Bonde is pretty clever but at the same time, he is very bold to take on a mission dealing with a bank.

He got pretty clever in dealing with those who stood in his way though. The police feels useless in this series. When it comes to cases like this, it feels like only their family can take care of this type of business.

So the bank robbery has just been triggered by William for them to accept Bonde, well it worked fine.
Now there is the real Jack the Ripper, the other one seems to be a fake one who's using his name.
That final scene with William was totally epic, I can't wait for them to destroy that fake Jack the Ripper

Bonde is a man now. Well, he is but isn't. LMAO. She/He wants to be accepted by everyone in the new team or that everyone else can have faith in her/him. She did prove herself by taking down all those hostages and then giving all the credit to the guard there.

We also got to meet Jack The Ripper in this episode. And he's the master of all three Moriarty Brothers. Things are getting pretty hasty in the town.

To be honest I felt the way Iren...sorry Bonde, handled the bank robbers was a bit too much. I would have preferred the solution was carried out with more finesse and less "action"

The Phantom of Whitechapel: Another dark chapter with Jack the Ripper in Whitechapel.

Irene has adjusted herself good as James Bonde with the appearance of a man in a woman's body, with Moran being the only exception. With a mission as the Moriarty Brothers feat. Fred and James to intercept a fixed bank robbery and retrieve a vaulted item (that belongs to Jack the Ripper), a test for Moran to assess Irene's capabilites and see what she does best, and sticking to her mould only fits the bill. That's William James Moriarty for you to set the scene well.

Jack Renfield a.k.a Jack the Ripper has entered the scene, and the fake serial killer adopted his name, time to set apart the phoney one from the real one and clear his name. Interesting that Jack's family the Rockwells took the Moriarty Brothers in after the mansion fire and taught them the art of killing.

How incompetent the Scotish Yard is: protecting jobs instead of people, no wonder the people can act as vigilantes. Time to show them the real devils: the Moriarty Brothers, thanks to Lestrade's insider info.

I never doubt Bonde's acting skill, but martial arts? Now I know why she can handle all bankrobbers within a minute, it seems like they're hired by William as a "training course".
But she's probably already stronger than most men.

I think Bonde did a good job handling that bank robbery. She was caught off guard at first but quickly came up with a plan to deal with it.

Idk what kind of diabolical plan William has up his sleeve for dealing with these fake Jack the Rippers but you already know it's gonna be good.

Why are people using she/her when it was discussed right in this very episode that Bonde identifies as a man? To the point everyone (with exception of Moran at the moment) agrees "you're a man, he/him" and say as such.

Great episode again.

Bonde fitting in, I kinda expected that William may have staged the robbery because they seemed awfully lenient with the Yard officer that was in the bank. It was cool how they handled it.

Interesting, so the Moriarty brothers were taught their combat skills by Jack the Ripper. Very curious how William is going to deal with all the fake Jack the Rippers, it's not gonna be pleasant.

Build up episode focused on Bond. I'm glad Moriarty set up event so that she could get closer to everyone else on the group.

Because SHE is a woman, duh

Anyway good episode, I like how different they are treating Jack the Ripper story from other media
Also, he is voiced by Madara/Askeladd's voice actor! this man needs more roles

ngl it feels like it's been awhile since we had an arc focus solely on the moriarty gang, and it looks like at least for now that seems to be the case

but it is nice to see Irene is gonna be a more reoccurring character rather than one that is only relevant for their specific arc and then yeets off in the distance

They discussed this in the episode. In this very episode they said "James Bonde is a man". When Moran started getting upset about Bonde using the same changing room, Louis and William both said "why so upset, he's a man, this is the men's changing room so he has as much right to be in here too" in not as many words.

Irene Adler is dead. That name literally become a deadname as of last episode. And in place of Irene Adler, James Bonde was born. A new man as part of the team.

Using the change to James Bonde was a clever way to change how it would've gone. In the original stories, Adler really was only around for one story. Just the one.

Photo stolen, King of Bohemia shows up on Holmes' doorstep to have him retrieve the photo, Holmes retrieves the photo, case closed and then "good night, Mr. Holmes" is pretty much the abridged version of how it goes.

As people mentioned above, this isn't the first time that she disguised herself as a man. It's obvious that she does it frequently whenever she needs to in order to survive. And you can't say for granted that we will never see her without the disguise in the future.
You are taking "Yesterday I was a woman but today I'm just feeling like a man for some reason" way too seriously.

Anyway this is my last response to the topic as I think it does not deserve any more, and my point is very clear, better discuss the actual story in the episode.

Thing is, I have been discussing something actually in the episode.

Yes, there was disguises then. But, as of becoming James Bonde, he outright says that he identifies as a man. It's not just a disguise.

Please read the manga. Not only for extra stories that likely will never be animated and help tie up some loose ends, but also for further confirmation that James Bonde is here to stay.

On to Jack the Ripper. I’m sure Moriaty and Sherlock will end up crossing paths as they attempt to solve the case. I didn’t expect Irene, now James Bond (still ridiculous), to have such a prominent role as one of Moriaty’s lackies.

The typical bathroom debate is looking different these days... The kabedon too...

