Classic manga based on immense power and manliness. Great reading.

Brtual martial arts, Limbs flying, Hapless secondary characters never having a happy ending, Invincible super badass for a protagonist. These are just a few things that Riki-oh and FoNS share. Although I preferred Riki's art style more both were amazing series.

The determination to face any challenge is a common feature of both characters. If you like that kind of character is not discouraged, however bad the situation is, then you will like to know both Gatsu (Berserk) as Kenshiro (Hokuto no Ken).

Both main characters are basically the same manly hero who upholds justice and rescues the suffering with their hands, kindness and with their manliness. Kenshiro is a martial arts messiah who kills villains with an assassination fist known as Fist Of The North Star while Dr. Kazuya saves people with a scalpel.

Japan IS FotNS... just drawn with Berserk's art and with a strong message about Japanese society. (Many seem to comment on it being pro-Japanese propaganda, but I find that hard to agree with when the author goes out of his way to depict his country's men as being spineless sellouts and the women whoring themselves to the highest bidders.) Super-large men battle it out on a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The strong conquer the weak; women are taken as possessions. And, of course, the BIG lead smacks everyone who crosses his path silly with his manliness. There are bandits, desert buggies, manly broship... everything. The bad? It's dumb and  read more

Both manga have a similar style of storytelling, since they focus less on the story and more on battles. The main characters are quite similar: they are righteous, confident and quiet. Also, they physically resemble each other too. The manga show the journey of these characters, who, along with their comrades, fight against evil forces which seek to rule the world. Both manga are filled with epic battles, heroic sacrifices and vile, but likable, villains.

Although their setting and mood are different (with OPM being a comedy and HnK being more tragic), both manga focus on an overpowered main character, who kills enemies almost effortlessly. Both have great art and over the top action.

They both have same artist, and both main characters are badass. Also both mangas are bloody and action packed

Both series has great minor characters, the main charactes are manly and has their catchphrase. The main villains are bigger and older than theirsiblings and wants to rule over the world but have good reasons (kind of). The series are both enjoyable to read due to their fights and its obscurity. Beside, The Scorpion Killing Technique reminds me of Hokuto Shinken.

Similar graphics and the same intense and bloody action
reportRecommended by CedikFlaw
Both series are martial arts fights, both protagonists are very powerful, both series are shonen of fights, the only difference is the environment, Medaka Box is located in an academy and Hokuto no Ken in a post-apocalyptic world.

These two manga have a different setting, but they do have a similar feeling to them. They are both filled with manly action that will keep your testosterone pump up. You have muscular characters that use superhuman powers to fight other powerful enemies. Not to mention these titles are very violent too. They have enough action to keep you entertained.

For those who seek new full of blood and dismemberment mangas - Drag on Dragoon: Shi ni Itaru Aka is for you. Expect lots of brutal murders, sexual deviations and absolutely degenerated main heroes (at lest one of them).
reportRecommended by susan00
Both series are about men who are out for justice, spilling the blood of the wicked. Also, Buronson, the writer of Hokuto no Ken, worked with Black Angels' creator, Hiramatsu Shinji, on Doberman Deka. These two manga are cut from the same cloth, and deserve your attention. If you like one, you'll like the other.

Imagine History's Strong Disciple set in a post apocalyptic world with outrageous personalities and almost every man featured has, not a six pack, but enough ab muscles that make the number of treads on a car's tire look trivial. If you enjoyed the ridiculous fights and moves in HSDK but wanted gore and outrageous 80's fashion and personality, then Hokuto no Ken is the manga for you!

Hokuto no Ken was one of the main inspirations that made Hirohiko Araki write JoJo, that's why both series share a lot of similarities, both thematically and stylistically. First off, the art styles are quite similar. Also, they have similar elements, and are filled with manly battles, valiant sacrifices, and tragic moments.

-Do you like seeing muscular chads beating each other to deth? -If you're looking for some crazy and fun - over the top fights, then look no further!

Post-apocalyptic manga set in a desert wasteland ruled by violence. The protagonist is a large, muscular man who uses inhuman strength to fight against bandits and the underlings of his rival who rules over the new world. They have a focus on martial arts and are extremely violent.

Some characters have weird powers in a post-apocalyptic land

Kinnnikuman is a Battle shonen about Superhero wrestlers battleing the forces of evil chojins like Hokuto no Ken both manga got a anime by Toei , which the leads are both play by Akira Kamiya at that time , and yes they have over the top fights too

If you like the atmosphere of death and raw battles, both are possibly something for you.

