So in the end Fersen runs away. Again. Probably the best choice though. I'm really sure well see him again in the future though.

But with Fersen gone for now I guess another arc of royal intrigues will start now. Jeanne was someone who we didn't see for a while. Also Polignac, we never saw what became of her after the suicide of her Daughter. Generally this shows often tends to ignore characters after a big revelation.

Anyway I'm looking forward to what will happen next, with Fersen gone again.
I probably regret this post by now.

That was such an emotional episode. Ah, poor everyone...

I love how subtly Oscar's feelings and heartbreak were portrayed.

I agree. I also think they did a good job handling André's concern for Oscar in the episode.

Marie looked a lot less childish in this episode and a lot more mature - solely because of the drawing style, but hopefully she wizens up a bit after this heartbreak and becomes a better ruler. Honestly, I didn't expect Fersen to run away as he did, but I'm glad he's gone so that other stuff can happen, heh.

This was such a well directed episode. They clearly put a great deal more time and effort into the visuals and into the music implementation for this episode (perhaps because this was a conclusion episode of sorts?). But considering how I always hear people say that the first half of this show is much weaker than the second, I have to conclude that this episode serves as the turning point into the really good material. I think I'm gonna be in for a real treat.

Good bye Fersen. T^T

Please don't die in America although if he does survive he will most likely live out the rest of his days there.

Okay it seems I was totally oblivious to Oscar being in love with Fersen also. Him leaving like this was really the only choice he could make in order to save face for all of them.

Well that is the halfway point, time for the second act.

Marie looks a lot older -- I like it
What happened to Polignac?
Oscar cried -- twice!! I never realized she loved Fersen, I just assumed she was envious of their relationship and wanted to be loved like that
wtf fersen leaves again? What about the whole thing about finding a wife? This is literally a repeat of 4 years ago...

The whole Oscar having feelings for Fersen feels pretty random.

Poor André, why is it always the childhood friend who gets screwed over in these situations >_>

loved this episode, this is what I want. more Oscar and more angst. personally think Oscar is suffering the most, she's hiding her feelings so well and still loves Marie even though she loves Fersen.

loving Oscar more and more, even that's even possible

Oscar being in love with Fersen is pulled out of their ass. What kind of spectacular conversation did they have for Oscar to like him? None! That's right, none so what's going on?

And as usual, Antoniette have no shame in continuing to cheat on her husband behind his back. Can you spend an ounce of that determination into ruling your country right?

Lol, I guess I'm pretty oblivious too Oscar's feelings because I really couldn't tell that she was in love with Fersen until I read this thread.

Anyway, I really liked that they brought up the American Revolution, I was beginning to think they weren't going to mention it at all, but I'm glad they did since it's a major reason for the French Revolution.

I'm kind of glad that Fersen left, I was getting sick of his relationship with Marie Antoinette, and I wish someone on the show would call her out for hypocrisy instead of just gossiping about it.

God, I hope Louis XVI finds out about it at some point in the series.

Outstanding episode.
RoV has all of a sudden produced back to back gem of episodes. Everyone's feelings is portrayed with utmost care, for they're still too fragile given the circumstances.
Props to the slightly mature art style.
Poor Andre. Love that cannot be spelled out. Perfectly describes his feelings towards Oscar

A bard singing maudlin songs - YES!
American Revolution - YES!
Antoinette x Fersen porno on sale - YES!
Only subtle hints at brewing feelings - YES!

I don't know what happened, but this show just dialed everything up and I love it.

Fersen put his life on the line and risked being executed for siding with Oscar following Antoinette's horse riding incident. His actions were not romantically driven (he hadn't realised Oscar was a woman at that stage), but out of respect and his own values. Oscar was deeply moved by this. Not to mention that Fersen is portrayed as fairly attractive, cultured and intelligent, so I don't think it is out of the question for Oscar to develop feelings for him. One of the key themes in Rose of Versailles so far is about unfulfilled love with Oscar's feelings for Fersen being just one example (the other two are between Fersen and Antoinette, and Andre and Oscar).

Antoinette is a foolish, ignorant girl that was hugely ill suited to her position as queen. This was how she was described in history, this is how she is shown in Rose of Versailles. Frustrating to watch, no doubt. No surprise she got guillotined.

Fersen não fez nada mais que o correto. Esse romance ia causar sérios problemas. Ver Oscar dançar pela primeira vez foi realmente interessante assim como vê-lá chorar por Fersen.

Really thought Marie and Fersen already said their goodbyes a few episodes ago. Well at the end Fersen made the right decision to run away. Good to see Oscar's feelings for Fersen here but still wanting to support his and Marie's happiness with only André being the one to notice Oscar's feelings.

Great episode. Fersen made the right decision and saved both their lives.

I was 90% sure that Oscar was in love with Fersen but this episode has now confirmed my suspicions.

Looking back, Antoinette was so cute and sweet when she first arrived in France. Look at her now, a filthy whore.

This is honestly facts. Antoinette hated Du Berry because she was an former prostitute but Antoinette is out here cheating on her husband, having sex out in the woods LOL. I honestly feel the most for Andre. He’s been in love with Oscar since childhood.

this show is so messy ...

Fersen and Marie having an affair ,, that the whole city is aware of

Andre has feelings for Oscar ,, on a level deeper than platonic ;

Oscar catching feelings for Fersen? more than likely , Oscar just wants to experience a taste of "love"

its like a Chaplin saying , "you're chasing somebody who's chasing somebody who's chasing somebody ....."

This episode should have happened before Polignac came into the scene because it felt weird seeing Marie being all about Oscar being the only person she can trust.

Finally they all look like time has passed and good to know Oscar did have feelings for Fersen.

Quite the episode. What a weird place to switch things up right after the previous ep with Polignacs youngest daughter committing suicide. Felt very abrupt transition.
Looking through the comments, I have to agree that art style did seem a lil bit improved. We got to see Paris still in their slump, breaking their backs for meager food and drink. I was quite shocked and found it humorous seeing people capitalizing on the scandalous nature of the Queen and the Swede (Antoinette and Fersen). Also, I was quite shocked with the American Revolution getting referenced but glad to see it. And we have Fersen departing from France to get away from the French people, from all this gossip.
Additionally, I never really felt Oscar had love for Fersen. No doubt she had respect towards him given he too laid his life down to protect Andre in front of the old king. But I never really felt like she loved him romantically.

I'm just going to be honest here... even now I don't understand why Oscar fell in love with Fersen.

I'm so tired of seeing Marie, it just really makes me sick to see her cry. The rumors about her have spread all over, the King has probably heard too. I really feel sorry for him.

I completely hate and despise infidelity, affair, adultery, whatever you want to name it, so I don't have the slightest pity for them.

A well traveled man that's leaving to travel again. Shocked /s

I'm glad that Oscar is going, and I can't feel anything for Marie Antoinette crying. This was supposed to be a tear jerker, but the only one I felt sympathy for was Andre. It sucks to see the love of your life, in love with someone else. Though this episode is about shallow romance, and it was brilliantly juxtaposed against Andre's feelings for Oscar.

This episode is just so stupid. Where were Rosalie and Polignac? They just disapeared and was only a romantic drama with love triangle and things like Andre being jealous of Fersen, about Fersen, he leaves again and I guess probably forever. I liked the american revolution being mentioned but only a mention, would be way better if was the main focus of the episode instead of this stupid overscaled drama and like always the whole country knows about their relationship, everyone except the king who did not even appeared here. Stupid filler episode.
