If the similarity in character design wasn't enough, Udon no Kuni gives me the same fluffy vibes that Barakamon did. The protagonists are trying to find themselves under their own circumstances and then a young child/(or tanuki, in Udon no Kuni) enters their lives. Both series have a very similar feel and I highly recommend watching one if you have watched the other.

Similar single father adopted child dynamic. Both series are set off by the death of a relative and focus deeply on fatherhood in a very sweet and touching way.

both are slice of life anime that have a focus on parenting. moe for adults will make you think at times think "ah, maybe i should be a parent". in real life, don't fall for it, actual parenting is much harder than what these anime depict - they only depict the upsides of parenting and rarely any of the downsides.

A similar theme of a young man returning to his hometown and taking care of an unrelated child.

Similarities: Both are non-romance slice of life anime that involves kids. Differences: Poco's Udon World has fantasy elements, and focuses more on life decisions people make when they are in their thirties while Gakuen Babysitters is a realist anime with more comedy elements and romance.

Heartwarming story about a father figure and a child, which is (not) a human, thus he/she needs to hide his/her identity.

These are two shows that focus heavily on themes of family, loss, and getting over your past. They obviously feature tanuki heavily, which plays large roles in their stories and characters, but it's these themes that really make these two similar to me. They are also both very colorful and fun experiences to watch.

Both are stories about how a man comes to terms living with a new "pet", and how it affects both their lives. Similar style of comedy as well.

Both have an older male with a young cute little thing by their side. These anime both have cute creature which make you feel happy inside. One big difference however is the Kure-nai is a lot dark with action and the male MC protecting the female MC where this is a lot more laid back and more slice of Life

Being a parent is hard, especially when your kid is a human-animal hybrid. But its all worth it when you realize how cute they look in those ears.

The Movie follows a little girl growing with a spirit in the forest of the shrine in her grandfather's town. It has the attachment, SOL, feels-trip that you might be looking for. *Not guaranteed to make you cry just guaranteed to make you smile*

both deal with taking care of a small child and making sure they experience new things. both male main characters act as father figures and care very much the kids. Definitely worth watching! lots of emotion in both if you want a good family slice of life anime.

Both MCs here adopt a supernatural child-- and have to learn from scratch how to raise them. Both have a sweet, charming disposition and are part of Prime Minister's Abe quest to get the Japanese to procreate and have kids.

Those anime deal with the death of a parent, supernatural and cute companion and countryside of Japan. Futhermore both anime are making me relax and happy for the characters. Indeed two great anime to chill !

These are two anime that are chill and basically make you want children. In the two case the MC is someone with a good hearth. Personally I have passed a really good time watching both. And that was really calm for the majority of those show even if there is one or two episode in both that make me fill less chill, because there are moment with serious business.

Similarities: - Centres on acceptance, family bonds, and uncovering mysteries about themselves - Heartwarming and sweet - A pinch of romance (not so much that it affects the plot) - Both MC's are a pair (human & non-human) - MC's develop a family-type relationship - A few sprinkles of comedy - Teaches you a thing or two about life (acceptance, love, family) - Beautiful art styles *warning* you may cry

slice of life series about an animal that took form of a human child, and their human "parent" who takes care of them.

Older sibling figure taking care of younger child while dealing with own struggles. Similar genre and feel

Both the anime have a normal guy taking care of god-like figures who have taken human form. Udon no kuni no kiniro kemari is about a guy taking care of a fox spirit while Kannagi is about a teenager taking care of a goddess.

adult protagonist moving back home and reminiscing about their childhood

Both anime about friendship of man and beast that is the human mind. In Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari this is boy-tanuki Poko, in Kuma Miko this is bear Natsu. In Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari guy named Souta takes care of Poko. In Kuma Miko bear Natsu takes care about girl named Machi. Couples of these anime fall into awkward situations, find new friends, learn something, and give each other pleasure.

I have nothing to say except i have given my personal rating of 8 for "Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari" and 9 for "Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai". They are both very good anime to refresh your mind and to enjoy with your family. So plz watch them and enjoy.

These shows teach the characters life lessons with the help of small animal companions. While the directing style and general mood is often quite different (Udon being much more cutesy and Sarazanmai being... well... Sarazanmai), they give me similar vibes in terms of how the characters grow and learn more about themselves through the help of these small companions (or by becoming the companions). They are primarily about people dealing with and overcoming their past; things that they would rather keep closely guarded in their hearts that are forced out into the open for them to wrestle with.

- Single father dynamic - A variety of people acting as their support system - Slice of Life
report Recommended by cornonacob
Key point: a very similar art style with heavy lighting between the line and the colour so it looks like there's a streak of white at the edges. Both are slice of life shows revolving around unexpected visitors with light comedy. Aside from that though they're very different from each other in atmosphere, plot, and quality.

If you love how cute Poco is and you like to watch the silly antics of little ones, then Chibi Devi is the anime for you. Full of adorable moments and parenting joys, this anime will appeal to your innate maternal instincts. Both series are recommended for those who love cute kids.
report Recommended by Hoshi14
Both animes are showing how family bond can be formed between different species. In Udon no Kuni it was between Human and Raccoon and in Omae Umasou da na it was between Carnivorous Dinosaur and Herbivorous Dinosaurs. I promise that you will laugh then cry and reminisce your parents after watching the shows.

Protagonist moves from Tokyo to a small rural town and learns to love it. An easygoing slice-of-life story with a focus on rural Japanese life that will leave you with a smile on your face.
report Recommended by Neko-Hoshishima
-Both have a rural setting. -Both have an MC who doesn't want to follow his father's footsteps in successing his business and instead follow their own dreams. -In both they reminisce about their past -MC in Udon no Kini is an adult who realized his mistake of going after his dream, while in Dagashi Kashi MC is a youngster who wants to follow his dream. So you can say that Udon no Kini is a future version of what will happen in Dagashi Kashi if MC sticks to his dream.

Relaxing slice of life animes that kind of make you feel good inside as the story progresses.
report Recommended by Blancchet
These two shows have the same heart at the core of it. Ie Naki Ko is definitely more tragic than Udon's upbeat nature, being about a young boy who's sold off to a traveling musician. But there still is an endearing father/son relationship in both between two people who, while they aren't related, are still family regardless. And this relationship is the central relationship in both shows.
