Maou got caught looking at Alas Ramus' photos in 4k LOL

Looks like Maou had to make some alternative plans with the restaurant closed for the time being. It also looks like Chiho promises to improve herself to help others, especially Maou.

Not surprising to see Maou working his heart out for a full bonus lol

I hope it'll be a nice summer job. Since their apartment got wrecked.

Alas Ramus being cute as ever. Maou looking at the photo album with Alas Ramus was hilarious.

Something's simmering beyond the beach. Interesting.

What the worst day for Maou, but, at least, he got a new temporary job and place to stay.

Hmmm.... Choshi and Kimigahama. The Choshi Dentetsu's senbai is a famous product in the city of Choshi. The profit from selling these snacks can help the railway company to survive the decline in ridership crisis. It makes them more well-known and attracts a lot of tourists.

Just when I complain about how this anime is not about a part-timer anymore, this episode get it back on track.

When I heard Chiba I thought it's not that far from Tokyo, but Choshi is a part of Chiba that is furthest away from Tokyo LOL, but at least it's gonna be many beach episodes, can I expect to see Maou in speedo?

Am I the only one who think that Lucifer is a base character of Ishigami in Kaguya?

I did not expect a beach episode turned arc can be scary at the end there, it seems like the next couple of episodes will not be entirely SOL, so there's still more work to do...double enten---

But before that, I laugh at how Maou grins whenever he sees her daughter's pictures, I mean irl some parents do that which can be cute and creepy depending on the matter. Also I guess Chiho's mom can sense that her girl is growing up and that she might be with a boy someday, but hearing that if it was Maou (or not), she'll still say no (ha parents be parents).

We have a beach arc coming up, and it's gotta be a bit different with some Choshi flavor and some sn stuff going around.

This definitely feels like the old vibes were back in this episode, the comedy is going back to being on point and progress on the plot seems to be going steady.

Chiyo's mom is definitely a great supporting character as well.

Beach arc is incoming though so fanservice galore may be coming and I'm all for that but I need more wholesome moments between Maou and his family, that's just the highlight of the show honestly.

Getting through this episode was grating. I'm not sure how they managed but they kept tripping every single step of the way. I've read fanfic better than this!

The plot in the manga itself is fine but here they stress all the wrong notes to where it's like watching a snail race a slug!

The one good part was we got the old Maou back and he started to show his work ethics, couldn't even give us more of that... it was barely a few minutes while the rest of the episode itself should have been (apartment needs maintenance, my niece has a place and you can pick up a few extra bucks while you're at it) This could have been a single scene, they didn't have to stretch it out so much!

PS.

The opening where Maou was looking at baby pics, I can't be the only one reminded by the episode in season one when he went to a Korean BBQ right? There he looked cool, here he looked like a creep... this studio sucks!

The animation is back to it's original quality, only episode 4 faced some issue it seems.

The episode felt surprisingly short. A completely slice of life episode but I enjoyed it a lot. We got the whole cast in this episode so it was great.

Looking forward to seeing what those ships are, hoping that's not some more trouble for Maou and gang.

The devil's troops head to the beachfront! A double whammy having both the McDonald's and the apartment building renovated at the same time. Having to find both a temporary job and temporary lodging on the fly isn't easy. Thankfully for Maou and his generals they have many friends whom look out for them. The landlady having that job opening outside the city in this beach town. Its a nice opportunity that will gladly be taken. Everyone tagging along is great so we don't lose any time with them even as the setting changes. Chiho conversation with her mom was some of the best moments in the episode. Chiho mom is very understanding and supportive which you love to see. This season airing in summer makes it even better to see the characters at the beach. Immediately getting to work helping fix up this old beaten down shop. Alus Ramus will have tons of fun even while the adults have to work.

Maou just creepily laughing while gushing over pictures of Alas in the dark was hilarious lol.

The poor guy is losing his home and his job to remodeling. The shock was too much for Alciel and Lucifer haha. Glad the landlady got them hooked up in Choshi!

Lucifer’s lazy ass is something I really relate to on a deep spiritual level haha. That room they got in Choshi wasn’t too bad. I wouldn’t mind being a shut-in there either.

Alas Ramus in her first beach trip was so adorable! She looked so cute snacking on her rice cracker haha. Also damn dude, Suzune’s sand castle was insane!

But man this mysterious fog is bad news. Looks like trouble’s arriving to Choshi.

LMAO Maou being all obsessive over pictures of his own daughter Alas Ramus, captured in 4K...and then MgRonald's closing down. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!?

