Mamoru Hosoda is a master at playing heartstrings, and both of these tales of family, connection, bonding, and intimacy are underscored by their raw beauty and emotional density.

Both movies share the idea of transiency of life by showing most significant events; both share some general vibes. Similar themes like significance of memories and importance of family bonds, how important is to stay wholesome and supportive to people that surround you.

Heartwarming, sweet moments, adventure, tension, and an art style that never fails to amaze the eyes. Both movies may be a little abstract at times, but they pull at your heart in just the right way. Two stories about growing up in a strange world, learning about the importance of family in the best way possible. Studio Chizu is a master at producing wholesome movies.

The story aren't really that similar but when I watched Mirai no Mirai, I got the same feeling when I watched Summer Wars. Both Movies are great!

A Silent Voice and Mirai share a similar path in expressing hate of a character, only to understand them in their respective future together. A Silent Voice follows Ishida bullying deaf girl Shouko. Mirai follows a jealous Kun bullying his little sister Mirai due to her existence taking away his love from his parents. Both Ishida and Kun end up going through some shift in time to talk things through with the ones they have victimised. A Silent Voice does this via time skip, Mirai literally uses time travel. Both are good movies, which happen to be s.o.l, with good visuals all around.

both focus on the issues of youth as well as nice to look at art and character designs and time alteration as well too.

Transcend. Your Name and Mirai both have a similar start and end in that characters get off on the wrong foot at first, but with merging into how these characters live like, the MCs begin to understand one another and where they went wrong. Your Name does this through Taki and Mitsuha having multiple body swaps. Mirai, with Kun looking at the past of said character. Both are great anime movies, with Your Name having better visuals imo, though Mirai's simple style is not one to underestimate.

Attention seeker. A Whisker Away and Mirai both follow a young person who is constantly looking for the attention of a particular person, more so in the name of love. Whisker Away's Muge does everything in her power to make Hinode fall for her. Mirai's Kun tries to avert his mother's attention from his new baby sister. Both are good supernatural anime movies with Mirai being more of an adventure, in comparison to the rom-com drama of Whisker Away.

Both settings are considerably different but a key part of both series is that the main character is lead by a future version of someone that he knows and that guides him in order to not to ruin their future. Mirai in the case of Mirai no Mirai and Mikuru in the case of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, in both they also travel to the past and know past versions of people they know too, without them noticing in the future yet still having influenced in them and changing the protagonist's perception on those people.

Slice of Life anime which also have supernatural elements in it .

Mirai and My Neighbor Totoro are award winning films about sibling relationships, but approach this theme differently. My Neighbor Totoro is a film without a narrative structure, character lessons, resolutions, or anything really. Yet, many consider Totoro to be a masterpiece for this characteristic. Mirai is the complete opposite. It has a clear narrative structure, character lessons, and a resolution to the plot. Yet, Mirai is the least well known film by Mamoru Hosada. If you're looking for a new family-friendly anime then this is your recommendation.

Implicit lecture. Spirited Away and Mirai both follow two selfish kids who only think about themself go through an experience of a lifetime of where they stand and how they should behave accordingly. Spirited Away is Chihiro's drift from the real world to a fantasy, getting a job there in order to live. Mirai is similar, where young Kun learning how to get along with his sister through a future version of herself. Both are good anime adventure movies featuring good visuals. Spirited Away has a fantasy base compared to Mirai's s.o.l one.
