Wholesome Slice of Life is My Way of Life
Hi there. The name is Yosep. I'm filling up my "about me" section out of obligation because leaving it empty will make me unable to sleep at night.
I'm a Slice of Life connoisseur in forever search for the
true slice of life series. A true SOL is a series that will give you the warmth of life, something you can relate to, and something you can learn from. So, my definition of slice of life series is basically Iyashikei. That's why I'm not quite as fond of with anything other than Iyashikei, such as romcom-setting slice of life. They are basically romcoms! Not slice of life, damn it! 🤣 (Except if it's a good romance slice of life such as Tenshi-sama)
My rating system is subjective, judged purely based on how "comfortable" I am when I was reading/watching the series. Therefore, feel free to not use it. But... If you see yourself as having a similar taste to mine, then a few of my 9/10 or 10/10 will hit the sweet spot in your heart.
Just for trivia, here's how I give ratings:
10 > Gems. These series are super special to me. The reason mainly because I can vividly imagine myself entering the world of the story. Being a third person, observing the characters living their life and feel all of their emotions. These are the series that are in my top buy list and will quickly buy it whenever I have spare changes in my pocket. Personal masterpieces.
9 > Very Good. The series that stands out among others. And I had a great time while reading/watching it.
8 > Good. Just the standard 'good'. It's enjoyable but nothing more.
7 > Average. Nothing special..... Good? Maybe... Bad? That's too harsh, but maybe.
6 > Bad. Couldn't enjoy it at all. The reasons are mostly 'not my cup of tea'.
5 and below > Beyond Trash. Hated it. Not gonna have a second look. And got irritated whenever it pops up on my screen..
Thank you for visiting my profile. Let's be friends and talk about wholesome series 😄.

Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria Appreciation
First and foremost, I curse you Eiji Mikage, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating such work. I also thank Eusth for the translation and all the people included in the project. I know I don't have to feel the pain of waiting and many uncertainties to whether the book is going to be dropped by the author.
What a read... What a fucking read, indeed. This is so fucked up in a very good way. I don't know. All the words and memorable events while reading it is jumbled inside my head and I don't know where to start. The mind boggling twists still left me twisted in many different ways. I experienced a lot of things in it, pleasures and sorrows. I really don't fucking know how to express it, and I really hated it when it happens. But most of the times, it describes how GOOD THE BOOK WAS...!!!!
And now, I have to cope with this huge void left by it, the biggest one I've ever had, wondering how the characters especially Kazuki and Maria deal with their life afterwards, looking at it from a worldview perspective as my little world that I could see at anytime anywhere. But unfortunately, I couldn't. That's why I hate picking up a new book because when I happen to pick up a masterpiece like HakoMari, this kind of void is very hard to deal with. But I also feel an enormous gratitude for a life-like journey I had from it.
In the end..... I curse you Eiji Mikage, I really do, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating such work, again, I really do. Just you know, you have left a mark in this world by creating this book, to at least one single human that is me. I hope for you and your dearest one's greatest health and well-being. Thank You. 100/10

明けましておめでとう!!!

And same, prayers for you and your loved ones as well my friend, I hope the holidays have been going good for you and continue to do so.
Hope you been doing good. Just wanna let you know that I've just completed Mahoutsukai no Yome ! ヾ(^-^)ノ
Mahoutsukai no Yome - I actually started the series with the OVA 'Hoshi Matsu Hito' first. I must say, although it's just a short 3eps, I enjoyed it way more compared to the anime series. The story and the background OSTs in the OVA were so good ! It made me very intrigued going into the anime. The 24eps anime was very much enjoyable too but I guess there were some parts that I didn't quite like. In a way it sort of reminded me of Natsume Yuujinchou. Both have some relaxing/wholesome moments, and yet at the same time everything is literally trying to kill the main characters. MahoYome was slightly more towards the darker side I guess. And maybe it's just me, but the OSTs in the anime were slightly... annoying? at times? and didn't blend well with certain scenes? (at least for me), which is weird considered I love the OVA ones so much and both done by same person... hmm.
Anyway, I said all that but overall I still enjoyed it. Thank you for the recommendation ! ^^
Gonna watch the last OVA up next. 'Nishi no Shounen to Seiran no Kishi' !
Sate sate sate... since my previous recommendation to you didn't go so well. I shall try my best again.
Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou
Lucky Star
Isekai Shokudou
I'll let you discover what these are about on your own. Hopefully at least one will interest you.
Cheers~ ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ
Oh dear Yuru Camp... I missed it so much... looks like someone has sparked my desire to rewatch as well. Tbh I haven't done any rewatching for any series so far. There are so many series I wanna just sit down relax & rewatch, but I keep discovering more and more new series ! (*´﹃`)
Ah I see you're a manga reader too yourself. For manga, I tend to only read series that doesn't have an anime adaptation. I'm a slow reader so it always take me ages to finish one series... I̶ ̶u̶s̶u̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶t̶r̶y̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶s̶e̶c̶r̶e̶t̶l̶y̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶d̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶d̶u̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶ ̶b̶u̶t̶ ̶l̶a̶t̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶I̶'̶v̶e̶ ̶b̶e̶e̶n̶ ̶b̶u̶s̶y̶ ̶a̶f̶ ̶u̶r̶r̶g̶h̶h̶h̶ (`Д´)
Please do ! It doesn't necessarily has to be Iyashikei/SoL. I find that seeking recoms from others help me discover many great series that I wouldn't have watched it myself. (Past schedules 📅 - it was from these try and error that I actually realized that I'm also a big fan of historical genre anime, but not so much of mecha etc). ^^
I'm sure you have some gems hidden in your library... ψ`ー´)ノ
(quick stalk) aha! Mahoutsukai no Yome ! I shall steal this from your library arigato hehe !
well since I stole one... I shall put one of mine in return. Blue Period (Saw you rated quite highly for some Visual Arts related drama/SoL anime, and this was the first came to my mind.
I shall put Mahoutsukai no Yome up my list for my next month watch. Will let you know what I think about it soon hehe (eventhough you never asked for it) (¬‿¬)
