I must be the only person out there who went into this not knowing or expecting this to be an ecchi manga (I have no idea how I didn't catch on), and yet... I'm still here, still reading, and still very much enjoying it!
While the plot does generally seem to exist for the purpose of the ecchi content, I actually ended up really invested in it. This is very much an ecchi manga, but it has the distinction of being one of the few manga for men to be tagged as a "smut manga", which is a classification usually reserved for manga written for women.
This is to say that the sexiness of the manga isn't just in the art (which is absolutely amazing), it's also in the plot, the dialogue, the interactions between the main character and her enemies. This is a true masterpiece for Yuri, Ecchi and Magical Girls lovers.
In the beginning it's just a perverted and very fun manga about a girl who loves Magical Girls and ends up being forced to join the forces of evil, but as the chapters progress and the story unfolds the plot becomes deeper, more elaborate and even a bit dark in some moments but without ever discarding for a long time the perverted, fun and relaxed side of the story. So this is it I've finally finished MahouAko , what a fucking ride that was, I loved it and it's perhaps one of my favourite manga top 5 for sure, by far it's the one that made me laugh the most, just the overall ridiculousness and unhingedness of it is part of the appeal , kinda in the same vein as nichijou except yuri and lewd and the latter also serves those overall traits imo, like fucking kiwi-chan building a house of cards on top of azul's ass and slapping the fuck out of it everytime she moves so she has to rebuild it everytime,

Lets be honest.
This is basically a doujin. And that's not a bad thing, its most of the reason why I made it so far. But after a certain point all the gimmicks get played out and it stops being fun. There's no real plot or character, just maho girls doing fetishy things. Which when combined with a dodgy fan translation full of out dated memes and phrases like "I stan that" just leaves me feeling bored. characters: 7/10 crazy girls, nothing to say more. dont expect insane literature and proper character development in this all you get is crazy girls art: 7/10 is decent, art isnt bad and isnt too good. enjoyment: 9/10 totally enjoyed this banger, if you are like me you will enjoy as well plot 6/10 nothing special if you are looking for craziness to spice up your lame life, or enjoy perverted content, this, this is the thing so simple yet so effective, literally just craziness and perverse unadulterated. alas it gotten bland after 20 chapters so i dropped it very quick, haha. overall 7/10, recommended

It's a normal ecchi, complete with everyone being adverse to the ecchi, and the few exceptions getting screwed over without exception.
It also references Kamen Rider enough to be spoilers in many cases. The art is surprisingly OK, not really good, but not really bad, either. Many of the characters resemble various Kamen Riders, but with erotic twists. Often, those traits are a source of ridicule, giving most of the cast roughly the role of Akiko Narumi.
