My Balls (Ore Tama) is a hilarious Mature, Ecchi, Romantic, Comedy with one of the most absurd plots I've come across in a non-H manga. Think 40 Days & 40 Nights through the mind of a perverted mangaka; where a being, not of this world, is accidentally sealed in a poor virgin's balls. Now the next time he ejaculates, within the current month, marks the end of the world. Can the whole of mankind be save through the abstinence of one man?

It is only by reading this manga that you'll be able to find the answer, but in the process of reading you will ... discover one absurdly funny story. Comedy is what it's all about and with a title like My Balls, you can assume that it'll be full off adult humour. Adult humour that will continuously push the boat, in providing comedy that is completely unheard of in manga, but on the other hand the story certainly isn't its strongest suite. With each chapter merely following the escapades of the protagonist (Kohta) and his companion (Elyse). This mainly comprises of a bunch of random events, mostly involving some demon spawn, attempting to release their Queen and these scenarios are loosely strung along to form a coherent story. Sure in most manga, having a weak storyline could prove detrimental to the plot but with a plot as absurd as "the Queen of Hell being sealed into a virgin's spunk cavern", then one can accept the lack of any in-depth, logical, story.

The virgin in question, Kohta, is the poor sod that has to endure all the perversion being force onto him. Due to the nature of the story, most readers would expect him to be an unlikeable, generic, guy; but on the contrary. He is not useless at all, like the pathetic virgins you typically find in ecchi, rom/coms and that's what makes him so damn funny to watch. His female companions may have personalities that follow the most generic of tropes, but they do offer just a lil something special that will make even their predictable actions seem amusing. To complete the cast are a number of other-worldly beings that have very little to do with any character development and are just there to serve the plot.

The artwork is just as good in serving that plot; especially in its portrayal of ecchi scenes and near pornographic sex acts. It is simple, yet very effective. The panels are also well organised and even with a lot of them, on a single page, it never gets messy... unless it's trying to be.

Overall My Balls is one of the funniest things I've ever read and by far the funniest, perverted manga ever created... and I've read a lot of those. However, with all its unadulterated humour, some can easily be turned off by how perverted it gets. For the guys & girls who don’t mind numerous reverse rape situations; will end up rolling on the floor laughing at the adult humour and in turn, be shocked by what this manga & its characters are capable of doing. Every chapter will provide something new to laugh about. It's a shame it had somewhat of a weak ending.

Long version:

Story-7: There is actually a story, and it is OK, if somewhat lacking in the ending. MC is (another) useless bum who is hopeless in life. Then, in a freak accident, the Queen of terror becomes sealed inside his... balls. To prevent the end of days, he shall not come. Yes, the story is as weird as the title makes it out. As the story goes on, demons (who all happen to be female, for some reason, and yet this isn't a harem) attempt to seduce MC in an effort to make him release his load and finally have demonkind rule the world. No, you are not going to get an epic 'hero defeats the demon lord and saves the world' plotline from a title like 'My balls', but the story is serviceable, and gives many opportunities for ecchi scenes. Nothing special, if not creative, but it isn't bad either.

Characters-9: This is where, in my honest opinion, the manga really shines. We have the MC, Kohta Satou, the useless bum who destroys the world if he ejaculates, and one of the lesser demons sent to make him do just that, Elyse*. Kohta has a crush on his colleague, Minayo, but being the useless bum he is, he does not have the balls(?) to ask her out. As the story goes on, we see the MC try to hold it in as hordes of demon girls use an array of fetishes to get MC to blow his load and release their queen, while Elyse slowly falls in love with MC, and Kohta begins to make his move on Minayo. The chemistry between Kohta and Elyse is some of the best I have seen in ecchi romances. I genuinely felt the sparks fly between them, and I found myself rooting for Elyse even as Kohta progresses further with Minayo. Its one of the few reasons you may want to pick up this series. Well, that and maybe the ecchi.

*just going to rant about Elyse here. She is one of the most cutest, beloved, and most expressive tsundere pettanko i have seen in a long time. Every time she is with Kohta, there is never a dull moment, from scolding each other, to dates, to her crying when she sees her beloved Kohta enjoying sex with someone else and being unable to do anything about it. Ok, rant end, on with the review.

Art-8: its an ecchi series, so the art is usually good, by default. All the curves are there in the right places, and all the facial expressions complements the action going on. Characters are easily told apart, since all the different demons look like ecchi cosplayers.

Enjoyment-9: I came for the story, and stayed for the characters. I was expecting a typical harem romcom where MC is so dense it is unforgivable, and I will then default to admiring the ecchi that this manga is priding itself on. What I got was an MC that becomes more likeable and becomes aware of the girls' feelings, a lead female that is just downright enjoyable (see rant), and good fanservice in between.

