Personally, I think it would end in a bittersweet note just like most Sunrise shows do. MC and folk wins but MC and Hina are probably going to separate permanently at the end--something like MC dies, Hina goes to the past to protect him and the cycle begins again.

He decides to stay in the future with Hina because he started to love her, or viceversa so she decides to stay in the past with Aoba.

I hope so as well, I really can't stand bittersweet endings, but Sunrise just keeps piling them.

Just an insame theory of mine :

They reveal Bizon is Aoba just 4 years older. His hair turned grey and he became mentally unstable because of an unknown trauma. It ends with Bizon-Aoba dying trying to kill his younger self.

I kind of want the first episode to have already been the ending (not sure about the grammar in that sentence). Time travel, right? In the future, Aoba and Hina get together, but at the very very end of the series, Hina leaves to go back into the past and save him. If this has a sad ending, Hina and Aoba never see each other again because Hina died at the end of the first episode.. if it's a happy (or bittersweet, depending on how far into the future Hina and Dio are from) ending, then after Hina traveled back into the past she took the slow path to see him again.

Lame, stereotypical end: Hina goes back to right after the moment she goes back in time, reunites with Aoba.

Tragic, but memorable end: Aoba sacrifices himself to jumpstart the time loop in the future, Hina goes back in time to complete the time loop, replay the last parts of the first episode from Hina's perspective.

Stein's Gate End: Aoba realizes Hina will die if she goes back, but can't stop her. Spends the rest of the series mastering the time loop to save Hina and succeeds.

EVA End: His method to save Hina unfortunately destroys the space time continuum by disrupting the loop, everyone turns to tang but he and Hina survive.

Madoka End: Aoba removes himself from existence, thus stopping the time loop and changes the events so that war is still stopped. Hina surives in the new world with her memories of Aoba intact.

This looks like the real thing to me and most logical one which has connection with episode 1.

Paradox End: Aoba prevents whatever reason Hina has for going back in time, and causes a paradox. Thus, events happen as they would normally happen if no Time Travel occurred, and everyone lives their 'true' lives as fate intended.

I personally would like to see Hina bounce right back to the moment where she goes back in time so Hina, Aoba, and presumably Dio would be able to unite. But I agree that a tragic end, if executed well, could potentially produce more impact and make a better ending. Heck, it even allows Sunrise to ship Aoba x Dio as a couple just like what they were basically doing with Valvrave, as if Buddy Complex wasn't full of yaoi appeals already...

Whatever the case, those time-travelling people (the enemy) did mention that Aoba was from the future. So it must have been a time loop.

minescope said:

I really hope this is possible, there's only one way to end this.

The happily-ever-after ending: Watase Aoba in the future will travel in a return journey (together with Hina) and discovers that Hina travelled into a different timing (about 1 year before him), and survived the encounter with the enemy pilot that was initially after his life.

This will be a great ending since Hina (being a traitor) won't have a good time in the future anyway.

The war in the future would still go on but will be manageable by the good side (Dio and others being the dominant group).

The happily-ever-after ending #2: Time-travelling Hina will travel back to the future to be with Aoba after fulfilling the agreement to start the time-loop and end it.

I honestly think this anime is going to be pretty shitty and as for the ending... hmm.. i'd say somewhere along the lines of "hero wins the war and gets the girl" or some other cliche story ending.

If the anime turns out to be better than what i'm guessing then that's great!

I don't think Sunrise can adequately grasp time travel aspects let alone a mecha with a conceivable plot, but we'll see what happens.

I'm hoping that Aoba stops Zogilla from conquering half the world in the first place. He was there when the media first released news about the new power source, Nectoribium.

But I wonder how he'd meet Hina and Dio that way? LOL :3 Maybe the brown-haired guy behind Dio in the OP is Aoba's future self or something. I.. don't really mind sacrificing the AobaxHina couple right now, hehehehe.... I don't like them enough yet!

I believe the ending will be as the beggining, Aoba tells Hina to go in the past to save him, the end.

And then the second season is announced, in which this cycle is stopped. ;D

Hmm could Aoba be born from the future but got sent to the past. With no memories of him being experimented on the Coupling System. It is possible the incident happened early on his childhood.

Hina could be his mother. This reminds me of JRPG I played a long tome ago. The MC meets his mother ( Teens to Adult) who helps him on his journey + others. At the end of the game, she is sent way back in the past and meets MC father. Falls in love and MC is born many years later.

Also if you played the Jak and Daxter series.

I guess I'll put my two cents in. Hina realizes that into order for Aoba to be in the future, she needs to go back in time. So she goes into the time vortex and to travel back in time where she meets Aoba and after the events of Ep. 1 she comes back to the time line after she supposedly went into the time vortex. But since she doesn't have her mecha, Aoba jumps out of his mecha in an attempt to save her only for both of them to be sucked into the time vortex and send back to moments after they left in Ep.1 with no way to go back to the future. THE END

My happy ending theories are probably going to be thrown out of the window since they showed that a war broke out later during the time Watase Aoba went missing. Guess this would have a conventional time-loop ending after all.

Also, Hina said something about the watchmaker's time vortex. I wonder if she made it into a different time...Hina might not have died while travelling in the time vortext on the way back though, there were only a few damages to her mecha.

i think some how Aoba unites the people in the war. silver hair ( don't remember his name ) being a soldier and practically raised to fight can't accept this fact and goes back in time to kill Aoba. Hina knowing how silver hair feels also goes back in time but appears many years(?) earlier the silver hair. thus she finds aoba and watches over him utnil silver hair appears.

Buddy Complex is a lot lighter than most Sunrise series. The threat of deaths is there but no one has died so far. I think this will end well. (inb4 Sunrise says no)

It's Valvrave the liberator all over again!!

Let's hope the news is true since there's so many loose ends to tie. I mean I've been actually started to care this show so much obviously after last year Valvrave The Liberator when that show really caught my attention until I've been overreact with so many rages in every episodes with too much CAPSLOCKING everywhere because it really hurts me so much it really reached me to climax for god's sake!!

I mean Is it wrong IF I doing this all the time? talked about havin a borderline obsession. I was like every post on this forum so I don't care IF I wanna do so as long as 'BAD' things gonna happen in most of shows (like Gundam series which was like Fuck-em-all tomino style).
