Also a lot of the more exoterical pieces seem to not serve any purpose in my opinion, and even fans of the show, can only come up with the shallowest of meanings and at the end end, just say that it's there to move the plot, to me that would be the same as having the plot rely on coincidences over and over again.
The only two things i like is the artstyle, a good amount of the direction(even if the content isn't the best), and the chemistry between the two main characters, also when the two of them most interacted was the only section of the anime i truly enjoyed, but that ended with the ridiculous Bike "accident".
A lot of the story is full "ridiculous" moments even by in universe rules, their backstory, how older brother does all of this super specialized/secret work when also leaving a regular teenager life, filled with gfs, the incestuous undertones(i know they're not siblings but still), the sister also isn't a character at all, the end goal of several of the characters are stuff out of a pre-teen's head and not in a fun way.
Re:Zero is definitely not amazing, the character design is weak, is full of bad fanservice, sometimes the gore is there just to up the ante, waifu wars and several characters are too perfect, harem, also a lot of problems usual with LN adaptations, like too much introspective and overly quirky/cutesy dialogue.
But what i like about S1, is how you can see scenes playing out in completely different ways, it's a bit like a mystery, in that you're presented to a situation where you have to piece how you can make the most out of it with the multiples point of views that you're getting, the good action also helps.
S2 on the other hand loses a lot of the the aspects i liked about S1, we don't move on from a single small location for too damn long, the entire season is just one arc, while S1 was 4, the last 2 connected, this time when we get multiple perspectives, they're of completely different things that don't really directly interconnect to previous "runs", making it look separated to the main storyline, even if later those two might actually be connected, too many redhearings, a weak and uninteresting villain with a ridiculous motivation, bad action, some of the shifts in tone are too steep, somethings happen with no explanation or are a little too convenient, story that feels like filler and we don't care what happens to these people.
First of all, I've watched and observed many voice acting in Anime with my decent Japanese listening comprehension, so I could immediately tell that her delivery sounds natural and emotionally accurate. I also learned acting for several years, so I kind of understand the process of "becoming" a character.
Let me explain briefly. Her character undergoes a complex mental state where on one hand, she loves badminton while on the other hand, her complete lost in the tournament decrease her confidence and enjoyment on the sport. In terms of acting, the actor of course needs to understand the character's personality, background, etc. Let me focus on the motivation. Regarding the first episode, to be specific, the actor needs to undertand the character's passion first, because that enables the motivation of the later conflict makes sense. Then add another layer of internal conflict, which is in a form of the lost in the beginning match that leads to her depressed and angry state. Lastly, since there is a part in the episode where she opens up to her friend on how she feels, the actor needs to add that as well as a motivation to be able to cry in that scene. Now, I think Shimabukuro-san managed to incorporate all of those and delivered it very well. It's kind of hard to explain the actual indicators like her tones, tempo, volume, etc. Because in real life, in your native language, you can immediately tell when someone is angry, sad, etc. But sometimes you can't immediately specify why they act like that, or what kind of sadness they are having right now. And if your Japanese comprehension is not sufficient enough, you mas miss some of the details in the intonation, pitch, and volume. I hope my explanation is enough.
Sorry sonny, but that's just how life it is. It's called Never Live It Down (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Laconic/NeverLiveItDown)
