Mairimashita! Iruma-kun

A pushover with a bad haircut starts at a school where people have supernatural powers while he technically has none (instead his powers are borrowed). Marimashita Iruma-kun is more lighthearted and cute. 

A young man finds himself for odd circumstances going to a demon school, yet each series has a slightly different take. The styles for both series are bright regarding the colors, one more realistic than the other, yet in this same regard both are fun takes on various monsters.

somehow the exact same type of cast/characters, writing and comedy with the exact opposite plot/premise - both shows will make you laugh way more than you expect (comedy gold mines) - iruma and saiki are the exact opposites of each other personality wise but they both live with the goal of wishing to be seen as normal and blend in (even though their roles make it very unlikely) - both main characters end up having like a fanclub's worth of friends without desiring it and it's great 

Can't get enough of magical schools? There are starting to be more and more series that take place in a magical school, yet they're still something I'm personally on the lookout, and yet the different takes both series take are full of laughs and fun, plus fun characters to keep the viewer entertained. 

In both series the main character is unlucky and has bad parents that refuse to do any actual work. Also in both series the main character gets sold 

If you enjoyed one, you'll probably enjoy the other. -Similar art -Story line of keeping identities hidden, but this time the roles are reversed -Rom com with demons -Simple but enjoyable plots And they are both all around an easy and enjoyable anime to watch :)  

The two shows give off a similar vibe as they both are comedy's that involve demons 

they're not exactly alike in plot, but the overall feel of the series is quite similar. they are both loud sparkly colored and lots of dumb yelling, but can get surprisingly dark for something that looks so child friendly. they both have a massive chaotic neutral energy 

Welcome to Demon School Ikruma-kun and Mashle are both fun comedy anime that I love and would recommend. Although the main characters are very different they along with the overall setting share similarities that I believe make each series a good recommendation. Similarities in Main Character - Mash and Iruma are both highschool aged boys that are powerless. They do not possess magic and they are just humans. Both of the go to a school full of people that can use magic and even fly while they cannot. Both characters quickly make friends and are overall kind people. They both hide their true identities because it is dangerous for others to know who they really are. Differences - Mash is a very nonchalant character and isn't too expressive while Iruma is much more fearful of his situation in the beginning. Although both characters are good people, Iruma is more inclined to help others and use kind language while Mash is more of a kuudere-esque character. He acts before he thinks and does not express much fear or anger even when he feels it. Mash has a good heart but does not go out of his way to say the kind of things that Iruma would to butter people up. Iruma is a regular human in a world of demons. He does not have his own power and much of his fear comes from that. Although Mash lives in a world full of magic users, his physical strength is incredible. Some may say he is very confident in his strength but Mash just tries to use it for everything without thinking about the consequences. The setting is similar in the way that both worlds are filled with characters that can use different kinds of magic. It is the norm to have powers and fly (with wings in Iruma-kun and a broom in Mashle). The MCs both climb the ranks at their respective schools although Mash does it for an overarching goal. Both shows are comedies and have likable characters and some good character development. I watched Mashle in sub and Welcome to Demon School in dub. I love the sub for Mashle although the dub in Iruma-kun is not the best of all the comedy anime that I have watched, it isn't Golden Time so 7/10 for me.  read more 

Looking for the next demon king? Check. Using high school to do so? That's rather new in regards to plot, yet there are two relatively new series tackling demon king and high school, each doing it in a different manner. They're both fun with a wide cast of characters. 

Similar humor style with blink and you'll miss it gags. Both can be considered deal with the supernatural but with a lighter air. Similar art style. 

- Both MCs are from another world - Both MCs are young and have op power - Both MCs have very strong friends - Both MCs live in disguise  

Seemingly wimpy boy, Iruma Suzuki who has to keep his human identity secret, enrolled into a prestigious school to learn about demoncraft or in Okumura Rin, the Blue Exorcist's case in spite of his demonic lineage which he must hide from his peers, anti-demoncraft, we see a correlation of events unfolding in the most peculiar ways where misunderstandings, awkward situations and unexpected friendships are a given.  

They both have an exciting story and it both takes place In another world. They are full of excitement and adventures and I hope you enjoy them :P 

An unfortunate kid gets thrown into another world (literally or figuratively) where he gains friends and power somehow. These series throw a shounen cloak on what at the bare bones seems like a dark/gritty story and make it fun. 

Both are about a young boy learning to stand up for himself more and that being selfish is something that is necessary sometimes, while collecting an entourage of friends made through sheer knidness. Mob and Iruma are definitely up there for goodest boys. 

In this case the roles are reversed and a demon is sent to the living world this time The demon tries to assume into the human society like how iruma is assuming into the demon school  

-Cute characters -Has some funny parts -both underrated 

They both have similar cute vibes. Similar ideas of fighting evil and wanting to be the best. 

Found Family, similar tone and pace. humorous with interesting adventures/problem solving. 

Both have cool fights, school setting, and main characters have similar personality and the plot is similar with competitions  

Each of these series are light comedies in a very episodic nature. If you like random comedy with a dash of moe and want to watch something that isn't serious at all, then these shows go together quite well. 

