I wouldn't be surprised if Dororo was an inspiration for Berserk. Both feature a mutilated but incredibly skilled hero on a quest for revenge against demons, accompanied by a cocky sidekick. Berserk is far more disturbing, but Dororo is quite dark and gruesome in its own right.

In spite of the temporal difference and the theme of demons, Dororo has many details of Japanese culture (samurai more specifically) also present in Vagabond that become interesting to repair and to realize the inspiration that the mangas of Tezuka and other older ones influence in the most current

Supernatural manga from the 60s with a protagonist of peculiar birth circumstances who fights against yokai and/or other apparitions from Japanese mythology. The art often switches between cartoonish looking characters and gags to more detailed drawings of landscapes and monsters. Osamu Tezuka said that he was inspired by Mizuki’s GeGeGe no Kitaro when he created Dororo.

Osamu Tezuka uses his cartoonish art style to depict a man with some missing limbs on a quest for revenge. The protagonist meets a doctor who makes him special prosthetic body parts and he learns to use them with supernatural powers so he can take retribution against the person/beings that took his parts in the first place.

Both are historical supernatural stories set in an older day empire that focus on the relationship between an older and younger individual, as they venture through the miraculous world and become entangled in its supernatural and spiritual secrets. Dororo differs with its story focusing on the main characters recovering his lost 12 body pieces that were sacrificed to demons by his father in exchange for prosperity and rulership. While Seirei no Moribito focuses on its protagonist protecting and becoming the guardian of the lands prince as he it sort to be sacrificed by the emperor to save the land due to the manifestation of a  read more

Big tough guy and small feisty kid with unspecified gender go on an adventure together to defeat evil forces. RG veda and Dororo may be based on different mythologies and have different outcomes, yet they strangely remind me of one another, especially since they tend to be pretty dark and bloody. if you like Dororo and that kind of trope, you will definitely like RG veda as well!

In both, a man ahead of his time crafts a man-made body for a boy who is or becomes a samurai. Both boys gain a companion of sorts at some point who have some tragic past and a secret.

These manga tell the story of a tormented man hunting demons. During their travels, these men witness the vices of humans and the chaos ruining their country.

Classic horror manga by two legendary mangaka; Osamu Tezuka and Go Nagai. These stories feature men afflicted by demons while carrying a theme of anti-war.

they remind me of each other. a kid, the world, ups and downs, a bad guy. dororo's bit more of an epic tale, as opposed the majora's ten chapters though.
