Were you a girl who read stories about magic, fairies, or unicorns as a kid? Read these series! Both manga have a delightful dedication to wonder and imagination. Regarding content, I would say the central themes of each series are different, but they both include messages on coming-of-age and challenging darkness, both in the world and in oneself. Plus, the art’s good! Though Witch Hat Atelier cannot be topped, Mahōtsukai no Yome is also quite pretty.

Both stories start with human girl without will to live. Girls meet non-human creatures, who they start developing relationships with. Even though both stories have romance in them, Niehime to Kemono no Ou as a shoujo is more focused on it.

These two works share their place in the demographic chart and have similarities in cast and topics. The similarities are: - Mag Garden publications, officially shounen, but female-made and female-oriented; - the pair of main characters are a male mystical creature (tall, horned, feared by other people) and a cute human girl, the mystical creature takes care of the girl; - deal with fear of the otherness and relationships between different species; - magical setting, somewhat sad, have slice-of-lifey moments; - there're hints on danger for the heroine. The most prominent differences are: - Totsukuni no Shoujo has a caretaker-child relationship, Mahoutsukai no Yome is closer to romance; - Mahoutsukai no Yome  read more

If you're looking for some serene fantasy with creative ideas, then consider these two series. Both of them adapts world fiction with great ideas. The main protagonist from both series can see otherworldly beings and discover unparalleled supernatural events. Both series has great relationship dynamics especially when it comes to a human and supernatural being. Recommended for fans of fantasy/supernatural fiction.

Worlds of fantasy and magic residing adjacent and together with the human world, sorcerers, mages, shapeshifters, fairies, witches - if any of these catch your fancy give Mahou Tsukai no Yome a try. If you are a fan of Ran to Haiiro no Sekai I think you will enjoy this. If you enjoy fantasy worlds try these as they are interesting takes on the genre but have the mc learning to do magic. Both of these mangas feature young female leads in a male demongraphic, are ongoing and have great art.

Both take place in England and contain fairies and such that adds to the Fantasy genre. Both also has romance and the story starting out with the main male character saving the main female character.

In both these manga's the heroine is transported to an world very different from their own. Both are betrayed and sold/sacrificed to a powerful magic user and become the bride of said magic user. Both the leading ladies have vibrant red hair and a desire to protect others. As for the male leads, they both know very little about emotions and have to learn human behaviour and to be more human themselves.

Both manga feature a human girl building a relationship with a guy with supernatural identities. Mahoutsukai no Yome has a more serious tone to it, but both have their romantic and comedic aspects.

The storytelling of Akagami no Shirayuki-hime and Mahoutsukai no Yome has a similar feeling relating to fate. Both series' main female protagonist encounters an individual that changes their lives forever. There's a budding relationship that grows over time through the time they spend together. Furthermore, we see how much their characters develop in a fantasy world where there are many possibilities. Both series also adapts romance (more evident so in Akagami). The main female protagonist from both series are also known for their signature scarlet hair. Recommended for fans for fantasy fiction.

A lonely girl and a lonely man who takes her in. Romance ironically buds from both couples' efforts in shedding their co-dependence. The heavy inking and Gothic undertone perpetually paints Mahoutsukai no Yome in a shade of melancholy, while hope always feels just around the corner in the warm and tender world of Taiyou no Ie.

Both mangas are alike in their beautiful art, rich fantastical worlds, and cute character interactions. If you like reading mangas that have dark fantasy elements, then Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi is for you. Gruesome, raw and incredibly drawn, the attention to detail in the backgrounds, and the gorgeous panels of Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi reminded me very much of Mahoutsukai no Yome. On a superficial level, both involve an older male looking after/guiding the main protagonist, and they are related to the main protagonist in some manner, (future husband, father). Both of these mangas have tugged at my heartstrings, and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading  read more

Both manga rely heavily on describing magic and how it is used, as well as enjoyable character development. however this no slice of life Moe manga, this involves more of a shojo type of attitude of a... female getting to know her partner while slowly revealing the darkness below the surface of both characters through various circumstances that arise.

Assume that you got lost and nowhere to go... but the wait inevitable... Every interactions between character.. defies a lot of whether you're no longer resist reality... The counterpart is that, It simplify the whole scenerio about get droven to another world... which is much peacefully calm that leaves a lot of despair and hatred

Ancient Magus Bride and NOMK have a lots of similarities like "young girl in another world, meeting new exiting people with interesting quirks", but beware, that whole romance thing isn't included in NOMK.

Even though the pair of main characters are quite different there is still much that feels alike between the series. They both center around either a young girl or boy who are in the beginning stages of learning magic from a mysterious older person. A person whose true appearance might not be very human at all. Even though there may have been violence in the young protagonists' pasts there's still a certain gentle feel to both series, in them helping those who can only be aided through magical assistance.

