planetarian has some overt christian themes so it's inclusion there is no surprise. But it makes me wonder if Yuzu was brought up in a Christian household. An interesting thought.

Sweet final episode. It was quite nice to see more of Yuzu's perspective.

Overall, I found this anime to be pretty good when it comes to fluff and wholesome content but incredibly bad when it comes to drama and its execution. "Great Kanto Earthquake" mini-arc being the exception but honestly, it's not like you can fail when you use such dramatic natural disaster as setting.
Anyways... back to the drama aspect, I gotta say I really disliked how the series handled it. Tamako's first impression left a really bad taste in my mouth, Tamahiko's father being so cartoonishly evil was laughable and god knows I absolutely hated Ryou's whole existence in this series. Still can't believe the author actually "redeemed" such awful person but whatever.

5/10 - Would have been so much better without the annoying drama. Or if only it had been better written...

Damn, this is an interesting one. This might be the first anime in existence that actually benefits from not being a complete adaptation (Aside from Usagi Drop maybe but that's a whole different can of worms, lol.

I read the manga some time ago and I remember that basically everything that happens after the final episode drags the overall story down a lot for me. Although the adapted parts shortened some parts or left parts out, they really nailed all of the key scenes in the anime and I actually got more emotionally invested than I did while reading the manga. Overall 8/10 for the anime, the manga as a whole got a 6/10 from me.

That was such a wholesome anime, I loved it.

One thing that was in the back of my mind is, I wonder what Tamahiko and Yuzu did during ww2, I wonder were they super nationalistic, like most Japanese were at that time.

Note that Tamahiko would be 33 at the start of the WW2 and 35 during Pearl Harbor

An adorable (anime only) ending to an adorable series. I am going to miss my weekly dose of diabetes. Yuzu and Tamahiko are easily one of the sweetest couples ever.

I really wish they did a complete adaptation since there is still quite a bit of the story they ended up not getting to. I am not holding my breath though.

For anyone who watched this, liked it, and wants more, I would highly recommend checking out the manga.

that passionate kiss of Yuzu was so special and she didn't even noticed all others that witnessed it! that was a strong emotional point of this episode!
that song of Kotori (poppin' party member) VA Ayasa Ito was very nice! especially the long version of it!
Also all the three girls ... well all four of them are so fun about their interaction! the more the merrier. especially the blabbering of Tamako & Ryou!
i will definitely wait for OVA or short movie since the remaining source material isn't enough for a long movie especially not enough for an S2...
5/5.

The finale is a nice nod to the manga for having the final episode's title be the final chapter's title.

Yuzu's tale of her growing up days until the time that she was sold to the Shima Family to settle her family's debts and ending up taking care of Tamahiko, her worldview has changed a lot ever since getting to know him better. That's at least her dream...

...but the Great Kanto Earthquake, more than being separated from Midori, left her devastated of any hope left of living. That is...until Tamahiko called out to her and that voice of desperation is heartfelt to awake her senses. Of course, Tamahiko is elated that Yuzu's alive, but the sudden kiss in front of the main cast...was embarrassing enough xD

Uncle Tamasuke, younger sister Tamako, the Shiratori siblings and friend Ryo are happy that Yuzu came up to, but I still hate their father (and older sister Tamayo) with a flaming passion. The crux that he's no longer a Shima (the anime didn't really explain that detail, but TL;DR he abandoned the Shima name) is indicative of how hostile he is to their father. But whatever it is, everyone were coming along and recovering well.

A bit of a timeskip, and all the cast (the main and supporting) all come together for their final appearance. Of course the ladies now know that Yuzu's big on top, and the guys act like kids bathing in the hot spring. Some personal matters of grievance on Ryo's part to Yuzu, and Tamako STILL can't get enough of the jealousy LOLS. The final respect back to Tamahiko is the birthday celebration that they missed for quite awhile, and he took that with thanks in detail to everyone journeying with him and changing his life for the better.

One last time: give it up for the relationship sweetness between Yuzuki and Tamahiko, with the affirming love and kiss under the fox-spirit tree.

I'm very glad that the anime improved upon the source material. Conveniences may feel contrived in the manga, and the anime gave context which IMO one-upped the adaptation.

Can we expect a new season ?

Damn this episode was very nice. They made a very good job of capping this series, and all the characters escaped the Great Kanto Earthquake with big smiles and positivity. Also HUGE advances on Yuzu and Tamahiko, like our girl seriously just kissed him in the hospital, HELL YES. Ryou also amended with Yuzu, and I guess the dad has become numb with his son, well fine atleast we don't need to get angry to him anymore. Yuzu x Tamahiko kisses everywhere in the end, and I love it!!!

