Mother of god.
My first though when i heard of the first epside being subbed.
As i am reading the manga i don't want to do the "wait until the series is finished" so i started watching episode 1 straight away.
As a fan of the manga. I can proudly say.
I was NOT dissapointed!!!
...
It's the manga, redone in very nice visuals and with great voice actors that really fit their roles!! The music is great! There was even a remix of 28 days later!!! This is a very realistic portrait of a "would be" zombie apocalypse!
This must be the shortest review i've done but on all aspects this series goes gold for me. I sincirely hope this series will not fail! or fall into a censorship fest!
GO WATCH IT NOW!
Also. GO READ THE MANGA!!

I'll start off with that i have not read the visal novel. This will be a review from someone who just watched an anime adaption without knowledge to its origin. The other review scores on MAL for this anime is such a rollercoaster, you have to make a choice. Is this really worth it to watch? I enjoyed this anime more than i hated it, hence the low overall score. But there are many things about this anime that is good if you count it as "another anime" and not an adaption.
I'll skip the intro and get to the points:
Story:
What appears to be a simple
...
murder mystery turns into a mind battle of lies and truth in death note style. As in higurashi, you have several scenarios. One person go crazy, kill all, then it restarts with another person etc. In umineko's case it works the same. Just that it gets more and more... crazy involvements and for each reset is a new game which needs to be solved. It's a witch vs. Man battle. Where the man will deny the existence of witches, while the witch want the man to aknowledge them. With lots of confusing back stories, flashbacks which makes you go "What the...?" Many times. It's confusing but there is thoughts behind it. It'll be a 7.
Art:
I don't understand why people slay this anime for it's "horrible" art. I think the art is one of the more beautifull i've seen. The art in the visual novel looks alot worse in my eyes(hence a reason why i don't want to play it). Sure all the females have big breasts except the little girl but i don't complain about that. But variaton in sizes is nice. I thought the art and details to environment, clothing, characters was gorgeous! A 9 from me here.
Sound:
I think most reviewers here will agree that the soundtrack in this anime is the strongpoint of it. I simply love the soundtracks, opening and ending! The music really sets the mood and i love how they put "cartoon" sounds into the funny moments. It really did give it a fuzzy charm. Another 9 from me!
Character:
I'll agree. It's quite a large cast in this anime. And only being 26 episodes not all the characters have a chance for a backstory. But everyone has their own unique reactions and decisions which makes it good. You have the annoying little girl who can turn crazy at times. The objection pointing protagonist. The tsundere witch who is also evil. There are many characters here and i liked most of them. But i just can't stand those guys who have classes and act all sexy and hero. Too bad there is one of those here. I think the characters are given just the right amount of screen time for their roles and importancy. And they all look nice! An 8 from me.
Enjoyment:
This is a hard one. I enjoyed this anime very much. It got a beautifull soundtrack and gorgeous art to follow! A very big cast of characters is both nice and confusing. The amount of going back in time, flashbacks, backstories can really get on a person's nerve. I think anyone who watches this will go "WTF?" at least once. As i am not sure where this stands i give enjoyment a 6. The amount of "good" enjoyment overweight the "bad" enjoyment.
To end this review i'd like to remind you reader. You don't need knowledge from the visual novel or mangas to enjoy this. You will get "WTF?" moments and you will get mind-raped. About the ending? It was an open one for sure. And i don't know if there will be a sequel. But in return for the mind-rape you will experience a very colourfull cast of characters, beautifull soundtrack and very nice visuals!
I recomend this if you like occult themes, blood, gore and violence, murder mystery, magic and mind battles. What will your decision be?

Oh man. I had so many good laughs with this one! My Balls is the most original thing i've ever read to this date. And i feel so sorry for the protagonist. Here is why:
So the whole thing starts when one night, our protagonist needs to take a pee. He finds a dark spot in a nearby park but by coincidence an angel was about to finish a spell to lock the demon queen of destruction inside a holy ball. Our protagonist happens to pee on that ball and the demon queen gets sealed inside his balls. So now, our virgin protagonist have the whole
...
mankind resting on his shoulders(or should i say balls?). If he is to ejaculate during masturbation or sex, the demon queen will be released and all humankind is doomed to destruction. He must endure a whole month. And that month happen to be his lucky month according to a fortune teller. Hell is aware of this and they will send countless of hot devils, each with their specialties. Maybe satan herself may step into this (yes, lucifer is a girl. According to the manga that is). But the first one to go is a young virgin minor devil who is tasked to make our protagonist ejaculate.
This is basicly a recipe of awesomeness. I am one for adult perverted humor and this manga features quite a lot of fetishes so it's something for everyone! The drawings are excellent and the whole setup was comfortable and easy to keep up with. The characters are funny and have unique personalities. And there is a nice balance of dialogue, drama and the ecchi/fanservice. Not too much of any and the pace is great.
If you like hentai/ecchi in general you won't be dissapointed with this one! I had a great joy reading this and i think any fellow pervert would enjoy it as well. Funny, sexy and a sorry protagonist who have the worst task in the world!

