Great episode. Liked the insert song, they always make an episode awesome. Obviously Mai is still alive, though I almost thought for a second that she died when she exploded. A very sad ending to the episode, even though I dislike those two.

Tbh, I didn't really care much for those two. I found it strange that no one stopped little miss from firing the satellite when were like a few meters away, hell why didn't Kagutsuchi just flame her is beyond me.

This is the best episode so far! I couldn't help but to feel a little sorry for Alyssa and Miyu though.

Wow.. is all I can say. The ending was alittle sad, but it didn't make me cry. They deserved it.

This show is good and all, but some reason i'm finding it hard to connect with the characters.

well the show is only about the characters mostly. If you don't connect with them you connect with nothing basically. There wasn't much to the plot (up until now anyway). All the rest of the previous episodes were spent on character building. Who can deny this? (shrugs)

I'm currently finding Natsuki and Nao to be the two most interesting characters.

I can connect to Mai somewhat, but it's nowhere near the resonance that I've had with characters like Shinji (Evangelion) and Éclair (Kiddy Grade).

LOL at Natsuki saying that from now on Mai is dead and she will be the main character. Actually that could be an improvement. She looks more interesting.

Mai going overpower in this episode. Is that bird of hers a phoenix or something? It gets destroyed and born again from fire?

It's an anime rule. Like in the movies were the bad guy has to capture the good guy first and explain his whole plan taking enough hour for something to happen so the good guy can escape, this is the same thing. In anime you must never stop your opponent from doing the super attack.

Why they didn't give shit about other people. If they were able to feel like that for each other why weren't they able to understand that other people feel like that for the ones they care also.

I thought this too, but they way they executed this episode was more epic than just killing those two in one firey blast lol.

I feel like some huge plot twist is incoming though... with searrs organzation out of the way, and a ton more episodes to go...

Is it just me or does it feel like this show hasn't gone into much depth about anything, we learn basic intentions, but we didn't learn what would've happened if their plan was a success. We never learned what was at stake if the HiMEs failed other than the students getting massacred. And we don't even know wheelchair girls and Nagis true intentions, they could be bad guys.. Nagi really doesn't feel like a good guy to me :P

agree 100%, i freaking hate characters like him in anime "I have to fight because i'm a man! Have to protect the girl! Even though i'm up against huge monsters and people with superpowers when i have none myself!" if this wasn't anime, characters like him would die in 2 seconds flat. :D

Wow and just like that the Searrs arc is over (?) next one in 300 years ... wonder if the next arc is anywhere as good as this though.

With the artificial HIME arc out of the way, I'm not entirely sure who the next antagonists will be. Wasn't the director actually some kind of monster camouflaged in a disabled human shell? It's very hard to imagine her as evil though. I suppose Nagi's always been a suspicious character without much regard for human life, but his motivations aren't necessarily bad.

Oh, my dear Lord, give me patience and give it to me now. That Tate guy is becoming really annoying, I simply can't care abut anything that has to do with him.
Mai was not bad this episode, but she still has her own share in raising my blood pressure with that ''why can't we all just get along'' attitude.

What it must feel like to spend your entire life being told you shouldn't exist...

From the looks of that organisation it looks like this is far from the first time that they have failed - most of those seats are empty. A new guy wears the ring; a new guy in charge?

And we still don't know what Nagi and the headmistress are really up to.

And there's still one hime missing? There should be 12 and there have been 12 but Alyssa is artificial so does she count?

I don't understand this and maybe the reason you give it is because you are female but guys always feel like the should protect the girl. Have you watched, idk, anything before? The only male characters or males period who don't try to help are always seen as cowards. I see a guy whose who feels emasculated because he cannot help the people he cares about, nor do they want his help and more importantly, want him to but out. I agree that he should just bury his feelings and move on though.

I'm also glad the golden girl is gone because she was truly devoid of feelings for others and if she had a second chance she would again attempt to kill a school full of children to get what she wanted. Also Mai has the best/badass guardkan of them all and weapon is waaay more effect than anyone else's.

This show gets more and more interesting as it goes, I'd almost say it seemed like Searrs went down too quick.

Also does anyone know the name of the song hat plays when Mai starts flying towards you see other characters flashing on the screen. I think it played earlier in the series too can't seem to find it.

Finally - an epic showdown.

I thought Kagutsuchi was a phoenix and not surprised it survives the blast - what's surprising is that its power is transferred to Mai so she became phoenix as well, and can survive in outer space too!

Tate is again an useless character. He is again turning away from Shiho and put her in danger because he cannot stop loving Mai at the same time unable to admit it. Seems like every anime needs one grating character or something, and this one gotta be the male MC. Bury him already.

Agreed with the above that Alyssa and Miyu would get some sympathy. The reason? Simple, innate human feelings to always sympathize with females, no matter good or bad.

