By the same author, in both manga, the plot is almost entirely character driven and relies upon on the intricate relations and interactions between the characters. The art drawn not "bad" in a sense but that it has almost no attention to detail, and the backgrounds are very plain. Chikan is heavily reliant on dialogue and conversations, whereas Onani is slighter better art and in my opinion easier on the eyes to read.

Manga adaptations of threads started on 2chan where zero-experience-with-females males, whose natural habitat is a room with an internet connection, find themselves in an unlikely situation: in contact with an attractive female (or 3/4, in Chikan!) that's out of their league. Their response to these turn of events is to post SOS messages on the internet. (More than once, Train Man gets referenced in Molester Man.) In Train Man, its lead stands up to a drunk on a train and ends up in the good graces of the woman he got hurt protecting... after a visit to the police. In Molester Man, a paranoid woman assumes  read more

Both are short and cutely drawn slice-of-life manga, in which friendship blooms into romance and the main couple is really awkward and sweet.

Guy gets involved with a pretty girl which leads to complications/romance. Shut in. Social outcast. Character growth. Cool Otaku.

definitely the funniest mangas out there

A guy think he knows who he likes, but it's complicated. Both have a similar "realistic" feel to them. Very little, if any, filler. Both very engrossing.

not even the same genre but i don't know i this if you liked one you will enjoy the other

It seems like both main characters unfortunately are seen as total perverts and molesters, not being able to keep their hands off girls' bodies. They constantly find themselves in wrong situations, on a wrong time, in the wrong place, with everyone misunderstanding what they truly mean. *Artstyle is rough in both.

Similarities: + Slice of life stories about a group of college-age people living normal, poor lives and struggling to find their place in life + Some comedy but mostly drama Differences: - Chikan Otoko's main protagonist is a guy and focuses much more on forming a relationship whereas Solanin's protagonist is female and is struggling in her current relationship - Solanin has a large focus on music and forming a band

Both are based on a series of stories posted on the internet. Chikan Otoko also makes a reference to Densha Otoko and Hermes.

Very seinen type of romance series here, both stories are centered around young adult relationships and the interactions between characters.

Both include about love triangles though Ef focuses on several other relationships as well. The settings are a bit different since in Ef the characters are in high school while in Chikan Otoko they go to a university. But in both, the main male character lives alone and is taken care of by the girls he meets, and without them he would be helpless.

Both are about loner guys who get caught up in a love triangle and another girl (in Aku No Hana the other girl comes later and in Chikan Otoko the other girl is how everything gets started). Both guys are pretty clueless when it comes to romance and are slightly perverted.