Both manga have a main character that is the heir to a brutal martial art, and have to honor their friends in battle and fight several other martial artists.

If you're a fan of Hokuto no Ken and don't dislike comedy, you should definitely check out ive My Regards to Kenshiro, as it is comedy heavily centered around themes (and characters) from HnK. Not exactly a straight parod of HnK, but certainly tied to it.

hokuto no ken is way more darker but they both have the similar setting

Heavy martial arts series with overpowered heroes with unique abilities from their styles of fighting, sign me up and take my money already!

Simply put, Takeki Ryuusei is a Hokuto no Ken bootleg by the author of Hokuto no Ken.

Both of these feature overblown depictions of violence and manliness at its finest form. You can consider Bad Police as Kenshiro in shoes of Dirty Harry.

In short, Toriko & Fist of The North Star contain very manly heroes with multiple battles against heartless villains. Toriko hass more variety due to multiple super powers with its food and animal based theme. Fist of The North Star is the more tragic of the two diving into an apocalyptic hell where a man battles against his kin. Toriko contains several references to Fist of The North Star which are: 1. The 4 Heavenly Kings are adopted "siblings" while Hokuto no Ken also has 4 brothers. 2. The characters Toriko, Zebra & Coco are inspired by Kenshiro, Raoh & Toki. 3. Both series were stricken by  read more

As I elaborated in my review, I felt Shamo is the true spiritual successor to Hokuto no Ken. I'd elaborate further but I felt even in my review I didn't find the right words to bring out why this is. Just a warning: I don't mean in terms of art, plot or character elements. I mean as an overall innovative manga with it's own unique package of bringing forth something that's close to one of a kind or at least innovative for it's time, Shamo was the closest thing I had felt to the experience of reading Hokuto no Ken in it's entirety.

Shounen-mangas with very strong maincharacters. Both try to make the world better with their fighting skills. Not to mention that Hokuto no ken was a huge influence to Kenshin. :)
reportRecommended by SixPool
Otokojuku is like parody/homage of the shounen genre, and specially Hokuto no Ken. The characters are over-the-top in terms of hot bloodness, and many aspects are "borrowed" from HnK, like many martial arts styles and even characters.
reportRecommended by Ken_of_Hokuto
both series have great fight scenes, and insane level of violence in the fights

Family of Brahman is heavily inspired by Fist of The North Star as it utilizes a similar assassination art called "The Fist of Brahman" which delivers the same result of controlling an enemy to their death. Both series contain manly heroes and tales filled with sorrow.
reportRecommended by THEAnimeHERO
Both mangas are filled with action and violence and both have a great plot.

Post-apocalyptic worlds with absurd violence.

A stoic, unstoppable warrior wanders the post-apocalyptic desert, striking down crazed, hulking enemies in a world gone bad...never get between a mother and her children. Apart from the obvious 'Mad Max'-like shared theme, Kenshiro and Sarah stand out for their righteous compassion as much as their strength. While Mother Sarah lacks the extravagant martial arts and strong well-backstoried supporting cast of Hokuto no Ken, it does convincingly show a world at war, and how so many tiny but vivid characters are tormented by it. PSA: Please obtain manga legally.

GAR with manly tears. In a time of turmoil and harsh living conditions (edo post-industrialisation and post apocalyptic WW3 settings), a wandering serious MC, last of his line, heir of a deadly and the best martial art/sword style, is on a quest of revenge, against his natural counterpart, scheming villain sending hordes of skilled fighters after him, while he brings justice along the way in episodic stories. Kozure Ookami is the better title, because it's less cheesy, more varied, the side characters are more developed, and the historical setting is well recreated, but both are great. Hokuto no Ken was probably more influential and famous, for defining the  read more

Saint Seiya has a lot of similarities with HnK. The warriors n HnK represent stars and constellations and each saint in SS represents a constelation. The super human fights, the excessive blood, the melodrama... And pegasus Ryusei Ken is identical to Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken

Baku Ryosuke is inspired by Raoh, the villain of Fist of The North Star. Both characters have an emphasis of achieving their goals through the power of their fists. The story of Bakudan is about a delinquent who pursues boxing while Fist of The North Star focuses on heroic men attempting to bring peace to an apocalyptic wasteland. Both series have their share of manly ideals.

Extremely over-the-top fights among manly men.

Land filled with enemies, the protagonist is a muscular tough guy that punches through the problems. Manga filled high with testosterone.