After an epic final in the first season which left me stunned. I was expecting the second season to slow down and turn more romantic. Found out i am right, but the mercantile stuff is still going strong and there is even a merchant duel on par with death note quality. Backstabbing and market values etc. It all returns in its great glory!
At start, the first episode gave me an impression of "Hmm... it's turned soft." But at the same time it was nice too see the cute side of our heroes. But it doesn't take long before they leave the town in episode 2
...
and move out. That is when i got the magic feeling as i had when watching season 1! The gorgeous nature scenery returns as does the merchant drama. But this season also focuses on the relationship between our heroes, there are more frequent blushes and silly episodes. Towards the end it was all going out of hand and i litteraly begged for a good ending!
The story in this one is a continuation, there is no episodic feel to this series. Each episode flows nicely and the plot twists never stop to surprise you. Although it's not as epic as the first season, it's a good one which manages to keep the same magic feeling you had during season 1.
Art is even more polished in this so this can only be better than season 1. Nature scenery is gorgeous and characters are drawn well. They have managed to keep the unique personalities and showing us new sides of them which we didn't get in season 1.
Sound effects is improved. Furious door bashing that made me turn my head around to see if it was my door. The music in this one borrows many of the same songs from first season, but some new ones are there which is nice for a change. The opening is slow paced like the first one but more beautifull than epic. Ending song is also good.
As for characters. They have the same voice actors which is a big relief. Unlike other animes where the cast and studio is changed which ruins everything. The characters turn to their soft sides more often now and even the wolf girl seems weak sometimes. Characters are deep and lovable. And the male protagonist is still an idiot sometimes.
I enjoyed this almost as much as season 1. I felt like i was watching the same anime but in season 2 there is many changes, but those are changes done in a way that it felt just like season 1. Something you RARELY find in anime sequels, which tend to turn worse than the first season.
The characters returns to themselves and seing a cute relationship unfold is always nice. The merchant drama, marked values, mercantile stuff also returns, although it's relationship that is the big focus this time. All in all this was an excellent sequel which didn't dissapoint! The first episode was a letdown as i watched this in a marathon. I was still pumped and excited from the ending of season 1. But don't let the first episode fool you, season 2 turns great already on the next episode!

I'll try and avoid going into fanboy mode because this anime turned out to be my best watch ever!
In a nutshell; A traveling merchant, after visiting a town to buy some wheat from. Happen to find out that a girl have snuck into his cart. But this is no ordinary girl. She is the wolf godess of harvest in her human form. After turn of events and bargains they accompany each other to an adventure that will take them to several cities and alot of drama!
In my opinion. Medieval times with a focus on mercantile like open market, coin values, trading and haggling just can't
...
go wrong. And this anime executed it very well. Quite an original story line, using an unoriginal plot. Guy meet godess. It's done before but this is out of the ordinary. There is no 5 meter long sword or fire balls or dragons, this is quite a "real" medieval world. The church do taxes for many things and are one of the big powers. Trade guilds compete with each other etc. It's so many good things packed into one punch. And to be a short anime of 13 episodes, it really felt like i watched a 26 episode anime. I'm amazed how much they were able to put into 13 episodes!
The art is very good. People are drawn good, especially main characters and important minors. But sometimes background audience looks like paper figures which kinda ruins it but at least they are not a big bunch of black blobs. You can see that there are humans there. And when our heroes are not in a town and traveling, you have a gorgeous nature scenery and the cities and buildings are drawn very good. The world is not too bright but not to dark either, they did nice colouring on this.
Sound effects are good, i can't recall any specific but the music in S&W is amazing! The music managed to put you in the right mood and the opening theme gave the the goose bumps everytime! The ending was a nice little brake from the intense episodes.
Characters have details on them and each character is unique, how the protagonist have grey eyes and hair and a brown leather jacket and being soft hearted yet the greed of a merchant and how he must balance those and find out if he is in love her or the money. How the wolf girl have red eyes, fangs and orange/white fur and being selfish but helpful at the same time. And they also have unique personalities which was a joy. The voice actors did a great job on the characters. You get a great connection to the characters and i found them all likeable, although the male protagonist is a idiot sometimes. Which can result in facepalm moments or "Damnit! why didn't you do it?".
As for enjoyment. This was amazing! As mentioned this turned out to be one of my favorite animes and best marathon watches i've done! You have plot twists and drama on par of death note quality. The art is very well done although some background characters turn to paper. The music score in this is amazing as well! The opening makes me want to cry but it has that hidden joy in the song which prevents me from doing so. Characters are deep and great! Each one of them is unique and how they react and handle in situations is interesting. You get tied closely to the characters and you can feel them when something happens.
If medieval times is a thing for you, like games or just stories. You should definately check Spice and Wolf out. This is not a fantasy medieval world with swords, fireballs, elves and dragons. You have normal people in a harsh and realistic medieval world where the church collect the biggest taxes for helping the poor and trade leagues competing and how easy it is to be backstabbed or tricked into a trap if you are careless and how valuable it is to have a guild or friends to run when things go really bad. Trading, haggling and market value is a big part of the anime but it's done interesting. If economics is a thing for you this will be a great bonus. The relationship between the male protagonist and wolf girl is a slow one but it's there. There is alot of dialogues so if you enjoyed animes like death note, you will love this i'm sure of it!