Cute Vibes And With Magic Anime 

Both are about an average boy whose life is changed after meeting a huge cast of supernatural beings. He befriends some, and they end up in awesome and funny situations and adventures. 

Both MC want to live a relatively normal and average life, but fate says otherwise. Both desperately trying not to stand out, but their desperate attempt of not standing out makes them stand out.  

Person trying to hide their identity in a school that would kill them if they found out. (similarity). In busted darklord, the main character is a demon attending a human school while in iruma kun it's the other way around. (Difference.) 

both protagonist's ambitions are inspired by the student council presidents(amelie for iruma. medaka for zenichi) and both are centered around school clubs, and there are often fights between clubs etc. both have inequalities between students (like abnormals being gifted with extra abilities and have higher status, and higher ranked demons over lower ranked demons). and they voting battles between clubs and voting to see who gets to be the main student council etc. 

Both feature horrible parents who abandon their children because of money. Both main characters are forced to move to a foreign environment where they have to adapt to the new normal.  

very similar. tbh i think some plots are brought here from seton academy. except iruma-kun feels more draggy 

Both shows include the main character being unexpectly put in a world that is unfamiliar to them There are also smaller aspects that are common to both shows, such as A ranking system that determines a character's strength/worth Items that are common in the human world that are rare in the new environment they are in The concept of familiars (though Zero is more centered around this)  

A bunch of sympathetic (yet evil ?) demons worship a human character who has no idea what's going on, but somehow still leads them and being treated as their master/their leader. If Overlord also focuses on battles and politics, the numerous interactions between the demons are mostly funny, just like in Mairimashita Iruma-kun After all, they're both some kind of slice of life, but with demons.  

Based on the feeling this anime has, I was instantly reminded of Majimoji Rurumo. An ordinary (male) main character is suddenly involved with magic. The whole vibe of the anime is very similar to Mairimashita Iruma-kun. Even the way the main character comes to a lot of bittersweet realizations, and how he finds new friends is very similar.  

-Both feature protagonists thrust into a world in which they must use their specialized skills from Earth (survival tactics vs book/craft knowledge) to survive -Both feature somewhat younger child characters as the protagonist -Both are a little slower paced but give a lot of detail and attention to their respective fantasy worlds -Both are a little hampered by lower production values, but make up for it in their writing -Both protagonists have blue hair (almost entirely inconsequential but a little funny nontheless)  

Both are feel-good slice of life school anime with a supernatural twist. The youkai, demons and so on are handled in a comedic, lighthearted way that is both funny and very comfy to watch.  

Iruma-kun is a toned down reverse To Love-Ru or an ecchi lite highschool story so to speak because we see two sides of the same coin. In one hand we have a human boy exposed to new experiences and stimuli in an unfamiliar hellscape trying to fit in at a school attended by all kinds of demons whereas for To Love-Ru its the other way around since Lala a female resident of Deviluke along with her sisters from a distant planet inhabited by devilish aliens prone to causing full of mischief have no other choice but to assimilate into our world through building lasting friendships while also causing endless trouble to the dismay of earthlings due to cultural misalignments in socially accepted norms.  read more 

Both animes are about main character who has no power and ends up in a classroom full of the low rank peoples. Even though they're looked down upon from all the other classes in the school, they strive to become successful and not give up.  

Both have school settings with super natural elements (demons/vampires). Both very charming shows with gorgeous art styles. 

An ordinary boy ends up in the demon world, and ends up as Demon King. And oh becomes good friends with a fire demon who he defeats in a duel. It's also very comedic. 

I can't think of a series quite like it, Comedy, Drama, Found family, Friendships, a fun twist on the Isekai genre (no dying necessary here) combined with school shenanigens. While not much like Ouran at the same time I think if you enjoy the zany humour of it you'll likely get a kick out of Iruma too 

different character with various type of magic or attack, similar kind of group or friendship, similar kind of comedy, unique character design, if you want to enjoy interesting plot and comedy just give it a try 

Both involve a school featuring demon like individuals. Though one school is in the human world and the other in the demon world. Also one is obviously more comedic than the other. 

-The premise is quite similar - both have a human protagonist involved with demons - the ring of Solomon - the human is somehow special to the demons  

- Young, lighthearted, and kind main characters with destinies of epic proportions - Loveable supporting casts/friend groups that grow together - Similar bright and colorful art styles 

Both shows to do with school and contain a variety of characters belonging to a specific character trope making the characters interesting and colourful. The main student in both are the tsukkomi (straight man) characters of the anime so both shows have quite fast paced tsukkomi action. The premise of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun is different than 100% Pascal-sensei in that one consists of a human student living among demons and the other one an alien teacher living among humans. Iruma-kun is more story driven and Pascal-sensei is more gag-based with episodes split into parts (but still has a bit of a plot behind the scenes) but the main target audience for both anime are children. If you're looking for something fun and humorous with a lot of tsukkomi action, I highly suggest one and the other. read more 

Both works have protagonists who are weak in character and appearance, but who are gaining the sympathy of those around them based on their noble actions. Iruma-kun is more humor oriented, and Rokudou is more action/romance oriented. 

Both are about schools featuring super powered individuals. One being superheroes and the other being demons. One is more serious than the other. Also the protagonists of both shows look very similar.