Spirit familiars and magic reign in these two manga with amazing art and interesting characters. Apprentice Exorcists and Apprentice Sorcerers, what's not to love?

Main characters who can see things that others can not. Monochrome Myst also gave me a similar vibe as Mahoutsukai no Yome.

While they have different plots as well as different settings (one is set in Japan, the other in England), both Kamisama Hajimemashita and The Ancient Magus' Bride share the common theme of 'Beauty and the beast'. An abandonned, sad girl weeping in the streets (Nanami and Chise) meets a seemingly mature yet mysterious fellow (Tomoe and Elias). As the story goes on, they both learn about each other, in many ways.

Very similar feeling. Magus resembles Yuuki and Chise resembles Tsukasa.

Main character is newly learning about another world, be it fey or youkai. The stories are a bit episodic with some overarching plot. If you enjoyed the otherworldly creatures from either series, you'll likely enjoy the other series as well.

A well crafted world where a young magician with a haunted past is learning and growing. Written by female mangakas with a knack for bishounens with leather gloves. Both protagonists have ponytails. Seriously what more do you need?

Fruits Basket and Mahoutsukai no Yome adapts fantasy/supernatural themes as the main female character develops their own role in the world. Both series' main female protagonist were abandoned from the beginning of the story but establishes connections with other characters they meet. Their personality allows them to form friendships easily with others. Both series are also known for magic content that is explored heavily.

Mahoutsukai no Yome is like the seinen version of magico. First there is the main couple, a great magician and a girl with hidden powers. The great magician has somewhat an inhuman side to him, there is also a deep meaning behind the marriage, and magic is explained in a different way from most series out there.

Both are fantasy and share same detailed artwork quality.

Similarities: + Unique, magical relationships between a human girl and non-human man + Similar mixes of a little comedy and drama with a nice, heartwarming atmosphere Differences: - Kon no Ki Konoha is only a one shot - Mahou Tsukai no Yome has much more of a focus on magic and spells, magical creatures, and the main character has a darker past
reportRecommended by Asfaria
These anime's similarities lies in the main female characters and the world of the anime. Both the female leads have red hair and are very strong and kind, but still reliant characters. The settings are both in (kind of) fantasy worlds, though Magus's Bride is supposed to be our world, mostly England and Iceland, with magic and Yona is just old Asia with magic. They both give us a realistic, but still magical world.

Both girls see enchanted worlds, Miyori has been abandoned by her parents and left with her grandparents in the countryside, while there she attracts the attention of the local forest spirits. In Mahou Tsukai no Yome, Hatori lost her family she is sold in a strange black market for a high price for being a Slay Vega, she is bought by a strange creature who takes her as his apprentice.

In both series, there's a main female protagonist who gets thrown into a new place/world as their life changes forever. Although the girl doesn't have much similar with the main male protagonist, she is able to form a close bond with them as the story progresses. Both series are known for their fantasy themes. Mahoutsukai no Yome has magical creatures and spiritual beings as well.

love love love the depictions of the Fae™ in both of these. girls who were into faeries will understand.

Both stories tell the tale of two individuals that married out of obligation but slowly start loving each other. Mahoutsukai no Yome takes place in a magical world, whereas Hokuou Kizoku is a more realistic setting.
reportRecommended by Dignity
Both feature a young girl sold as a slave developping Stockholm syndrome. Involve a lot of romance.

Taking place in a fantasy world, both series adapts the story between two characters who are almost nothing alike. If you are interested in relationships between a human and non-human, then these two titles could spark a lot of interest. Beyond that, we also learn about the events that unfold in both series as well as elements in their fantasy world. Good characterization and story building are evident as well with fantastic art.
reportRecommended by Stark700
The setting of both series is a fantasy world where there are unimaginable possibilities. Among its most interesting aspects are the existence of non-human beings. In fact, one of the main characters from both series possesses attributes that are more associated with a demon. The core of both series focuses on a human and non-human's relationship as we see how much they learn from each other. Both series also has mystery especially in regards with their world fiction elements.

What if you were in a situation totaly out of your control, just because you were born with certains circunstances? That is the situation in both cases. Come an read, to see how the characters deals with the situations and make friends along the chapters.

Both Manga's have a younger Main character in a relationship with a much older mate. Both Female Lead Characters have a troubled childhood that effects the way they handle certain situations. Both protagonists always seem to fight for their love no matter how dangerous or reckless the situation may be. Both Manga's have Romance, Drama elements. The two stories have a very pleasant and heart warming atmosphere.
