Both manga have a main girl character who is energetic and funny. They also both feature a trouble making boy in the class who initially hates the main girl. They both revolve around school and have their comedy along with dramatic moments.

as i read the first few chapter of GA, it does resembles Kodocha in some ways except for the ALice or powers of course, the main Guy on both series have this absurd & cold personality & loves to tease the main heroine at first, but later, the main heroine is the one who becomes the reason why they change for good.
&& also its kinda cute to see a kid's pure LOVE <3 isn't it? :)

Expect a nice blend of comedy, drama, and romance from these two stories.

Character-wise: The main characters are quite similar-->
Both girls first did not like the trouble-making guy (basically because they could control their monkey classroom with just a cold demeanor), so they stand up and eventually try to bring happiness to them. These guys start falling in love with her compassion and doing what they can to protect her. (Moreso for Kodomo than Gakuen Alice, probably because G.A. focuses on more supporting characters)

A wonderful girl with a blossoming young love from a boy in the class... Smell the moe-flowers blooming in the air, right? WRONG.

Not only do their relationships face amazing drama/tragedy (away from the cute-cute-moe-young-child relationship that was first expected) , but their plots altogether move away from the "same old, same old" story into an awe-inspiring manga.

You will laugh, you will cry, and you follow their road seeing what is right & wrong in the world. These characters may appear like cute children, which they look like for the most part, but they also face an difficult path of action and/or reality.

Both are these mangas are fully recommended, as they are wonderful stories that would just pull you in. [Although I pointed out the similarities plot-wise, their stories are VERY different & highly original] read more

The main characters are really similar Mikan and Sana Akito and Nastume Ruca and Tsunayoshi (sorta) and then they have a bunch of crazy classmates also there is more than meets the eye for both of the mangas and they interestingly develop as it goes on I LOVE BOTH OF THEM

the mangas are just sooo similar..
Sana/Mikan-The cheerfulness, both dont have real parents,both helped a  boy,then fall in love in the boy...
Akito/Natsume-both of them were bad in the beginning,because of their pasts,but they were healed from a girls,then fall in love
Luka/Nao-well nao is not akitos best friend like luka and natsume,but they both give up on their love for the other boys and always support the girls
Iinchou/tsuyoshi-err..the glasses xD, i don't know but they are really similar
etc etc all the romance,comedy,drama,tears everything is so similar and awesome I fell inlove in both mangas

The main girls are almost exactly the same, except one has magic powers and the other one has acting skills. Natsume and Akito are both cold with dark pasts but get influenced by the main girl, and fall in love with her. Akito shows more feeling than Natsume does, but both are about as sweet on the inside.
Both series start off in the same way, with a girl who is in a rowdy class but then she challenges the leader and defeats him. The girl starts off with a really bad impression of him, but that changes when she learns more about him.
Both have love triangles between the main girl, a cold guy (Akito/Natsume), and a nice guy (Luka/Naozumi), but it's obvious who she's going to end up with.
Both series are about kids in the same age group, and have the similar theme of "adults are just humans and therefore are not always right".
Gakuen Alice is fantasy while Kodocha is slice of life. read more

"Middleschool" setting. An over the top female MC and an seemingly laid back male MC with a crushing backstory, who has a tendancy to bully the female MC (but can be very caring and supporting when needed).
Hate turned to love relationship.
Lighthearted series with a dark touch.
(Comedy, Shoujo, School, Romance, Drama)

Both main characters have PIGTAILS. (but the hairstyle changes XD) Both female and male main characters have EXTREMELY similar personalities. Both started off fluffy but gets dark later on. Both have romance, although, Kodomo no Omocha focuses, just a tiny bit more, on romance than with Gakuen Alice. AND BOTH ARE AMAZING.

I find Hyuuga Natsume very similar to Sohma Kyo. Abused, an outcast (in a way), and "different." Also, they're rude at first, but later on, they softened up and changed in various ways. Sakura Mikan is also quite similar to Honda Tohru. An airhead, and simple-minded. She's also the "key" or the "cure" to Natsume (in Fruits Basket, Tohru was Kyo's cure). Of course, I wouldn't leave Nogi Ruka behind. He's similar to Sohma Yuki because he's gentle and admirable. He and Natsume are opposites, like Yuki and Kyo are, although the relationship between Kyo and Yuki is nowhere near Ruka and Natsume's.

The heroines, Mikan (in GA) and Tohru (in Furuba) are both natural airheads, yet they try their absolute hardest to succeed in whatever they do and are the "hope" of everybody around them. They're hard people to hate and even if someone in the story disliked them at first, they end up liking them. Both girls fall for (and eventually get) the guy who caused them the most trouble but who also has always been there for her, despite being the cliche tsundere type.

Both start out as light, comedic and heartwarming, and evolve into very dark-toned and serious plots that keep pulling you in for more. The stories both focus on supernatural aspects, as well as tragedy, behind which are the big bosses who control everything. 

