Done by the same Mangaka and pretty much identical in art and other things, but is a completely different theme from Yankee but is enjoyable regardless.

If you have a liking for comedic school-based situations involving delinquents, then you have to check both of these series out. Not only do they provide really funny moments, but the main characters are pretty badass.

A colorful character works to better the lives of the equally colorful students (read: delinquents) throughout their high school years. Hana and Yankumi are both ridiculously strong women (with a big tie to the Yakuza) who comes to a new school with a purpose (one as a class rep, other as a teacher) to let go of their previous identities and become a role model of society. Both become involved in many things from solving a student's problem to making the best school festival ever. By doing so, they shake up the whole school, changing misfit students' lives forever. But delinquents will be delinquents, (even if they quit,  read more

The premise of both series is similar in the sense that they revolve around school situations that are often comedic in nature. Characters also share the same purpose - that is, to help out students.

A male delinquent takes on a leadership roll and becomes responsible for the well being of his class and his school. Tho he means well people still see him as a delinquent and try to get in his way... lifes not so simple even when you dont fallow the rules

Ok, if you like the manga Again!!? I think you will also love Yankee-Kun to Megane-Chan. The male mc's of these series are similar in certain ways - the boys are blond delinquent looking characters who fall for a girl who is in a school club and join it so they can be with her but don't really confess or become romantic, at least not for a good long time. The comedy in both mangas is first rate and really really funny. The themes are different - one has to do with coming back and  read more

Yoshikawa Miki was an assistant of Mashima Hiro when he was makin' Groove Adventure Rave, so that's what can see the evident influence that she got from him: The surprised faces, gags and the style of drawing (Macchi looks like Natsu for example) Natsu, Gray and Erza are like the yankees in Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (Adachi, Shinagawa and Izumi), and there are someone who has common sense (Lucy & Chiba), they are in an Organitation who helps people with troubles (Fairy Tail Guild, and the Student Council) Both mangakas, likes to draw werid characters (for example, the sun-face of Rave Ichiya, the girlfriends of Nerima  read more

A tsukomi MC surrounded by a bunch of dumb characters. Same kind of situations, same kind of humor.

These two publications feature characters that are trying to stray away from their past. Both involve themselves in clubs as a way to gain a better reputation.

Somehow they are similar. Two (more than) weird students who get into the student president council and have odd ways of dealing with the school's troubles. Both have comedy and in both the boy is in love with the girl and the girl is just different from everyone else.

Gintama and Yankee-kun presents comedy with a lot of gimmicks with fun details. The main characters from both series gets involved with many bizarre events. Although their setting takes place in different timelines, both series cleverly uses them to their full advantage. There is also considerable amount of characterization as we learn about the people involved in their story. Recommended for anyone seeking for some laughter.

both mangas have a delinquent and a class rep. The yankee guy was dragged by the class rep to enjoy school more. The class rep are both crazy[well they do unrealistic things that brought a lot of humor].. and when I saw fujimura-kun mates manga, the first thing that comes to my mind is yankee-kun to megane-chan..^^

This was originally a recommendation for the one shot that began Nisekoi, the one shot has been merged into a series of one shots anyway if you liked Yankee Kun I think you will like the one shot that started the other series. It is a comedy about yakuza and gangsters so if you like comedy or delinquent stories I think you will enjoy. It is a new one shot and series in Jump. Both the main guy and girl are top students but they fight a lot - she is much tougher than him. Their families want them to date to  read more

Both mangas deal with school hijinks and embody similar comedic delivery.

they both have something to do with delinquents but yasuko and kenji is more light hearted the yankee-kun to megane-chan and they both deal with hiding thier identity about being delinquents so if you like one you will surely enjoy the other^_^

The characters in both are very similar, in yankee-kun the main female character was a famous delinquent who wants to change her image in highschool looking like a book nerd who is very quiet, she also aims to get into the top university in tokyo with her friends. Sakurasaku the main female character is a karate girl with below average grades who wants to work really hard to get into her dream high school so she can be in the same highschool as her crush. In both the main male fall in love with these rough girls and feel they want to be with them  read more

What if Ichigo didn't get involved in any supernatural events and continues his life as a normal high school student? There we have Yankee-kun to Megane-chan! Shinagawa really reminds me of Ichigo, not just because both are delinquents, but their character design & personalities are also quite similar. They also have friends with unique personalities that will make you love both series more. If you liked the high school side in Bleach, you might like Yankee-kun to Megane-chan as well!

If you Enjoy Aho Girl you will likely enjoy Yankee-kun to Megane-Chan. Some of the similarities are: Unintelligent female lead, smart MC, MC finds the female character difficult to deal with at times, etc. Some of the differences are that the main character of Yankee-kun to Megane-chan is a delinquent (with terrible grades) and the Main character from Aho Girl is a straight A student. Another big difference is that Aho Girl is a 4-koma and Yankee-kun to Megane-chan isn't a 4-koma manga.