And this is my very last episode that I will watch this year. 2021 has not been a good year in terms of me watching anime. But this anime, and this last episode, made for a very comfortable and heart-warming conclusion to My Anime Experience for this year. Hoping for very great things in 2022, and to leave this year behind, just like the anime's rating for me, I'll give it an 8/10.

"And thus, they lived happily after."

Or so we hoped, but thankfully the story stops here. If it had continued for like 20 years into the future, it's going to be a tragedy, instead.

If Oshin had been an iyashikei anime with no tragedy and mostly happy moments, Taishou Otome Otogibanashi would be it, probably?
I haven't read the manga, but I do love that the anime added touches that wouldn't exist in manga-form. (Plus: it basically had everything that was on Planetarian, so I can't helped not to be biased for it.)
Man, if only I have a girl as cute and caring as Yuzu in my own life.

Achieved what it set out to do fairly well, some nicely directed scenes here and there, competent writing thoughout... but I could only feel quite limited enjoyment and immersion from the setting and premise. 5-6/10 probably, solid but not spectacular

Yuzu finally confessed her love to Tamahiko which was something I wanted to see how she would do and it was done in a very unexpected way and she even kissed him in front of everyone (well she didn't realize it though). But the mood was ruined by Tamahiko's father and his sister Tamayo. In the end it finished in a nice way with Tamahiko kissing Yuzu.

This was a very sweet anime with an awesome finale. As a person with a disability myself and having gone through depression, I can somewhat relate to Tamahiko’s situation, so it was very satisfying seeing him develop and come out of his depression throughout the series. I hope for a S2 or OVAs to adapt the rest of the manga.

Jesus if I got £1 for every time I thought "So cute" during this series, I'd have a good £100 lol.

I loved this series. It was so wholesome and adorable and I'm really happy to add this to my wholesome romance anime list.

I love the fact its set in that 1900s time period where its like tsudo modern time, tsudo Edo era style. Kind of like Senbonzakura style from Hatsune Miku. Love that style.

I'd say the only mark on this series would be Ryo's initial introduction but other than that its a great series. Will definitely re-watch this in the future.

I've been watching anime for over 8 years and I've already forgotten what it means that a certain title stimulates your emotions to such an extent that you don't think about anything else but to turn on the next episode while tears run down your cheeks. The best romance I have ever experienced, and this is the first time, after over 1500 titles, that I want to read a manga. No title has ever achieved that (except Little Busters, but this is VN so it doesn't count, I guess). I will not write what I liked, because it would be too long a text and I doubt that anyone would want to read, but I can say one bad thing - too short, but I don't know how long the manga material is, maybe they adapted all the chapters and not there was nothing else to screen. I know, I write like a fanatic in superlatives, but as I wrote before - since a REALLY LONG TIME I feel that I haven't watched anime "mechanically", but with a full range of feelings, emotions and enjoyment.

Undisputed 10/10 and Yuzuki is an angel, not a human.

This is really lovable to watch. The two of them and also to the other characters are seriously adorable thanks to the great animation and also to their respective VA/CV. It was really worthwhile to watch this!

P.S. I really love the soundtrack/music of every episode. I don't know the genre for the music but it really takes me back and felt nostalgic.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Finally, Yuzu confessed ! That was the one thing that was missing in their relationship.

Well, that was a cute show, though I found it quite boring and often too cutesy (and I'm not at all against heartwarming shows). Call me heartless but I found the show to be at its best when it was dealing with the earthquake and Yuzu's disappearance (speaking of the earthquake, I was surprised at how well the aftermath was portrayed).
And I found most of the characters to be cute but not that interesting despite having potential, Yuzu being the best example.

I did enjoy it though, especially to see Tamahiko's growth. I just felt like it was lacking something (or in opposition was trying too hard when it comes to the heartwarming aspect), so I give it 6/10.

What a great way to end the series! It saddens me that having a cutesy and wholesome relationship like Yuzu and Tamahiko's is a bit rare nowadays. Overall, I enjoyed the series and all of the "colorful" moments. However, Tamahiko's brother was quite sidelined, which was a bit of a waste tbh, but nonetheless all is well that ends well.

Pretty good romance story. Though It was too basic and too sweet. I wish it had a bit more drama and detailed storyline. This one kind of reminds me of Haikara-san (bit similar themes like taisho era, arranged marriage, kanto earthquake, family troubles) which I like more than this because that one has more depth and details in a lower runtime than this

I enjoyed this show. Glad that the two met again and surprisingly his dad also came. I think even he acts cold, he still cares for his son.

Kinda felt like Tamahiko has a harem with all the girls there.

The relaxing, sweet atmosphere is what I like, but this ruined by some few moments. It was later covered by sugary sweetness again.