They have very bittersweet endings, but for spoiler reasons I won't say why or how. Both will have you reaching for the tissue box, though, I promise. read more

Despite all these similarities, these series still distinguish themselves as their own! I love both stories, so definitely check it out if you're interested!

In the beginning of both mangas, it starts off all nice, but there's more to it. They get into more deeper topics. Not to mention, the female main character for both of the mangas are very similar personality wise. Both, in my opinion are very good mangas. Both mangas display problems that occur real life. PFFT, they're just really alike trust me, I feel like a robot trying to write this.

Similar leading characters, an innocent, sweet, but spunky girl, and a boy who is mean to her at first, but then starts to fall for her. Also both feature elementary aged kids, and darker underlying themes. Finally both are magical girl type stories (but Gakuen Alice is more of a school drama), and both have an emphasis on special (or magical) children.

Since Gakuen Alice is over, you're probably looking for a new fix. Boku no Hero Academia is a shounen manga about a boy who gained superpowers and thus, got into a school for superheroes. "Why would you recommend a shounen manga to shoujo readers?" Because it's pretty good and it has kids with powers, isn't that why we liked Gakuen Alice in the first place? The excitement of a different world, an elite school, the Alices, and the battles and struggles of Mikan Sakura against the evil principal. Although there's no love interests yet in BnoHA, it's still worth a look. Bonus points that might convince you even more: Bakugou is kind of like Natsume because he has fire power, it's interesting how he'll turn out. read more

..in gakuen alice, students possess diff. kinds of alices and they're not allowed to go outside the school with a strong barrier w/ it, as well as in Love monster students are gathered in a school who are monsters..
[how is this both similar?  they're stuck up in one school because they're diffrent from ordinary humans and so why they're gathered up in a school]

Both titles tell about young girls (around 10) that get involved with magic affairs.
They include drama, comedy, romance and school life.
I also saw some similarities between Natsume and Ikuto (they even have the same "nickname", The Black Cat).
Both are great and worth reading..if you liked/loved one you'll surely enjoy the other.

Similar guy and girl protagonists - the guy is cool and aloof and the girl is dense and clumsy. The guy is best friends with a blondie and both guys end up liking the girl. The main guy treats the girl badly but blondie is very friendly. The girl only realises her feelings later in the story.

Both protagonists are similar in that they worry about those around them more than about themselves as well as the enemies at times. At first, they both were considered to be at the bottom of their abilities (voice acting/magic) and were useless but in the future their ability shows to be more promising than others thought.

Even though both plots are different, they still somehow feel similar to each other in that they are both heartwarming. Gakuen Alice is about a girl and her friends at a school for people with powers, while Seiyuu is about a girl moving toward her dream as a seiyuu.

If you like the story base on the Heroine and their power or family background mysterious you'll like these 2 
Vampire knight is about vampires while Gakuen is about elementary school kids with powers.

i'm surprised no one has put Gakuen Alice yet as a reccomendation. Shinshi Doumei Cross and Gakuen Alice has quite a lot of Similarities. They are both set in an Academy setting. They also have ranks, in Gakuen Alice it would be Stars but in Shinshi doumei cross they have like Golds, Silver, and Coppers. They both first look like a normal shoujo, but later on have their own plot twist. I Guess if  i should make similar characters Haine=Mikan
                Shizumasa=Natsume 
                Ushio= Hotaru
well the characters are not that similar, but one thing is that the relationship between Hotaru with Mikan and Ushio with Haine is really similar.(only some differences that's quite disturbing to me)
Also the one big difference is Shinshi Doumei Cross doesnt have magic but Gakuen Alice does.. In Shinshi doumei cross its more about like royalty somehow
So if you like Gakuen Alice i think you might like Shinshi Doumei Cross.

  Tears, Teamwork, and Lies. Both these manga includes a group of people who are put together for a reason. Do they know what's happening? Not really, but they'll figure it out. Both manga are like puzzles, because the pieces fit together at the end. 2 thumbs up for both.

The main character in both manga is cheerful and strong while the male character creates a bad impression on the girl but changes throughout the manga. They also have a group of friends that are all very close and they are both set in school but Rockin Heaven is based in high school.

At a first glance, comparing JSHK to Gakuen Alice might seem like a stretch, but these two mangas share a surprising amount of core values and aesthetics.

Gakuen Alice is more Slice-of-Life and JSHK goes straight into the adventure, but both take a similar approach in how the stories are developed into something darker and more meaningful, while still carrying the lightheartedness from their early days - most notably due to the fact that the main cast are elementary/middle schoolers, respectively.

The main pairing mirror each other in dynamic, a teasing and mysterious guy vs naive yet optimistic girl who wants to learn more about them. Mikan from GA and Nene from JSHK go through similar developments and have similar life lessons to learn, so their internal storylines are alike, but the guys are very different on the inside, as their identities are deeply rooted in the external storyline. Gakuen Alice is an older shoujo, so Natsume is more of a mean bully (at first!), whereas Hanako-kun is just mischievous. Both have love triangles, but it has more presence in GA.