Whew, good thing MgRonald's is only down for a renovation, so Maou's out of a job for now. To make things worse, their apartment is also doing a renovation, so Maou lost both a job and a home...temporarily. But a videotape from the landlady that to watch it, takes the trip down to Chiho's place, and instead brings Maou, Ashiya and Urushihara to a beach shack for work that's a request from Shiba. Even Chiho's mom is aware that her own daughter has a crush on Maou...which *LN readers' thoughts intenstifies* yeah...

Leaving Sasazuka to Choshi, and also Sariel acting like his own hilariously stupid self that reveals what Gabriel has known up to this point, I'd leave no doubt that Chiho has gotten stronger overtime...and also the relationship phase where the answer is still unclear (which if you read the LN, no marks for getting the answer), but still, she decides to join along like a trip outside home to keep Alas Ramus safe as priority, it's an innocent thought, but the start of a marking.

The manager Amane Ohguro bringing the crew right to the workplace and their living cottage, which the living conditions are certainly better...though the shack's in a state of trepidation and deterioration for the beach season's opening the day after. Certainly, it's great seeing Maou translating his team leader role just like his MgRonald's work into the beach job, and within the same day, turned the place into a habitual place of work, ready to invite customers.

Both the fire and fog are omens of bad luck in this one...and this beach work ain't something ordinary, that's for sure.

Weirdly enough, they're REALLY pushing Chiho to be closer to Maou as possible. Not sure how to feel about that...

Chiho's mom is so understanding of her. Good for them as we have a somewhat chill episode, which imo could be as good as it is due to lack of action scenes.

Lol it was creepy seeing Maou with the album in the dark but once we can see what it was it was actually cute. Man he sure missed a lot of things when he was down when Alas Ramus vanished. Have to say the Egyptian outfit really suits the landlady to the t. At least they managed to kill two birds with one stone with the beach house job though. Chi chan sure has gotten stronger mentally. It takes a lot of courage to state her intentions that bluntly. Still her reasoning for the trip showed how much thought she put into it. Damm the beach house sure needs some work in order to be ready to open for summer. The sudden fog bank sure was ominous. Curious to see how the beach house would work given the stuff that they still need to do to get it ready.

Disaster one after another in this episode, first MgRonalds closes due to remodeling, and then the gang is forced to move out of their apartment too. But at least they got a good gig at a beachside restaurant, and even though it was meant for the dudes everyone ended up getting involved with the cleanup.

Once all that was done we got a nice little montage of the gang playing with fireworks, paired with some Alus Ramus cuteness once again lol. And now we have a case of ghosts? Spooky month came early, I really hope this is a ship of fools if you know what I mean lol.

Lots and lots of setup, I really am missing the humor. But, at this point, I'm sort of giving up on this being a comedy series anymore. Hopefully, if nothing else, the series will pick up the pace a bit here in the back-half. At least something ominous is approaching.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'll be dropping Devil is a part timer S2 here. The first season was at least a solid 7.5+ out of 10. This however, for me just ain't it fam. It feels like a lot of the life that made S1 so fun has now been lost, and I don't just mean the art style and animation changes. Our characters feel like cardboard cut outs compared to what they were before; maybe the animation does have a hand in that, but the overall premise doesn't seem to be helping either. It's just... what the heck is everyone even doing right now?

After 9 years, it sucks to say that S2 is not fun, but a waste of time.

I hope the rest of you continue to enjoy it though, or at least find enough enjoyment to make it worth your while.

The landlady becoming Cleopatra while on vacation was very interesting. XD

Either way, Maou had the double wammy of having to leave his apartment and his MgRonalds job temporarily due to repairs and remodelling respectively. Thankfully, the niece of his landlady offered him a place to stay for a few weeks as along as he works at her beach cafe, so everyone comes along for the trip, including Chiho, who got permission from her mother, which helps since she has a positive opinion over Maou now. =)

The retro railway that they took was a nice highlight of their trip and while the beach hut itself was rather run down, Maou's skills at MgRonalds came into effect as he got Ashiya, Urushihara and the other to help out to make the place far more hospitable.

Overall, while the animation still has issues and one of Chihio's lines didn't had enough mouth movement for one of her sentences which looked tacky, the episode was definitely better than last week and offered a lot more comedic moments, too. I hope the rest of this season can keep this pace up and not drop the ball again.

Working at the beach shakes things up a bit, so it should be fun. It was cool to see Maou's experience at MgRonalds shine here while cleaning up the beach house.