If you're looking for the first flight up to Eclipse 1 Atremis it's Yamiyo no Prologue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsPG1tUmB74&index=13&list=PL1B8E9F283564C79D

Yeeeeee Kagutsuchi mega evolves and defeats Alyssa's child, saving the students of Fuka!

As much as Alyssa and Miyu were the bad guys it's still sad to see them go :(

Why did sister yukariko stay behind??? On that sseaside cliff, she could have summoned St. Vlas in front of Alyssa and Miyu to

Although I guess if Miyu neutralizes the materializing equipment then I guess that might not be able to effect her and she could have easily destroyed St. Vlas as a result. Oh well.

What a great episode, my disliking for that loli and her stupid android was severe, but I still felt something seeing them going out like that.
It is confirmed, that priest was a bastard till the end.
And I actually though that Mai child would die, and she would loose her brother or loved one here... too soon to say it wont happen.

Before seeing the series, this was one of the musics from the OST I always liked and damm, the context is strong here.

I feel bad for the blonde loli girl. She was quite a misguided and tragic character. She should have "taken care" of that father guy when she was told to. The entire time I was wondering why they even kept him around. That way she probably would have been alive and maybe able leave everything behind and lead a normal life with that android.

Ok, the story of Alyssa and Myu is quite touching but the action in this episode was a bit ridiculous. Why aren't the Sears soldiers fighting back? Where are the government forces? Also destroying those warships probably killed at least half of their crews. Are the girls conscious how many they have robbed of their lives?

Yukariko isn't exactly a useful fighter yet, it seems

Some of the music reminded me of Petite Cossette, it's Kajiura Yuki as well.

What an awful episode.

Way to completely Deus EX Machina the biggest threat.

Where are the stakes? Why should I even care if Mai can just magically revive herself and evolve without any foreshadowing.

That ending ruined my trust in this anime. If you pull something like this once, it is very likely to happen again.

Then there is Tate, who might be the most annoying Love Interest ever. He has no chemistry with Mai and is incredible unfair to Shiho. If you are not into her, tell her. You are supposed to be the mature one here. But he is not, as we could see, since it was Shiho who suffered the consequences.

I feel really bad for her, especially since she is likely the last Hime and will just suffer more because of him.

Not to mention that he is suicidal in his attempt to rescue Mai. And unlike a character like say Shirou, where it is deeply tied into his screwed up psyche. He just does it. He is the love interest, because the president, is almost guaranteed to be evil.

Lastly, the fate of Miyu and Alyssa was handled rather poorly. What was the point of having them magically survive the explosion, if they are just shot by a normal human who can suddenly sneak up on Miyu the very next moment.

It didn't feel like their character Arcs were completed either, they just vanished.

To conclude, based on how they handled the mid-season finale, I'm guessing what happens next will sadly be very disappointing.

Well I didn’t dislike the episode as much as the guy above me, but I did find this to actually be one of the weakest episodes in the series. When the Searrs Foundation rolled up with their army last episode, I was thinking things would be intense for the rest of the show or at least most of what’s left, because surely the conflict couldn’t be solved in one episode right? A whole army plus orphans is a tough feat to take on right? Nope lol, the HiMEs banded together and thoroughly finessed the army and not one seemed to have any trouble, didn’t even take a bullet, Mai nearly got hit by one missile and that was it, I gotta say it was quite the disappointing fight, I feel like way more could have been done with a HiME versus military battle.

And then came the moment with Alyssa and Miyu, which was also disappointing because Miyu didn’t even get to fight anyone after she was hyped up by her kill of Akane’s monster earlier in the show, and Alyssa’s space laser ended up not doing much when Mai finally pressed the main character button and took a blast from it and then proceeded to go to space to finish the job, the scene was cool tho, lots of cool looking scenes this episode, and Mai is obviously not dead lol, they even showed her in the next time segment. And when all was said and done, Miyu escaped with Alyssa after surviving a blast of missiles from a submarine, only to get shot by the priest that they kept around for some reason, I mean I can’t really blame the guy because they took over his operation and proceeded to fuck up themselves lol, but he’s most certainly dead this time and Miyu took Alyssa’s body into the lake, and I’m not sure what happened to Miyu after that but I feel like this might’ve been the end of her.

Yeah… I can’t help but feel they wasted some interesting villains like this, I knew they weren’t the true villains of the series but they have been the antagonists behind the scenes up to this point so it really does feel like a waste, and now the Searrs Foundation waits another 300 years huh, maybe next time they can invest in a more competent army lol. But all that being said, it was still a fun episode, just not what I wanted out of this conflict, and I am looking forward to what happens from here because Searrs were the villains up to now, I imagine the real villains will show themselves soon, I’m wondering how the headmaster wheelchair girl had an orphan inside a dummy version of herself personally. Oh and also the ED for this episode was nice, I always liked that song by Alyssa, and the ost when the HiMEs were fighting was cool as well.
