hello!
I'm an undergrad student who spends most his time procrastinating and watching japanese cartoons. Since I was little, I've had this tendency to get in and out of hobbies and obsessions really quickly. But I found this one rather hard to get out of, so here I am.
I love coffee, chocolates, snow, mountains and anything to do with winters. I am one of those despicable straight-A guys who somehow get good marks with last minute cramming, so I don't really study a lot.
Getting back on track, I believe in watching stuff with an open mind. I like to form my own opinions and stick by them, so I don't pay attention to people hyping up or shitting on shows. For context,
PREFERENCES:
•I tend to watch a lot based on Music, including OSTs, BGMs and especially OP/EDs. Give me good music and I'm sold. I get immersed in a world and its lore easily when the music connects me to it. For me, music can change the entire way I look at a show. It may have a retarded story and abysmal characters, but I'd still love it if the music touches the right spots.
•I'm a Fantasy/Sci-Fi buff. Mythologies, Legends, Time Travel, String Theory, Timelines, Butterfly Effect, I'm all about that. I also like shows that have overarching plots or mysteries that fit into place perfectly, preferably fantasies. Not a big fan of Military and Gore, but I'll still give them a go if I've heard good things.
•Characters>Plot. The story might have some brilliant plot twists, foreshadowing or world building, but if the people treading those paths aren't interesting, it wouldn't matter all that much to me.
•Highschool anime fall into a weird category for me. I really have fun watching all of them, but after some retrospection, I don't have much to say once they're over. Ofcourse there's occasional exceptions like Hyouka, Koe no Katachi and the QQs.
•Currently falling deep into the rabbit hole called Visual Novels. I've played a few so far - the nightmare called Doki Doki Literature Club, a bunch of eroge, along with the original for two shows I really liked, Fate/stay night and Steins;Gate + their sequels. Also played Tsukihime (loved Nasu's work).
Scores:
I'm aware that the average score is '7' here for whatever reason, but I usually use 5 as the halfway mark. If you think my mean score is low, that's why. Here's how you could generalize my feelings about certain shows.
10- Gave me everything I wanted and more. Nothing's perfect, but they come close.
7,8,9 - Liked these quite a bit, albeit on different scales. Anything I scored 7 or above would be a near certain recommendation from me. Varies from show to show due to minor details and personal bias.
6 - There were things I disliked, but I vividly recall these shows because something made them stand out. Above Average.
5- The dullest score I can award. This is something I just didn't care about. Not even enough to nitpick. These shows come and go, and I just reset my head everytime. Neither good nor bad.
4- Below Average. Ironically, I remember these shows better than the ones I scored 5. Awful in a lot of aspects, but had really good concepts. I couldn't just 'meh' over the things I disliked, and that's why it's here.
1,2,3- Bad, to various degrees. From pure time-wasters to piping hot poo straight outta devil's anus. Varies from show to show due to minor details and personal bias.
Still here? Feel free to add me; I usually accept all requests. I'm always up for a conversation if you have a different opinion. Good Day!

And about the two soundtracks I was talking about, here you go:
You should watch Haikyuu when you get the time, and I'm sure you will love it for its fantastic music and plot!!
Coming to Tokyo Ghoul, I found its OP1 "Unravel" catchy AF and the soundtrack when Kimi offers Nishiki her flesh despite knowing that he is a ghoul, and him trusting her despite his hatred of humans. That shit, along with the music, really moved in a way never before!! Another notable one was the soundtrack "Glassy Sky" at the end of S2 when the bar had to be shut down, and ev1 was fighting for their lives. I don't quite remember the music from the wedding scene; maybe it was good too :)
But she's my third fav one cuz the second spot goes to Yuki Hayashi. You may know him already if you've watched either MHA or Haikyuu, all his soundtracks in both of these series are just pure bliss and complement the narrative of a particular scene perfectly!! In fact, I have been playing "You Say Run" OST from MHA everyday on loop from past one year since I watched its first season!! The same goes for Haikyuu as well, all its tracks are just so energetic and motivational that it makes me feel as if I'm playing volleyball along with the Karasuno players!!
Another one of my fav composer is Yukata Yumada, and his tracks in Tokyo Ghoul are still one of my favs till this date!! Even though the adaptation was a bit rushed, still the awesome music elevated the experience for me. Wbu? Have you watched Tokyo Ghoul or any other anime with Yukata at its helm?
While we're still on the topic of music, who's your favorite anime composer upto now? Mine is Hiroyuki Sawano, and his godly tracks in AOT were the reason I got hooked on to anime in the first place. Have you seen other shows like Owari no Seraph, Kabaneri for which he has also composed?