Anyways, the whole bank bit, though a tad boring and too over the top, at least served the purpose of making Moran trust James Bonde - I still giggle at that name - more, then it made Moran respecc Bonde. Still, it's great that the focus is back, even if for a while, on the Moriarty team, I honestly prefer their POVs a lot over Sherlock's.

Bonde is already fully accepted as a member of the team and even wants to share a changing room with the guys lol. Great quick thinking from Bonde in the safe deposit box room too. Already making a valuable addition to the team.

Then the issue of the fake Jack the rippers vs the real one who trained the Moriarty brothers . This arc is set up to be very interesting. So far I’m liking it better than s1

Bonde showed in various ways that he has no trouble at all to adapt.

And William as always one step ahead. The fact that the real Jack was their sensei came as a surprise, tho.

Btw

If I want to pick up the manga, should I do it from the beginning. Were chapters or scenes skipped? Or just rearranged?

Another great Moriarty episode.
I like how literally major reference in British crime from the 19th-20th century is present in this anime.

Bonde is kicking ass, also getting all the ladies, goddamn.

I feel like Lestrade will get Sherlock involved and Moriarty and Sherlock will cross paths again in this story.
Which I mean not exactly unexpected.

I wonder if they'll use Bonde to dress up as a female to act as bait for Jack the Ripper.

Everyone keeps arguing over whether Irene/Bond is a woman or a man while I'm sitting here like... have y'all considered that maybe they're non-binary? I don't like the idea of calling the character a trans man when Irene never expressed any issue towards her identity as a cis woman, which she made full use of when it would benefit her, not to mention that a trans man isn't born overnight. That being said, Irene Adler is dead, so we SHOULD be referring to Bond as he/him, since he seems to have assumed this identity permanently.

Also, in this very episode Bond says "If I can do as I'd like to, then that's just what I'll do. I never was one... to fit into any one mould," which could be applied to his identity - he never cared about gender, he just chose whatever would serve him better depending on the situation. Irene/Bond said non-binary rights!

But of course, this is just my own interpretation.

Edit: I forgot to mention, but I also dislike the argument that "Bond is a trans man because he could have assumed another woman's identity, but he still chose to be a man". Guys, this is 19th century Britain. There's only so much women can do in a society where sexism was a lot more rampant than it is today. For their purposes, being a man makes Bond life a lot easier. That could've been why Irene often disguised herself as man, too.

Agreed I don't understand why people keep using she when Bond clearly said he wants to be referred/treated as a man even in private with the people who are aware he used to be women. What I've seen from the manga readers he going to keep his Bond Identity and probably won't go back to Irene but it's best we just ignore these ignorant people because their is no convincing them otherwise.

LOL I had already forgotten that Sherlock wasn't the protagonist here.

Irene makes a really handsome guy. Too bad she's a woman. I want to head canon her as a trans man, and keep being attracted to her.

Now they also have Jack the Ripper? haha Plus, he's Moriarty's teacher and talks like a mentor from a super-power shounen anime!

When the thieves were stripped, it seemed like they were wearing boxer shorts, which shouldn't have been invented yet.

This is the right take. I don't think any of these modern day identities are applicable to the time period. Irene being the amazing actor she is, is simply playing the part to the best of her abilities. She doesn't want her being a woman to have an affect on her relationship with the others. She wants to be seen as an equal. I really hope this kind of discussion will only be happening this week, it's irritating seeing this kind of arguing in episode discussions.

On another note, when she took the name "Bond" last week I laughed out loud, but this week I can't help but cringe every time I hear the name.

I wish we could have seen some of the training they did with the real Jack the Ripper, but I'm really excited to see how they deal with the fake Jack the Ripper.

So, after the James Bonde, its Jack the Ripper, eh? Its not just that, the old man also served as their master of combat. Thats explain how Louis got all of the confident after having such a rough childhood, thus same with William and Albert too. Okay, then! The whole James Bonde bonding time with the William front liner team also fine to let everything ready to the next step. What a straight way to stabillize the new character of James Bonde. Still, the whole situations with the shadow of the whitechapel thing really find no clue on my mind. Full of shadows. Whats the exact shit of deal goin on there? Ofc William will be more brilliant to scoped things out faster than the thunder. So, lets see his next plan after that!

Great episode! It's been a while since we had an arc focused on the Moriarty's but this time they have a new member, James Bonde. It's really cool to see Bonde adapting to how the Moriarty's do things. That was a solid ass plan, letting that noob cop take the glory. They didn't flat out confirm it, but that was definitely just Moriarty trying to test them or specifically Bonde.

Jack the Ripper huh, this is a pretty interesting take on Jack the Ripper. Him being the one to teach everything the Moriarty's need to know about fighting. And then having the serial killers just be imposters. Let's see Moriarty's big brain go to work once again. Looking forward to the next episode.

Also, weirdly wholesome how Moriarty just straight naps after exerting his brain lmao.

These are some interesting takes. I'm personally more of a believer of the last one, the "disguised as man to be a better asset" but I could see it working out as a "Irene was non-binary but Victorian England didn't really have that as a thing yet" kind of deal.
