Both manga with magical girls, but both aren't your typical happy cheerful manga à la Nanoha or Pretty Cure. Both manga are dark, it seek out the cruel things people does to survive in extreme situation. Yet the main character tries to remain pure with all the cruelties.

Narrative and character tropes in these two titles are basically the same. One could argue that Mahou Shoujo of the End is HotD with "zombie" magical girls.

Essentially, survival becomes a prominent aspect as our main characters' lives changes and they find themselves in danger of been wiped out. There' a distinctive amount of brutal violence from both series to show the readers the grim reality of their story. Among other things, mystery/suspense also revolves the origins of some of the supernatural beings our main characters encounters in both series.

Notoriously known for their horror and zombie elements, both series appeals to a survival horror story. The main characters realizes that their lives are not normal after we see drastic events in the first few chapters. There is also a source of mystery regarding the origins of both series' storytelling. Both series consists a diverse character cast as we learn more about them as the story progresses.

Starts off fairly normal when something out of the ordinary appears and shatters the normalcy of the main character's life. Cue pandemonium.

The beginning of the first chapter was practically identical to Kamisama no Iutoori in regards to the school setting and the main character feeling the boredom of life and hoping for something exciting.....and then the teacher explodes and almost everyone in the classroom follow the same fate. However, it doesn't have that zombie aspect and end of the world apocalypse feeling to it that M.S.o.t.E does. Another point of similarity is that they don't camouflage the blood. The story had a lot in common after I read the first chapter, but the differing drawing styles has an effect on my perception of the seriousness of  read more

Both are gorey, end-of-the-world horror manga that begin inside a school shortly before the tragedy begins. There's even a crossover one shot.

Both have to deal with zombies with some scifi elements.

They're both stuck in similar dystopia situation. Real account's world: a very deadly digital world and Mahou Shoujo of the End's world: mahou shoujos destroying everything in sight. Its a bloody gore party alright. Every weak and strong characters are dead in mercilessness.

Both Manga don't waste time to introduce violence and gore.

Graphic violence and very cool/unique art

Both portrays twisted magicals girls and some extreme violence. There’s also some sexual themes and jokes, and the artwork is kind of similar.

Both are apocalyptic survival horror manga depicting scenes of great brutality as our group of heroes attempt to save the day. They both have art styles that complement the story that is being told. Villains have fantastic designs. Both main characters are given the opportunity to save people multiple times.

Both are about a "Zombie" invasion, except they're actually magical girls and giant insects. They’re also similar in their way of portraying weird ass monsters, all in the same apocalyptic setting. Because of that, there’s obviously lots of gore. If you read them both, you’ll see that everyone dies, even the ones you thought would become main characters. Also, later in the story, they share one particular SF element.

Both of these deconstruct magical girl genre by making magical girls the ones being the monsters - be it in a literal or metaphorical sense.

Both stories start with students at school when suddenly they are thrown into an apocalyptic situation, in which we watch a small group of students try to survive. In Infection the problem being zombie-like creatures and in Mahou Shoujo of the End, it is a magical girl invasion. Mahou Shoujo of the End is definitely more violent, shows more gore and features less ecchi content but does have a few mature moments/nudity. While infection tends to be more lighthearted and have a happy tone, Mahou Shoujou of the End tends to be darker but still has a few light moments here and there.

The character are lovable, different, and even relatable to keep the story going. It starts off normal then turns into something else. Not for the weak stomach due to VERY graphic violence.

Mahou shoujo of the end and I am a Hero both involve Zombies Apocalypse as the main theme. If you looking for more developed story, i recommend I am a Hero for you. But if you looking for an unique Zombie apocalypse, and some fanservice, i think Mahou shoujo of the end fits you.

Both manga contain gore and deaths. Both have childhood friends that are hiding secrets. Both have live or die situations.

Both mangas have to do with overpowered little girls hell bent on destroying humanity.

Both are about seriously messed up magical girls with a hidden agenda. Kazumi Magica is a bit light-hearted as Mahou Shoujo of the Dead is extremely gruesome and guro. The two are both cruel and startling, but Kazumi has a much deeper plot. Both also have really cute art.

Another gory and creepy as shit series. Both are about the same level of quality. Mahou Shoujo though feels more like Dawn of the Dead though to be honest. But they both kill off anyone they want to really. You don't really feel safe about anyone.
reportRecommended by DarkD1
They are self-parodies and deconstructive mangas. Both try to being serious but that make them even more funny.
reportRecommended by BlindNoldor
Although not entirely similar in content, both series features dangerous girls that are considered a threat to society. They are ostracized as they are considered too dangerous. Both series has a dark theme that is surrounded by mysteries regarding the origins of these girls. Both series has horror themes as well as violence and gore. They also contain a plot that gets darker and darker as each chapter progresses. From the beginning chapter, the main male protagonist's life changes forever in both series.

Bizarre manga that starts with an interesting idea, and continues to develop this idea into a much grander plot that goes on to gradually change the scale to universal level as fate of the whole world comes into question.

Post-apocalyptic story with derranged characters and weird, grotesque enemy design.

Both manga are survival, but Btooom is where people are sent to an island and have to kill each other to survive
