"My fire is unlike those unfulfilled and incomplete combustions you see everywhere. It may be for a moment, but my fire roars up so bright and hot, it's almost blinding. And then, all that remains is pure white ash. There are no embers left.....just pure white ash."- Yabuki Joe
Kurisu is definitely top-tier. :D
The anime had me thinking about it for weeks after, so I get it. Much like Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
Personally, I thought Steins;gate 0 was not necessary since the original was great by itself. But it was fine for what it was. The Kagari arc was weird. She was sort of a red herring too--I thought she was related to Kurisu, but I don't think she had any real connection to Kurisu, if I recall.
It's good, but I guess after catching up with LNs, it made me realize how much they condensed down. It's still good though. If I could give it a 8.5, I would.
A little slow, but I know what's coming up after catching up with the Light Novels. It seems to mostly be following what's in the LNs, albeit at a faster pace. But I can't really complain since I'm enjoying it for what it is.
"Man I don’t care what anyone says, the Ide is just a dick ain’t it? A malevolent god like entity that likes to manipulate people for entertainment, puts them in certain situations to see what happens"
Hah, my thoughts exactly. When you brought up how Evangelion is inspired by Ideon, because I was told the same thing, in the back of my mind I thought that's not a good thing. The director, Yoshiyuki Tomino, often gets the funny but apt moniker "kill 'em all" Tomino for good reason. The last anime I watched from him where the destruction and chaos was almost to that level was Victory Gundam. Ideon takes the cake though.
Remind me again, Ashura was the little girl (blonde?)? It was that scene where her head and upper body gets blown off. If that was the moment you're referring to, then yes, I was like "holy shit!" lol
For sure, Ideon as a whole was an experience lol. Another friend on here loves Ideon. Personally, I prefer Tomino's Mobile Suit Gundam, since it's more grounded. Ideon was an interesting experiment though that I won't forget either. Especially since it was my 1000th completed entry on my list.
Yeah, they did the restoration work. I'm still getting slight allergies, but it's not horrible allergies like I had in past cases where I want to scratch my eyes out. I'm still deciding if it's worth the trouble to move out or not or just deal with it.
I see. I figured the pfp update was your homage to the man. Maybe I will do the same for a while.
Yeah, Ideon is an interesting anime. Maybe ahead of its time in terms of concepts/themes. I do think the end of the TV series is a bit rushed. The sequel movie kicks it into overdrive. It's a good example of "sh*t rolling down hill" in an interesting and somewhat shocking way. I've been watching anime for a good while before Ideon: Be invoked, and I was still shocked by some stuff that happens lol. I can see why Ideon serves as an inspiration for Evangelion, which would go on to inspire Rahxephon. Personally, I prefer Ideon and Rahxephon over Eva.
It's a last resort, they have a contractor coming in to due restoration work at the moment. I'll see where this goes before I escalate. But I would probably ask them to relocate me to another unit, with movers on their dime, before I escalate with any sort of legal action.
Not to bore you with too much details but a water pipe broke in my building during the Cold Front that hit the east coast. I had water leaking from my bedroom, bathroom, and living room during Christmas Eve. The management left it sitting for couple weeks while I was gone, and it's inducing my allergies. I also got infected with COVID during the holidays, and came back to my place with allergies, when I was recovering from COVID.
Cool, thanks for the information. I really hope we get some more anime adaptations later.
My advice to you for GE999 is to just watch the two movies. The episodic nature makes it hard to stay interested, I get it. I watched all of it one summer during my undergrad years of college, but if you're busy with life, it's harder to keep up with. https://myanimelist.net/anime/1301/Ginga_Tetsudou_999_Movie/stats
I'm not knocking the original TV series, but the movie cuts out all the fluff and gives the bigger picture/plot in a better format. Trust me, just watch the movies. You could probably knock them both out in 1-2 days easy. Then, if you really want to go back to the TV series at a later time, then you can. The movies cut to the chase. The 2nd movie is actually a sequel that has a plot not shown in the TV series, so that's a plus. Queen millennia is much the same. The movie is easier to get into vs. the TV series.
Yeah, you can't go wrong with City Hunter. It's a fun watch all around. Ryo is awesome.

Yes! LOGH is worth the watch. Watch the two movies first and then pick up at episode 3 of the 110 episode OVA and go from there.

I would definitely check out the sequel movie to wrap it up, if you haven't planned so already.

As for Steins;gate 0, I had mixed feelings with that one, but it was pretty good. Not as good as the original series though.

Ideon, eh? You're in for a wild ride. Especially the sequel movie...*phew*
So yeah, fun times haha.
