I really enjoyed the first episode. I just browsed through this seasons' anime and the synopsis catched my eyes and one episode later - here I am - totally in love and looking forward to how the story unfolds. I don't know anything about the story and I'm looking forward to next weeks' episode!

Judging by the first episode this wiill be fun to watch that is for sure.
Here is the music video for the ED.

The manga has some of the best character dynamics I've seen outside of Uzaki-Chan wa Asobitai. After reading some of the chapters online, I actually went and bought the available volumes off of Amazon. The manga is that much of a page turner.

The anime itself is an excellent adaptation. It dials down the fan-service a little, but otherwise the character designs and art-style are both kept intact. Of a special note is that the actress in this music video, Akari Akase, looks 1 to 1 like a realization of Kitagawa, so huge props to the artists on that video and the actress herself.

I had to rewatch the episode because I was certain something like a pantsu shot doesn't get by me that easily. Lord and behold it showed up at the 19:12 mark. MFChrist this going to be one of those anime that discreetly and covertly have tasteful fanservice. If you turn away or even blink you'd think there wasn't any like I did.

Well... Less is more. World's End Harem shoves the fanservice right into your face heh while this one made you pay close attention and wait whether it will show up or not. It did for almost one second and the world is at peace once again.

Ironically, the tiny flashes of fanservice we got in this episode (and, presumably going forward) are far sexier than entire ecchi anime.

So the girl tells him that he is being used and he should speak up for the sake of his own health and later in the EP she is like "hey dude, sew this to me" I understand the guy won't change in a dime but she could have offered a compensation since she showed that she is respectful to others like "I'll give 1k yen if you sew this for me" and then they build a relationship of the sorts.

Beautiful!

This was a great start to this series. First thing that stood out to me was NEW VOICES!!!!! I've never heard these two MC voices and its always great to get a new anime along with new voices. Of course you've got the known good voice actors but having a new voice to listen with no previous associated characters is really good.

I really like the female lead. She's a gal for one which we barely ever see gal leads and her personality is super unique. She's really likable.

Can't wait to watch more of this.

I really adore the Artstyle and noticed today that CloverWorks also animated Horimiya which I also liked. It´s interesting that a boy with an unusual hobby resonates with a pretty girl. The Humor was on point. Looking forward to the next episodes.

Where the heck did Marin fall from? Was she was she on top of the desks? She sure hit her head hard. She should have a concussion. Though I guess that explains why she thought it would be a good idea to strip naked and change into cosplay in a school room with nothing but a sliding door. Lol

I like the art style. Feels like Gojou's voice doesn't quite match how he looks like I feel it should be a bit deeper or fuller but oh well it works. Unlike what some here have said I dont find him talking to the dolls creepy at all just the way he gazes practically drooling over their faces is a little bit odd.

I've heard about the manga or more like I'm always hearing good things about this manga. When it was announced that it would be getting an anime adaptation, it became my most anticipated anime of this season.

Cloverworks did an amazing job on the first episode and I hope the quality doesn't drop too much. The premise is interesting and Kitagawa looks smoking hot. The art itself is very pretty and beautiful. I like the amount of details they put into the models.

4/5, I kinda disliked how close to home this hits in the whole lack of friends due to being socially awkward and having a hobby no one is into and thus have a limited range of topics, but other than that I enjoyed this.

The characters seem interesting, and while I don't really empathize with the MC's hobby, we all need one, and not all of them make sense to our peers. The vibrant colors really made Marin stand out too.

First half the episode is plain boring, and the MC look like typical annoying male MC in romance anime. The girl also suddenly fell out of table, at first she kinda cool and likable by helping the MC on cleaning schedule but when she knows he could make cosplay costume for her, she danced happily which I find it cringe. Don't know why people hyped this so much, maybe just because that girl likely could fulfill waifu material and could became otaku's "digital waifu". Dropped this already.

Good premiere. It's a fun series with quite a faithful adaptation by Cloverworks.

Marin is one stunningly gorgeous girl. I draw characters myself and I'm very intrigued with how the author can come up with such gorgeous girl design. Is it her big-round eyes? Her salmon hue palette? Her long eyelashes? Her bangs? Her face shape? Or the combination of everything? Haha. I really can't put my finger on it.

I love the characterisation of our two main leads. I love people with interesting hobbies that they are passionate about and love. Seeing two of them getting to know each other, I'm hopeful already.

