| Looking at the last two episodes, I disagree. I couldn't have predicted the crazy stuff that was happening and neither could you^^ What do you expect from an Anime? To Cover the whole spectrum of entertainment, in 12 Episodes? There are things it's good at. There are things it focuses on. And that's fine :) You didn't feel sad about the sex-worker story. Well. That's too bad. Doesn't mean it wasn't pretty unique, tho. There's a difference between you beeing underwhelmed and the story beeing generic, you know^^ |

To add, I feel like the bizarre nature of the premise for the anime would make it the opposite of what you’re saying. If you think this is generic, I shudder to think of what you think about the isekai genre. |

| Stories in general feel repetitive when you've seen and read enough. It's never always about the story. The sex worker mother tragedy isn't something new, but the camera work, soundtrack and overall direction of the backstory was immaculate. Appreciating those elements isn't everyone's cup of tea, but that's the answer to your issue. The film medium in general has a history of over a hundred years. No story is ever fully original in our time. Yet, filmmakers find ways to present the product in unique ways that moves the audience. That's what the episode did for me, personally. |
| Dandadan is anything but predictable calling it predictable is crazy to say, sure the characters back stories are going to be predictable because everything has been done to show characters in a tragic way and emotional way in tv shows and movies. But the story is anything but predictable |

Apart from the attempted rape in the first episode, the rest follows typical leads. Mc has superpowers, they fight monsters, someone has a sad backstory, there are sexual jokes, etc. You could even guess this yokai's past when she started freaking out about a kid and then we saw the money on the table. Such motifs almost always end the same way. The execution was good, but it was rather predictable. |

In that sence It's kinda unpredictable. Dandadan doesn't follow your regular shounen formula where the MC want to defend the ultimate bad guy or become the strongest just like Chainsaw man. |

| Predictable? Generic? Well it does have a formula that it follows but even anime like One piece does too that doesn't mean it's bad. And low on confident male character is not that often these days if you look at famous shonen anime rn. Did you expect some True Detective typa shit from a shonen anime which hasn't even aired completely? So honestly do us all a favor drop this anime rn. |

| Funny enough i didn't feel sad whenever demons from kimetsu gets a flashback. Yet, when it comes to dandadan i felt sad. I can't quite explain it. But the spirits in dandadan comes from a place of lingering regret. And it captures the feeling of powerlessness quite well in this episode. Clinging onto something precious and not letting go of it. A recurring theme in dandadan that i quite liked. Idk man if you feel it's generic or predictable there are only two explanations : 1) You binged too much anime at once 2) You set your expectations on the wrong thing. Now if you liked the fight scene i think you should stay on this anime. Because i doubt it will ever run short of it. |
