| Not bad for Will. He had the determination to challenge a powerful opponent like Stagnate with his life on the line. A hell of an episode when you consider what was at stake when Stagnate aims at more than just his life. Will's training sure paid off in the long run if you think about it. |

| So Will's adventure beings now, prologue is over I guess? This anime turned out pretty solid so far. Consdering that Will could pretty much stand up to a god... isn't he pretty broken by now? He also isn't stupid or naive. I wonder what kind of diffculties could he face now. |
It's the Ani-one version that has major issues. Would suggest watching the much better Crunchyroll version. ----------------- Definitely loving this episode. Would say it's really good compared to the previous ones, especially with how things wrapped up here. |

| The prologue is officially over now. The episode itself felt a bit stagnant in the first half but I liked it by the end with the farewell for Mary and Blood, as well as the post-credits scene of them, and Will taking on all three of their names (including Gus) to now be known as William G. Maryblood. Given how much they meant to him as a whole with raising him to who he is now, you can tell he's grateful and wants to make them proud while on his own. Now that the prologue stuff is over, the next episode would be the REAL test whether or not the content in this series and the purpose is something worth being excited for in the long run with its new characters and developments, or would be the dropoff point where the series loses its charm and value with the departure of its best stuff and turning into something painfully generic as a whole (beyond just Will's nice, bland attitude). Hopefully it follows the former but with shows like these, you just can never know until those episodes actually air. |
| Stagnate's true goal of elimiinating the 3 former heroes while leading Will astray, it's the perfect decoy plan of deception. It's only because of Mary worshipping the Earth-Mother Mater Gracefeel that they're able to get back on their feet to retaliate against Stagnate, she's their salvation after all. But even a situation such as this, both Mary and Blood paid with their lives for losing that attachment with Stagnate, and Will is like Fushi (if I can infer THAT well correctly) in wallowing the loss of loved ones. At least both Mary and Blood acted like parents sending their own kid off before their demise, spending the night drinking away Gus's precious alcohol keepsake as a family. To reaffirm the family feeling, Will inheriting all 3 names as William G. Maryblood (as funny as that is to ridicule Old Man Augustus) is the perfect name for remembrance. The post-creedits of Mary and Blood's flashback b efore they turned into undead, and the couple feeling does feel real between them. William: the Helmet of Will (or the manga translates best as "child of determination"). The best episode so far, and Will's prologue is officially over, as is Volume 3 of the manga. Looking forward to his grown-up adventures. Recently the author has been making his/her rounds across Twitter replying to everyone who watched this show, and it's a treat for such actions. |

| While the last part of this episode was quite good, I feel the prologue stage of this story wasn't good enough, the little fight scenes we have seen don't leave me with alot of confidence about the animation either. Episode 6 will be important though even if this doesn't live to the hype I'll give it a few more episodes but the first 5 did drag on a bit for me, If I was binging it I probably would of quit by now. |

| RIP Mary and Blood, that was quite the emotional scene. The prologue is officially over, so now we finally get to explore more of this world and follow Will's adventure. I liked the post-ED scene, it was nice to see that Mary and Blood were able to accomplish that dream of theirs. |

| This episode hit really different. Was very hard to watch will say goodbye to blood and Mary. He’s now on a journey by himself for the first time ever. Loved the transition to the ED and credits as he headed off into the sun. Today being the 9th anniversary of my dad dying of cancer made this episode resonate with me a lot more than normal. |

| Well, it seems like this is it for the Death god asking Will to be on his side. As Will got the protection from the goddess, he managed to protect his family but it wasn't too long when Blood and Mary decided to go back to the reincarnation cycle. That was sad seeing Will cry like that. He's their child after all. And, finally, Willaim G MaryBlood is on the way to his journey to the unknown places leaving grandpa Gus behind who'll live for another ten years. Hope to see him again in this show. And, excited to see where Will's adventure will take him. |

| It's weird because the three undead lives were in danger and after that battle Will had, and weirdly everything is back to normal like nothing happend. Before Mary and Blood had to pass away. And it's weird showing lack of lip syncing to the voice acting too. |

