Both are slice of life shows following a cute female cast of characters producing art. New Game! is about girls making art for video games while Comic Girls is about girls making manga. Both are great examples of the cute girls + activity subgenre of the cute girls doing cute things subgenre of slice of life, but you may like one over the other depending on if making video games or making manga is more interesting to you.

There was barely any manga-theme related recommendations. Similarities: about manga While Comic Girls is about a fledgling manga artist and all the moe that ensures, Bakuman is about a pair of guys making it through the manga industry. I felt Bakuman was in-depth in the inner workings of the manga industry, while the main lead in Comic Girls was trying to learn how to get better in her drawings.

Both shows feature a main character who struggles with (relatable?) self doubt and a lack of confidence. They have a similar feel of comedy, as their struggles are both portrayed in a similarly comic way. Although Bocchi feels more exaggerated/extreme than Comic Girls in that regard. Both characters also have a similar kind of situation and growth. They enter a new environment and make new friends who have a shared goal. You see both characters slowly grow as they gain more confidence, work harder, and become more comfortable with their new friends. While the main character in Comic girls isn't a prodigy like in Bocchi  read more

in both comic girls and hitoribocchi, the MC suffers from social anxiety and is "forced" to interact with people. Chaos met the rest of the girls through their love for manga and Bocchi had promised her best friend that she'd try to overcome her disorder by making friends at her new school. Both shows are very wholesome.

Both works have a pretty similar main cast with the generic pink-haired MC, her classic tsundere best friend and "pair" of girls that strongly resemble or imply the yuri pairing of tomboy and girly girl which are all together live in an old Japanese building. The main difference is that Konohana has a profound, philosophical content and openly shoujo ai, while Comic Girls more carefree and uses the latter more for jokes and fanservice.

First up, both are relaxing slice of life show with a little comedy. The impression depicted by both gave the sense of a smooth progression without much climax that would get your heart beating faster than usual. But that is also why both shows are nice. Second, both of the shows have excellent theme songs - I'm sure many would like it as well. Now, if you are looking for a show for you to sit back, relax and watch, or after watching numerous action/horror show, then you pick this up.

It's quite similar in the mangaka/school/slice of life setting but very VERY mild. Basically 0 drama, light comedy, ect ect. I recommend it if you just want to relax and have something in the background that you can just switch to whenever without missing much.

Both shows are cute with moe looking characters. Moeta and Kokoa as the cute, cuddly main character with a pink theme. Koyume and Sharo, the blonde haired girls, who are energetic. Ruki and Rize with a purple color theme who both look like they have a graceful personality however both get easily embarrassed and loves cute things. Tsubasa and Chiya who have a cool personality.

Art style is very similar, same tropes with Cute Girls Cute Thing traits, character is pretty comparable to each other, same lightheardness and very easy and relaxing to watch.

Token recommendation as these two are probably the closest to each other out of the CGDCT pack, much more so than the show that has the highest rec count for Comic Girls at this point(April 21 2018), which is New Game Both Kirara, similar subject, not identical but comparable relations/dynamics between the main cast, and a slightly serious/coming-of-age tone towards the main character

Both of them are slice of life with lots of moe and cute girls doing cute things. Even the main characters have the same hair color, similar body types and personalities based on that. They´re good animes for you to turn off and just relax. The biggest difference is that Endro is based in a fantasy setting and Comic Girls is about cute girls making manga.

If I didn't recommend this, I would feel like I am taking part in a crime because these seriously have the same vibes and generally are great anime. Comic girls is about making manga and Do it yourself is about building furniture. These animes' are just relaxing and fun.

You see the title? Similar? both have stories about drawing comics, one is professional and wants her comics to become a series and the other just wants to sell them as doujin. Indeed, the goals are different, but both have stories about drawing comics.

Cute Girls Doing Cute Things. Relaxing comedy. No male lead. While Yuru Yuri focuses on short stories of random comedy related to amusing lesbian romance, friendship, silliness, school life, and slice of life. Comic Girls focuses on the goals that each main girl is trying to achieve.

Cute girls drawing manga and becoming friends, basically and simply. These shows focus not only on cuteness of main mangakas. There is (I suppose) some technical stuff that you can get familiar with and pretend that you know the industry and the workshop. Both anime are kinda fun to watch, at least as an undemanding pastime.

Shirobako and Comic Girls have a similar premise in that they focus on the lives of those in a specific industry: working for an anime production company in the case of Shirobako and making manga in Comic girls They also are loaded with cute girls :)

This two anime kind of similar. Both slice of life anime about a group of girls. One tells the story about a voice actor and the other about high school mangaka artist. Both animation really lovely and cute also colorful, really fun to watch. If you enjoy one of this anime I bet you will enjoy the other one.

Both are relaxing slice of life moe shows that follows a group of high school students. The story starts when the main character (Alice and Hana) transfers into the class and becomes friends with the rest of the characters. The show follows their everyday life as they spend time together doing a variety of things such as going to the beach. Karen and Tamate are the outgoing and energetic girls who easily becomes friends with everyone. Eiko and Aya are the level headed girls. Kanmuri and Alice are the token cute characters who will melt your heart. If you like slice of life moe shows  read more

Both series revolve around the process of manga creation. -In Mangaka-san, the author is a successful serialized ecchi author. -In Comic Girls, there are multiple aspiring authors and one of them also publishes an erotic manga series.

Both series focus on the difficulities of young people creating art and trying to make it in their individual artistic worlds (painting and other fine arts for Blue Period, manga for Comic Girls).
report Recommended by RiverSorcerer
Both series are CGDCT-styled looks at young women working to improve themselves in their chosen artistic crafts (manga for Comic Girls, ceramics for Mug Cup) and assisting each other along the way; both series also feature more introspective moments amongst its characters as they grapple with professional and personal challenges.

Both shows feature a cast of cute characters who were became friends because of a joined interest. Comic girls with Mangaka's and HaNaYaMaTa with Yosakoi dancers. Think of Wakaba*Girl as the spiritual predecessor to Comic Girls. Comic Girls' director was involved in both projects, the two shows come from the same studio and they have similar structures in terms of genre conventions and story. If you liked one, you'll like the other. Here's a fuller breakdown: https://animeatlas.wordpress.com/2018/05/04/wakabagirl-the-spiritual-predecessor-to-comic-girls/

Both series present the lives of up and coming female stars in the Japanese entertaining industry. Sore ga Seiyuu is about the insides of the seiyuu industry, such as voice acting, units, etc. Comic Girls is more focused in the manga industry and the processes of making manga. Both main characters have anxieties and big confidence issues because they don't know if they're gonna be stars at all, Futaba for SgS and Kaos-chan for CG. Futaba and Kaoruko have great female friends who support each other to consolidate themselves in their respective industries.
