Very similar premises, a mysterious monster-like adult male accompanied by a much younger female in a European style setting with a lot of urban fantasy elements. Mahoutsukai no Yome is a full-on series, complete with gentle moments, action, drama, mystery, and so on (plus a phenomenal soundtrack), whereas Totsukuni no Shoujo is two much simpler OVAs. Both anime are excellent though and are very similar to one another in concept, setting, and tone. If you liked one you'll likely like the other.

Adorable little abandoned girl and big scary monster headed caretaker who isn't quite sure how to handle the responsibility. Much adorableness and slightly sinister characters all around.

Short pieces of enchanting animation, both being fantasy. Similarities include striking imagery, a pastel aesthetic and a touching narrative. The aspects shared between both works are evident at a glance without them being derivative of each other at all. Definitely recommend.

Both are similar anime genre's where it has it's character that can't touch the girl in fear for pain or disappearing. Yet both characters love each other and want to touch one another but they endure to keep one another safe. I would highly recommend both shows for a teary touchy feely show.

Although it is very clear that the two aren't similar with respect to plot, one must also take that the shorts Cat Soup and Foreign Girl, are heavily reliant on visuals to tell what it is they want to. They come across as very artistic rather than a fully elaborated plot. Both also lack any dialogue.

Very short anime that give off very different atmospheres, but still feel very similar.

* This recommendation is only in relation to an anthology episode of Sweat Punch, titled “Comedy”. They bear semblance in symbolic figure and contrasting relationship dynamic, in which a little girl embodies innocence and fragility; in need of company and urgent protection from an external threat, and a lonesome man who, in contrast, manifests a tinge of darkness and danger. The atmosphere is also fairly alike; staged in a calm and distant countryside overriden with dense forest, cozy cottage and warm fireplace— yet with the looming sense of imminent horrors. Both were made with a touch of European sensibilities and rather dark fairy-tale trappings.

-Reminds me a lot of the same animation style -Both tells its story through showing not telling -Light at first but then becomes more and more deeper and meaningful