Overall-8: If you want some quality fanservice with characters that are likeable, pick this up if you can get past the fanservice. The story is simple but doesn't commit any grave sins, but lets be honest, you are here for the ecchi and characters, not the story. IF you cannot handle fanservice, skip this, but only after reading through the first few chapters. It is entertaining, enjoyable and has memorable characters let down by an ending that doesn't do the romance between Elyse and Kohta enough justice.

… ya… you read the name right… this manga is literally called… ‘My Balls’… WHAT THE FUCK JAPAN? I mean really, I can understand the hard core stuff, I might be able to be ok with the tentacle thing… but really, that stuff is actually Hentai. This manga… its not listed as Hentai and in fact, it doesn’t really even show anything but blurry images or pixilated images of ‘things’. Well, since this is not under the term Hentai, it shall be reviewed as what it was named as… and boy, this is going to be a pain in the ass.

So let me get this ... straight, this perverted guy has had no luck with woman for his whole life and the month that he can’t have sex, every single girl wants to do him. Not only that, the girl he likes wants him, and even woman from hell want him. This turns into a large harem manga without even trying to be. The author ended up with the perfect storyline for a harem without even trying though it’s a manga I really wish I didn’t have to review. Then we have a devil that wears a cross around her neck and just keeps acting like a little girl getting into sex for the first time, a succubus that wants him to cum, and even the whole female hell armada seems to want him to do that. I’m serious, they have things from cupid to vampires trying to come at him that I’m surprised he isn’t put in prison for public indecency yet. For crying out loud, the guy ends up without his pants on for practically the whole manga including being outside and seems only once has been arrested and that was because of his boss taking him somewhere.

And you know what is the kicker about where I was reading this manga? I was reading it on Mangafox and the translators even put in the extra pages at the end where they have advertisements. Most are for sex items! I’m not joking… I HATE THIS! It’s one of the most disgusting manga’s I had to take a look at in a long time and that’s saying much because I have seen hentai.

As I said in the beginning, the artwork is nice though there are a lot of pixilated images of his mass. If you’re going to have a manga called ‘My Balls!’, at least make it a hentai and go all out! Then I would actually be able to review it by that standard and it wouldn’t be that bad. Sometimes the characters go off their profile making them look younger or older then they actually are and there are a lot of times I ended up grossed out by the artwork… more along the lines of just grossed out at the content though then the drawing style.

This manga is not for the weak at heart and younger readers. Hell, its not even for older readers. This manga is for the perverted, the sickos. I couldn’t even finish the damn manga because of how bad it was and this is coming from a girl that has reviewed some pretty bad stuff. I went through about half the series and pretty much dropped it because of how sick it was. I couldn’t handle it anymore.

I was forced to read this manga or else spoilers for various anime would be have been dropped, but having said this... I really enjoyed this manga. It is the first one I have completed and although there is a lot of... (for lack of a better term) fan-service(??) once you get past that it really is enjoyable.

The plot at first sounds absurd but it really is funny and had me quite interested throughout - I really enjoyed the characters as all of them were extremely likeable and hilarious. Visually it is great (but have little point of reference) and I generally enjoyed this ...

I saw the Wikipedia entry and mailed it to my friends as a joke, but then they started reading it. So then I was like, well if they're enjoying it...

I don't know how this gets away as 'ecchi', just because there's no detailed drawings of the lower genitalia.

It gets old after a while, but then a new priceless joke will pop up... and you keep reading. There's a level of depth in terms of an actual platonic relationship threatening to rise under all the sex going on, but I'll have to wait to the end to see how that ends.

When looking at title, synopsis or score, Oretama doesn't look really tempting. I'm sure many people are turned off by those without giving this masterpiece a try. Mind you, I didn't use the word "masterpiece" in sarcastic way here.
In this review I'll try to explain Oretama's awesomeness!

Let's start with genres. It says "Comedy, Demons, Ecchi, Romance, Seinen" and Oretama delivers exactly that: it obviously has demons, very cute and satisfying romance, hardcore/borderline hentai ecchi, some of the best comedy I've seen in a manga so far and it all in enjoyable seinen setting that allows to push stuff further than shounens.

This is a very different story compared to the normal manga, it is a hentai. It is not a harem as most might misjudge it as, but i would put it in the love triangle realm. In a nutshell, this is an over-the-top fanservice comedy that had me hooked in the early chapters but became repetitive and dull as I read on. The premise is simple, yet absurd and does a good job of setting up the potential for hilarity. I definitely wouldn't recommend reading this for the story as the plot and character development are generic as they come, although for this genre that's pretty forgivable.

Who would've thought that the concept of a romantic lewd comedy could actually work.

It's basically hentai but it has a very good story. Normally a series with so many ecchi scenes would be considered in the hentai genre, but somehow the comedy and story completely steal the center stage and its almost like the ecchi stuff is just something on the side. The story, premise, and characters set up the jokes perfectly and they are hilarious. Harada-sensei has a way of writing that makes all of these elements that otherwise wouldn't fit together blend really well.
