involves humans interacting with friendly demons

Both have the same vibes, with a princess that has been captured by demons. Though, upon closer inspection they aren't quite like your stereotypical princess, likewise the demons are not demon-like at all. Both are comedic and totally unserious in nature so you can just relax and watch.

Both fantasies set in a world where demons are present. Although the plots differ, their style and fantastical royalty feels very similar. They have vibrant colour palettes where Beelzebub has more of a pastel feel whereas Maoujou is a bit more grungy overall due to the nature of the anime. Although similar in style, Beelzebub is a lot more fluffy whereas Maoujou is a lot more intense in their plots.

The main characters are obviously similar in their quest for sleep/listlessness. They both care mainly just about being cozy and most of the humor comes from their drive to achieve this, and the way that the supporting cast responds to them is what drives the jokes home. Similar humor throughout. If you enjoy one, you will certainly enjoy the other.

Both shows have a similar type of humor, and are ultimately very lighthearted, fun, and show demons and magical characters in a non-traditional setting, playing on and parodying common media tropes. Both anime feature fun characters, centering around a cute girl, and, most importantly, despite being primarily comedies, both shows feature a surprising amount of genuine heart. You really start to grow to love the characters by the end of the shows, and both shows have some really touching moments. If you liked one of these shows, I highly recommend the other!

Both are anime that feature a human and a different species (demon, dragon) coexisting in the same house and becoming each other's family. Be it Princess Suya in the demon castle or Tohru's presence in Kobayashi's residence, both these girls change the way of the household completely, making the ordinary daily life different and way more fun than it was before. Those two series also have a very similar feeling: Overall they seem to be about the pure comedy of the day by day life of the characters, but the undertones of it carry some layers of drama that will make you emotional when you  read more

A little girl in a foreign environment labors to fulfill her passion and improve her living conditions with an almost single-minded fervor. Where Maoujou de Oyasumi frames the struggles through a comedic lens, Honzuki no Gekokujou belongs amongst the more serious isekai.

Very similar humor and mood. Lots of characters with completely different ideas of how situations should be handled. They are both some of the rare anime that make you actually laugh the majority of the time watching. I can imagine Oyasumi as an arc in Gintama and it would work completely fine.

both are light hearted comedies on a fantansy setting where the main character just wants to do some pretty normal thing like the princess trapped on a villian's casttle that could't care less where she is or the fact that she has been kidnaped, she just wants to get a good night of sleep and the Dragon who is on a Rpg tipe of fantastic world but all he wants to do is getting a house

Both shows have a main character who is royalty and hardly ever talks. Everyone first assumes that the MC is weak, but are in fact quite capable. The MC also becomes BFFs with a member of a villainous clan.

Both comedies that use a variety of characters to give the shows a lot of personality. They have a fair bit of violence but are used in humorous/slapstick ways. Aside from the MC's themselves, there is a whole cast of interesting and wacky characters supporting the comedy of the plot. Maoujou casts more fantasy characters within its fictional setting whereas Kyuuketsuki casts mainly humans and vampires set in a different kind of modern day Tokyo. Both also have a really cute mascot character in.

-Narration that is hilarious and adds to the anime -Atypical protagonist that goes against the norm or what you would anticipate -Comedy -Princesses are the main character Maoujou de Oyasumi MUST be watched in English dub for maximum comedy effect.

- the main character is a girl on a mission - comedy - fantasy elements - color pallet/art style *you NEED to watch Maoujou de Oyasumi/Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle in English dub if you want it to be nearly as funny as it could be.

Both are absolutely hilarious anime with one being about cute cats and the other being about a sleepy princess, neither will make you go without having a good laugh no matter how stupid they "sometimes" are.
report Recommended by MewsicMagic
Both shows feature a cute princess which casually commits quite brutal acts of mischief, destruction and violence in a cute and innocent manner. Sleepy Princess is more on the slice-of-life, moe and cartoon violence side. Mahou Touge is closer to dark magical girl and visual gore. What unites them is the basic idea of a cute yet violent princess not bound by moral restraints.