Gakuen Alice has a magic system that is used & explored by the characters throughout the story. Their quirks are fun to watch and gives insight into who they are as a person. It's a tool to make the story more vibrant as the characters uncover the mysteries in the school.
JSHK is based around spirits and gods, but the worldbuilding is MUCH more detailed, and the story is about uncovering those secrets hidden in the world that goes well beyond the school grounds.
Both are done well, just used on different levels (micro vs macro) as writing tools.

All in all, Gakuen Alice is more old-school adventure fantasy, and Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun is more modern, but both are masterpieces that you must read if you like the other. read more

Even though both heroines make mistakes, they try their best and slowly gain control over their power. Their both courageous even though they are still young. The overall mood of the mangas are still cheerful yet can get pretty serious at times.

Both girls are really.. derpy? Well, in both manga, the girls go to a school for a certain subject, for example: in GA, its magic/talents, in YP its making pastries. The schools involve magic. Both are shoujo. In both manga, the girl meets the top student at the school, and are treated badly by them at first. As time goes on, they get really good at the things they do in their school. Plus, the girls have pigtails.

Both manga have underlying storylines where multiple people close to the main heroine protect her by keeping secrets from her. The female protagonists (Mikan in GA and Teru in DD) are both very thoughtful, intelligent, and often do things that are unexpected in shoujo manga. Both titles use the tragedy tags quite well, though there is considerably more in GA, mixed in with fantasy and magic.

Ultimately, they're both really great shoujo manga, sometimes having the same feeling of dread or mystery, and definitely psychological aspects that make you want to burst out in tears. GA is 180 chapters while DD is 75 :)

Both stores focus on grade school children with special powers; trying to unravel the mysteries surrounding their parents.
It just my opinion but to me "Boku wo Tsutsumu wo Tsuki no Hikari" is superior in both storytelling and art.

P.S. It's best to read the prequel "Boku no chikyuu wo mamotte" before reading "Boku wo Tsutsumu wo Tsuki no Hikari".

Gifted individuals with special abilities. Railgun and Gakuen Alice not only has a main female protagonist who has a special ability but also by their own nature to be themselves and easily make friends with others. As such, both series explore their lives at an academy where students are trained to learn more about their skills. There is a decent amount of comedy but at the same time also more complex plot twists as the stories draws out. Among many things, the main female protagonist faces challenges like she has never before. I recommend Railgun and Gakuen Alice to anyone interested in a series that deals with ordinary people with extraordinary powers. read more

While reading, I always thought about Natsume when Teru apeared. also- that love triangle is so similar to the love triangle in Gakuen Alice.
But I liked Mikan more than Sumino. She is much stronger and much more funny.
The comedy in both of them is similar and really amusing.

They are both mahou shoujo~ XD

They both center around magical powers and romance, and later, drama.

Also, the main protagonists are similar in personality. Both Mikan and Karin are outgoing, and happy with their friends. Well, until a boy comes around, everything changes. In Gakuen Alice, where it's Natsume, a boy with a mysterious past. While in Kamichama Karin, it's Kazune, who also is somewhat mysterious as you go further into the story.

They both have foreshadows about what has happened, and we later realize that they greatly impact the whole manga itself; the manga would never really have "existed" if these incidents never had happened.

This is very similar in the way that they both revolve around young students with exceptional talents and their adventures! There is also a romance going on between the main characters. Overall it gives off the same vibe! If you loved this one most definitely you will love this one too!

Different settings and themes yet both Gakuen Alice and Zettai Karen Children hold similarities when it comes to its style. Both series involve supernatural abilities that gifted individuals are able to use at will. Build on the foundation of the main characters, both series utilizes its plot to present those abilities. The main female characters from both series are energetic and is able to easily make friends. But throughout the series, they both struggle on personal levels when it comes to relationships. There is certain degree of development with the main characters as they learn more about the world, themselves, and their abilities. I recommend both series to anyone interested in sci-fi or a fantasy story that offers diversity. read more

they both deal with elementary age characters in a way that is not demeaning.  The characters are childish and silly but not stupid. The main girls Mikan(GA) and Miiko(MD) are both very spunky, energetic, and not shy. The main guy characters are not as similar, Natsume(GA) is a lot darker and meaner than Tappei(MD) but both of the guy characters have a teasing(although it is a little more bullying for Natsume) relationship with the girl. Also both have a slew of other characters that weave into the story. GA has a lot more of an epic dramatic and gripping plot, But MD has a lovely relaxed feel that makes it enjoyable as well. read more

They have a heroine who enrolls in a new school where everyone is different from themselves. They get a lot of new friends, and there is a lot of comedy involved. The romance is sweet in both mangas, with very sweet kiss scenes too~

Both have the main girl able to stop the powers of the main guy who controls fire.  Both are a little dark though code breaker is darker.  Both main girls live with some people that aren't their real parents, and the main girl has two guys beside her(one with blonde hair, one with black).  Both main guys appear to be evil in the beginning.