May not be suitable for minors
-------------------------------------
Momiji is one of those "Maid who serves her master" hentai, usually filled with torture, BDSM and abusing. While Momiji features BDSM, it's only for a little while. It's mostly abusal and public sex. So if BDMS & torture is a turn off don't look away this one yet. Just skip it as there is no story telling going on at all in this.
7 minutes into this and you get a good picture of what you are about to get into. We meet Momiji, a girl lacking a will of her own who have accepted to be one of Kazuto's
...
maids. Kazuto is the lord and owner of a mansion where he have several maids at his disposal. All of the maids wants a piece of him but Momiji gets most of his attention. So mainly what this whole hentai is about is Kazuto abusing the poor, brain washed girl Momiji as his sex doll to enjoy his fetish to have sex in public areas. There is that comedy character put in to make it funny but it's a poor addition in my opinion.
Although it's lacking a story, the backgrounds and characters are decent. Surprisingly for a hentai, the underwear is well detailed and nice to look on. Usually in hentai the underwear is plain with no details on it, so it's nice with a change. The art quality is kinda stiff and pointy but it has that 90's feel to it. Genitals are shown in their glory with nice details but the "rod" is simple.
Sex is repetive. Guy dresses his girl up for his tastes, takes her to a public place like school or carneval, abuses girl by molesting her before he takes his position and end it with a pie or load. It's the same thing over and over with little variations like diferent girls, other positions and areas. I found this to be good for a few watches but it is easily replaced by better hentais out there.
If slave and master relationship with public sex and BDSM thrown in is your cup of tea don't leave this one out. Nice details like variated underwear and different girls for all tastes makes this worth a watch.

May not be suitable for minors (This is hentai after all. Adult stuff, not for minors!)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Karakuri Ninja Girl is one of those hentai series that don't really have a plot(which hentai does anyway?). But focuses on comedy instead. And that is what this show basicly is: A funny lighthearted erotic comedy about a couple who enjoys sex indoor and outdoor, being watched and just wanting to live their happy dream in the city.
"La Blue Girl" comes into mind, as it also has ninjas and sex in it. but don't worry. Karakuri Ninja Girl is not hardcore and does not feature tentacles or rape or anything
...
of that type. Karakuri Ninja Girl features boy on girl action and a bit of threesome and girl on girl action. The sex is creative, as the main characters are all ninjas, and have the ability cast various spells that enhances their actions. All from summoning a dildo to increases penetration speed and even turning a girl on. Breasts are shown in it's glory. But genitals are censored, or shown in unnatural forms as for example all shiny, black cloud or even a giant mushroom. There is no focus on the action "down there". But rather on the surface which helps with the comedy involved in the sex scenes.
As for visuals, it's early 90's quality. Kinda like Trigun. But the 90's animation quality is awesome for facial expressions which can be mad funny. And overall the art is good for it's time. Breasts and faces are nice to look at. Most hentai series don't have a high budget so quality tend to be low but for Karakuri Ninja Girl it is good. Bright colors provide a relaxed atmosphere and fits with the comedy focus of the series.
As for the sound and music. It's nothing special. You have the classical kunai throw, jump, slash, run, detection sound effects and the music in the background is oriental japanese inspired like those you would find in most ninja related stuff. The voice actors do their roles very well. Mika Kanai does a really good job as the voice for Suzuka(never thought she had voiced in a hentai, but it was great).
The characters are easy to recognise and unique for example Suzuka is blonde and Sagiri is red haired. Suzuka is a cute and childish character and Sagiri is more mature and adult, but still is a but childish. Tsukikage is your average simple minded hentai protagonist who enjoys girls and sex and overreacts to situations. The characters are simple but enjoyable to watch as they engange in various actions. Nothing deep or serious is involved with the characters.
All in all. Karakuri Ninja Girl is a funny, sexy vanilla hentai that makes fun of Sailor moon and focuses on comedy and sexyness rather than pleasure. Which means it does not focus on a certain fetish/fetishes. There is no tentacles, rape, torture etc. Breats are shown but genitals are censored. It's an erotic comedy with bright colors and characters which gives you a relaxed feeling with no worries about what may happen next. It's a good watch but with its shortness of 2 episodes only do not expect a great story plot with amazing twists. This is hentai. And a funny one it is! This is a great watch which will make you laugh, if not, giggle at least!