A 24-minute comedic fantasy comedy based entirely on a single (ridiculous) joke/premise, and features friendly "enemy" monsters. Unfortunately Kono Healer suffers from much worse pacing and poor comedic timing.

Both series are comedies that portray an atypical female mc dealing with all kinda supernatural and stereotypical "evil" creatures. To be honest main differences are in plot and presentation-one is chinese, the other is japanese. One is a hostage princess, the other is king of the underworld. One only wants to sleep, the other actually tries to do her job as a leader(even tho she is afraid of her subordinates). In both cases, shenanigans and gags ensue.

Both fantasy elements with a cast of unique characters, really relaxing anime.

Both are comedies involving demons, the MCs are cute girls that can get serious if necessary but in a still endearing and cutesy way. Jahy depicts everyday life of a demon among humans, while Maojou de Oyasumi depicts everyday life of a human among demons.

One is a hostage situation, the other an escort situation. Both have a white haired princess with one interacting with demons while trying to sleep, and the other interacting with a pilot while seeking refuge. Both are heartwarming and get intense at important scenes. A bit of romance too.

Both shows were made by the same studio, Doga Kobo, known for making many cute and cute animes. Both shows have short stories, alternating a very well done and functional comedy. Senko-san is more outgoing, as he tells the daily life of a man who always gets tired at the end of his job. This changes when he meets Senko, a magical Kitsune, who decides to help him alleviate his problems. Maoujou de Oyasumi basically involves a princess trapped in a castle, where the only thing she does is sleep (or look for a better way to sleep).

Both are comfy fantasy comedies featuring Rapunzel-like protagonists who, really, are pretty pragmatic and neutral inside. Also a fair amount of mostly cute critters. (demons and fairies, respectively)

They both have the same feel. Cute girls doing horrible yet adorable things. They're both super funny. Umaru-chan focuses more on a group of characters while Oyasumi is more about the main character with a supporting cast.
report Recommended by RAWRfizzz
Both have this old computer games feel (although in the princess case it's more subtle), have a child as the main character, full of weird humor and have a sometimes... questionable morality:) they are great and a lot of fun, try them!
report Recommended by Spiralore
Both have the same director and series composer, so they share very similar comedic rhythms.
report Recommended by arbitrary_greay
Similar humor, some of the character interactions are also quite similar (specifically the way that the princess and "professor" shinonome both only care about their own interests, leading to very funny misunderstandings and means of accomplishing things). They have a similar feel, despite the obvious differences in aesthetics and setting.

The heroines look alike. Same voice actress. Both lazy and lovely
report Recommended by ToshiroNoAyame
Comedy centered around a young girl where, despite everything else, a lot of scary/powerful adults play into her hand. Even though there's a small hint of politics, war and more serious stuff, all of it is actually really laid-back and a lot of fun.
report Recommended by Kondi
The stories are not similar. But the atmosphere is similar. They are humorous anime to relax. With an atypical female main character at the centre of the story. Personally I think the anime "Otome" is better, but both anime are good.
report Recommended by Emrylor
Both feature a princess in a castle setting with non-human captors, where both princesses slowly realise their monster captors are nicer than they initially expected. Both primarily focus on the human monster interactions.
report Recommended by leowon
Both MC's Hina and Suya are both deadpan and just like doing their things and not minding the others. And they are seen as really strange 'alien' from their surroundings. Both have fantastic and pretty strange settings that lead to amazing comedy. Both anime have a bigger than usual supporting cast that are fleshed out and the characteristics of them lead to some really funny moments.
report Recommended by Sugaminny
Both MC's have a very simple goal (sleeping and leading a normal life) and are trying their best to achieve that goal, while being in a situation that makes this very hard to achieve (being held hostage in the Devon lord's castle and having superpowers). The comedy in both anime derives from the supporting characters reactions either to the MC or what's happening around them. So both anime have a pretty big and fleshed out supporting cast.
report Recommended by Sugaminny
Pure comedy that starts from a specific goal (get a good sleep or arrive to school).