Also Kitagawa's design is amazing! I also wonder how many people are like Gojo, have hobbies that are so niche that they never tell a soul.

I'm a bit disappointed with episode one. Marin is so cute and her design makes me think of Sydsnap (I'm a fan of Garnt, the main reason for watching the show).

Sadly they gave her the role of manic pixie dream girl. I was really hoping for a proper slice of life not sad boy and cheerful girl that validates his one thing in life. Doesn't even make sense in 2022, Anime is mainstream and cosplay is a well accepted hobby socially.

If they had it set in the 90s when those hobbies were looked down then Marin's interest would have been seen as a breakthrough, in 2022 though...

To the girl in the opening flash back; damn, calm down it's his family's business.

The high schools has a sewing practice room it there's no arts & crafts club nor is home economics an elective according to Marin? I'm guessing there might be a drama club that uses it for costumes and curtains...

Gojou is hella suspicious of that title Marin's favourite character is from.

If she were truly a stock MPDG, wouldn't she be really good at creating cosplay outfits also? I thought being OP was a MPDG requirement. In any case, hopefully she'll have as much of a character arc as Gojo inevitably will.

Wow a slice of life anime that's actually interesting for once.

It'll be interesting to see Wakanas character development and possible new hobbies he would get. His sewing hobby allows that potential, since he has to use manga, and anime reference that Marin likes that he has to take a look into.

Would have given them all due credit if they went that direction, instead she is passive and the camera creeps on her which is frankly lame.

No. The whole point of MPDG is that she is a dream girl. whatever the guy needs to show the world his talent or fill in a gap. In this particular case, he needs a living doll. She "needs" him which is the dream part for most people.

If anything the doll part is what's putting me off. They didn't have the guts to make him an otaku that likes figures because that's their target audience so they went with those creepy hana figures or whatever they use for new year. Something similar but won't offend their audience or turn them away from buying said figures.

It might just be my cynicism talking but this series is just way too calculating. Like they're paving the ground for figurine sales with a million possible different ones per episode.

The "creepy hina dolls" are a cultural thing; they're not considered creepy in Japan any more than Torii gates or shrines or anything else that touches on their cultural heritage.

I think it is your cynicism talking; they clearly wanted to set up as wide a contrast as they could b/t the two leads. If Gojo had been into anime figurines, they'd have otaku-dom in common.

Re:Marin being an MPDG, I think it all depends on her character development. If she remains static throughout the show's run then yep, MPDG.

That would have honestly been interesting to watch. Him into the figurine part and her into cosplay. There is a recent one that had Otakus met up as adults and get along, the fandoms didn't even cross because they had different interests and just met in the middle somewhere. (WOTAKU NI KOI WA MUZUKASHII)

It's too early to judge anything. It's just episode one after all but I am a bit disappointed, Sad boy + MPDG is just such a boring storyline.

PS: Hina Dolls are beautiful and VERY expensive. The way he treated in the show was the creepy part. You can practically hear him say "NO MY WAIFU" when he almost dropped the head. The author just swapped it out for something else because they want you to buy merch so no negative association with it allowed

SONO BISQUE DOLL WA KOI WO SURU Episode 1 IMPRESSION

I can finally see why so many people that into anime begin to dislike this one specific genre's. "School-life" is basically a washed-up idea that ruined by the culture from being romanticizing too much.

It seems like the author too afraid or lazy to chose a bold choices of plot, and just run with the always worked formula that everybody else already did, that everybody else already loved. Just so they can lay an assuring foundation to their story hoping everyone would blow their mind on how relatable it is. But the truth is, who hasn't seen this scenario? you can kinda predict (even if you're dumb (like me)) and pinpoint exactly what would happen in the next 20 minutes of the episode without even sweating. And here we see the proof of the wise word that once said "It always the same formula. Just with a different characters and a springkle of fanservices here and there, and there you have it. A washed-up idea called 'School-life' genre's"

Let's hope in the upcoming episodes they would leave or get rid or stay the hell out of "School-life" topic as much as they can, and just delves completly into this boy dressing up the girl wholesome stuff, that clearly is the only thing that can still offer something new to our tables

And one more thing, as much as i despises Ijirenaide Nagatoro-san (basically the same washed-up idea), atleast the lead female there still has some characters in her

I agree 100 %. Plus this type of romance anime keeps real life Gojos addicted to this shit.

But if he grows a set of balls later on, which would enable him to fuck the girl, I guess that's fine.