| It's just annoying that this is the 2nd time we've seen Will departing on his journey. The past 2 episodes I've been waiting to finally see the world outside, so each time it was a big downer to basically see all the same notes played over again. Part of me thinks the next episode will see mary, blood, and gus saying goodbye to Will for the 4th time... |
| Sleeper hit of the season. Pacing is fantastic and the story is incredibly well crafted. Looking forward to more. |

| Looks like Will finally left the nest- or William G. Maryblood. When Gus said his bit about combining the parents' names, I thought it would have been funny if they switched it around so he was Will BloodyMary. |
| This is where the brilliant part of the manga ended. In hindsight, I think this story would be perfect if it ended here. The series seems to have some really good ideas in it but execution is getting worse and worse as it goes after first arc. Anime is pretty bland so far, so I highly doubt it can make for source's shortcomings in any way. Then again, it's not like there's anything decent to watch other than 86 this season, so might as well stick to it if you have time. |

| That episode was abysmal, the fight with the obvious ending was finished after 1-2 minutes, after that it was chewing gum time. The whole episode could have fit into 5 minutes. We are 5 episodes in and while I value world building, we seriously have talked enough about the world it is so late to actually show us the world the story is operating in. |

| This was a wonderful episode to end the prologue of William's story. A death battle against the God of Undead ended up in Will's favour. With the help of Mary, Blood and Gus; he managed to defeat him. Will expected a happy ending but it turned out to be the last day for his parents. On the other hand, Gus has another 10 years to live thanks to a deal he made with the God. He even got Gus' treasure which was unexpected for sure. Seems like Gus does like and cares a lot about Will. And of course, you can't live without a last name. William G. Maryblood which is the perfect name for him. His adventure has finally begun and we will probably meet a ton of new characters and the story will progress even further. |

| The fight with Stagnate really unexpected to me. I really thought he would fail. But Will got help from Mater, able to land a final blow on the last moment, thanks to the distraction from Blood and then a shut-up magic from Gus. Guess a god can be challenge and kill, for sometimes. Blood and Mary soul be saved from an undead god, Stagnate. But looks like the attachments of them still lost so the expected matters for them was still happening. Their death. But its still a peaceful one under the guidance of Gracefeel's torch. He also received a nice little last lesson from them all, creating the last farewell scene felt more heavy. So, keep your head's up, William G. Maryblood (damn, this is actually a cool name, combining all their name, especially Gus with just G. Never expect such a simplicity used here). Its just like the same wandering sage was said to you. Your journey just about to start! |

| DANG. that was a really good ending to this opening arc. william g. maryblood starts his journey now! ending song was reallyyy nice, the "woah woah" felt like something from more and more by twice seeing mary and blood in their human form was So so odd but they were cute. SO CUTE WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT PROPOSAL it was So cute. and while they didnt make it back alive from that battle, they did get everything they wanted after it. a nice quiet house up on the hill with a good breeze and view, a farm near it, and a son that they named will. ahh that was such a nice ending to the story im so so gonna miss them ;__; (also did anyone else find the ..Groaning? or voice acting for stagnate while his dying kinda .. Off? im not saying it was Bad but . it wasn't really that good too. ruined the mood for me when will defeated him lol) |
| What a great episode. It was really emotional. I think this anime has build up Will's relationship with the 3 undeads pretty well. Now, Will's journey finally begin after half a cour.. I wonder how many episodes this anime will get? |

| An emotionally flat departure following an unsatisfying triumph over God. Needless to say, I was quite underwhelmed after seeing this episode. And I have a hard time believing that anything after the prologue will be entertaining in the slightest, what with Will already starting off his adventure with the equivalent of an end-game weapon; effectively turning the difficulty mode down to 'Easy'. |
| I thought this wasn't Haruhi Suzumiya. Why is basically the same cycle repeating itself for the past three episodes? Blood and Mary saying "We're gonna have to leave/die", then Will crying and saying he wants to do this and that with them, but then the same fucking thing happens the next episode. I thought this show had potential but the excessive amount of internal monologue and repetitive dialogues in the first 5 episodes are enough to kill it before it even starts reaching that potential, if it ever does. |
