I don't know the details, but it appears that officials contributed a significant amount of money to their project in exchange for significant advertising. At least the title is popular, so it made some sense, I guess. Well, if you weren’t distracted by the fact that characters went to the Okinawa or somewhere for 5-10 episodes, then this could work :D

Have you ever heard of the anime Jashin-chan Dropkick? Several seasons of this show were paid for through crowdfunding. As a result, they had to release many episodes promoting various regional tourism as a response to the funding of anime by the tourism departments of several prefectures.

Well, usually when there is no talk of a full adaptation, the anime is released either when the manga has gained enough popularity and material, or when the manga is already ending and the producers need an additional bust for the finale. The latter happens more often, especially the work is not a huge hit.

Thanks for the compliment :). Well, actually a lot depends on the specific show. For example, Mahouka was a fairly popular anime, but there was more than 5 years between the first and other seasons, movies and spin-off series. Although it is one of the best selling LNs for their publisher.

I hope this won't be like Bloom into you, where the studio and manga writer said they only needed one more season to complete the adaptation, but there's been no news for 4 years. Well, usually the decision for a sequel is made depending on whether the manga needs new advertising after the first season. From the producers' point of view, of course. There have been cases where even extremely popular works with very popular anime have been waiting for sequels for years. But if the anime was extremely popular and the author themself is motivated, especially now, then why not? For example, author of ReZero has always pushed for a sequel to the anime because he has always been vocal about wanting to adapt the entire LN. The studio's success with other shows and a big budget could certainly help this.

So, at the moment only almost two thirds or a little more than half have been adapted?

There are a good few that I am planning to watch, but I decided to spend this season mostly catching up on older shows. I'm probably going to watch every show in the top 5 most popular anime this seasons, since 4 of them are sequels to stuff I already love, and one of them is zom 100 which looks super interesting.

I'm also going to be for sure watching link click season 2. I will probably finish rewatching it in English and watch s2 that way too. I didn't dislike the Chinese, but from the 2 episodes that I watched in English, I do actually prefer it.

as far as new things go, there is the mentioned Zom 100, but I think, My Happy Marriage, Reign of the Seven Spellblades, Undead Murder Farce, The Gene of AI, and Helck look pretty interesting too.

I also kind of want to binge bungo stray dogs to watch the new season, but I'm still not sure about that one.


the rurouni kenshin remake and Synduality: Noir are also maybes. I will decide on watching them or not once they finish.

it fell off so hard, the first 2 episodes really hooked me so I suggested it to a lot of people. but then it just dragged on and on, and the major reveal.... was so bad.

I haven't even been able to bring myself up to watch the last episode. I am super sorry, I have to stop suggesting shows that aren't finished lol

I think I had a chance of getting into top 100, if insomniac after school ended about a day earlier since shows normally get a score boost after they end.

summer is weird. I think I have a decent team, but there weren't any "hidden gem" picks that I was confident in. I did pick Undead Girl Murder Farce as a potential dark horse, but I'm not that confident about it. we'll have to see how things go I guess.