Both manga's protagonists are not very smart and are generally unskilled but have a strong desire to help others. Both manga also focus on the friends the protagonists make and the relationships between them all. Adachi and Machida (the protagonists of each manga) also start out fairly lonely before meeting their group of friends. (also, not really worth noting, but both protagonists wear glasses)

Yana to Mizu is hentai while Yan to Mega is a romcom, I absolutely loved both, their titles are so similar, these two gave me a tug in the heart. Yana to Mizu gave a quick result. Yan to Mega is a bit stretched, but the funny moments are really worth the read. I hope you'll like it too :) Enjoy

so many escalations and so many jokes, weird birds flying everywhere. XD

Lonesome boy met lonesome girl and they somehow decide to stick together to have fun and make friends. Adam looks a lot like Shinagawa, reliable and friendly, while Oska is as hilariously funny and scary as Adachi. Add to that a bunch of senseless situations and quite a funny herd of foe and fellow (like the little and cute Hachi/Rinka or the handy Tarou/Izumi). Quite similare art and plot except the lack of supernatural/fantasy in Yankee-kun to megane-chan. Two good and funny reading.

The main girl also wears glasses, and when she takes them off she changes. Aside from that she has a group of close friends who all have strong fighting abilities.

Both Sukeban Deka and Yankee-kun to Megane-chan have delinquent heroines who are good at fighting. Their tones are very different though- the difference between the 80s and the 00s. Despite the heroine of Sukeban Deka living by a code and trying to dispense justice, the body count around her is sky high as those she cares for are murdered or betray her one after another. Yankee-kun to Megane-chan owes more to shonen than shoujo and focuses more on nakama and other Shonen Jump approved themes. If you enjoy Yankee-kun to Megane-chan, you might enjoy taking a time machine to the past to see where delinquent  read more

Different premise but both have a similar feeling when it comes to its characters. In fact, both series have a colorful cast of characters that all attend classes for a variety of reasons. The main male protagonist has some influence throughout both series and often gets involved with events relating with other characters. There is a decent amount of comedy present with its dialogues and character interactions. Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom) has an additional element of supernatural while Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (Mr. Delinquent and Miss Glasses) adapts more of a slice of life tone. Yet, both series has a goal relating to their premise.
reportRecommended by Stark700
They two are stories about a girl who was once delinquent and now is trying to be a normal girl with "normal" student life. They two are comedies and have martial arts in it.

While their plots are very different, they're humor is very similar. Both feature strong female leads who constantly surprise the men around them. And lots and lots and lots of over-the-top, but hilarious, facial expressions.
reportRecommended by adamantine
Although Prunus Girl is a gender bender manga, what makes this so much similar to Yankee-kun to Megane-chan are the protagonists and the same kind of humor portrayed. Both male leads are often being dragged into weird and troublesome, yet hilarious situations by the female leads and in the case of Prunus girl, a cross-dresser. Both are really funny mangas, with very likable characters and plots that just leave you wanting more.
reportRecommended by yunadestined
Both involve two guys who are being forced to do things they would never do by weird girls who just really want to help them.
reportRecommended by BlindSpot101
Both series are highly comedic school series about delinquents with a great deal of fighting, a moderate amount of studying, and a rather hefty character roster for the chapter count.
reportRecommended by lithiumflower
The two series feature female characters who are feared and are in an attempt to turn over a new leaf. As previous delinquents, they are trying hard to maintain more positive personalities.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
If you enjoyed how Megane-chan dragged Yankee-kun in her escapades, then you will enjoy Choku! It is similar in that the male lead is inadvertently dragged into funny situations by an overenthusiastic female.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
The two series feature badass characters who do not involve themselves in doing bad deed, rather they are working towards creating a better environment for them and others. Onizuka in GTO and the majority of the student council members in Yankee-kun to Megane-chan are themselves been delinquents in the past.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both of these series have this stupid, ridiculous humor that doesn't really make any sense and normally you'd hate but for some strange reason you find yourself laughing your butt off. Seriously. Other than that, they both deal with high schools and strong female leads.

Tough guy + crazy cute girl = "how did i get into this?!" From what i remember, Hot Milk is more on the old school/ecchi side, but hey - I'm not complaining.

Hana Adachi gets people together regardless of whether they like each other or not, and Shinagawa Daichi likes a girl who he does not realize is Hana Adachi. In Beauty Pop, the same thing happens, and it is also entertaining to read. May not be up the level of this manga, but yo'll probably like it.

The characters relationship really reminded me of Yankee-kun to Megan-chan. They are full of laughter, romance, and fighting! :P

Boy meets girl at high school entrance exam -> Boy falls in love with the girl ->A braided, glasses girl becomes close with the boy ->Boy frantically searches for the girl he met at the exam ->Boy finds out that the braided, glasses girl is in fact the girl he fell in love with.

Both series defamiliarises the familiar by focusing on delinquents, former or not, and twisting them in a way that they become catalyts for comedy.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
They are not very similar.. but they are both stories about some strange student council president and its assistants. :) And both are in comedy and school manga genres.

both are stories about high schools and delinquents and how the delinquents change and fall in love

if u love ridiculous comedy with funny expressions go for either one....onidere is focused more on romance though ...and it might take a few chapters to get used to onidere's style, but once u get used to it ull LOVE it

Entire cast of yankees. A whole lot of brawls, but Kyou kara is all about brawls, yankee-kun is a mixture of brawls and school life. Outrageous comedy. Long, 23 vs 38 volumes
