The two worst anime ever created, directed by the Ed Wood of anime. Both of them are absolutely hilarious to watch and will have you burst out laughing from scene to scene. This is the pinnacle of "so bad, it's good."

A huge monster attacks the city and the most unqualified people to protect it are forced to do so using mechs. Both shows also contain fanservice and artificial humans.

These are the two shows you need to watch if you want to see the worst of the worst without wandering into NSFL territory. Skelter Heaven features awful animation and a story bad enough to make it the lowest ranking anime on the site. Utsu Musume Sayuri features even more awful, albeit creative, animation and writing that some debate doesn't count as a story. Both will make you question why Japan is allowed to export animation, appreciate the mediocrity of other anime more than anything I know, and quite possibly turn you off from touching anything Japanese with a ten-foot pole ever  read more

Usually, these recommendations are based on the common good parts. This time, it's the opposite. If you're looking for anime production that is significantly bad on various accounts so your main source of enjoyiment is watching the trainwreck, these two anime are just for you.

These two... things, are the worst of their kind. If every anime produced is a new "birth" by the industry, these two are abortions. Pupa is the worst TV anime. Skelter+Heaven is the worst OVA anime. They're so bad you'll either have suicidal thoughts or homicidal thoughts towards the producers. They're both extremely short, so the only reason you should watch these two is to get to know by first-hand experience what defines a ridiculously bad anime. If you hated one, you'll hate the other.

"Animation is an art" - Both are proofs of what happens when you make an animation without taking into account that phrase. Both are horrible stuff you can watch if you want to genuinely feel what is losing time feeling like.

They were both seemingly created to capitalise off of the success of Neon Genesis Evangelion. They are both use the strange monsters coming to attack a headquarters on earth formula and have suspiciously similar characters.

Two of the most life-changing anime ever. You're never the same person before and watching them... ...In the bad sense.

Horrible anime OVAs with ultracompressed nonsensical corny stories which feel like a waste of time and potential but at least they come with banger openings. Well... Ryokunohara Meikyuu at least is animated and edited properly.

Absurd, plotless sci-fi shorts with girls moaning. Do you want to lose braincells? Please enjoy.

Short works feature a Kaiju from space battling Mechs. Both have elements of CGI, are deep/arty and had lots of potential but are poorly executed.

- Has as awesome story - The characters have the same amount of depth - The music is equally memorable - Equally amazing CGI - Both are underrated masterpieces - Similiar vibes after watching

Highschool girls in mechs fighting huge monsters to protect humanity but mostly because their coach tells them too. Animation quality is about the same as well.
report Recommended by RandomPerson4
- both are Mecha genres - both have girls fighting with help of machines
report Recommended by abystoma2
Both are terrible OVAs with fanservice - and a female character who obviously loves the male character.

This is a half meme/ half legit rec. If you thought the twist ending of Skelter+Heaven could be good if done right, this show has similar themes.

Both are OVAs that are considered some of the worst ever. Both are supposed to be action, have good voice acting and a romantic subplot. Both fail miserably.
